Kellie Finlayson reveals time she 'didn't want to wake up' and 'asked the nurses to turn off the machines' amid terminal cancer diagnosis
Kellie Finlayson has given a heartbreaking insight into her terminal cancer battle in her new book.
The brave mum, who is married to Port Adelaide star Jeremy Finlayson, is battling stage four bowel and lung cancer and has undergone thoracic surgery in recent months.
She was first diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2021 and revealed in 2022 that the illness had spread to her lungs.
Kellie has now opened up about her cancer diagnosis in her new book There Must Be More: Finding Purpose In The Face Of The Unimaginable.

'I talk about the days I didn't want to wake up and a time I asked nurses to turn off he machines. There are emotions there Jeremy didn't even know I had,' Kellie told Woman's Day.
'It was a very naked feeling when it was released but it's also the best thing I've ever done. People can understand where I've been.'
The inspiring mum previously said she was 'so incredibly proud to share this piece with me and the world, and was still so confused every day as to why my story is worthy of being literally printed in a book.'
'Imposter syndrome is screaming, but deep down, I know this is bigger than me.
'This is for those who have faced devastation, for those who feel alone, for those who no longer have a voice to share their story.
'For those who are stuck for words, for those who feel helpless.
'I feel like I've lived a dozen lives, and somehow, beyond motherhood, becoming an author might just be the most surreal one yet.
'This is hope. This is me - the rawest version of me.'
In March, Finlayson revealed she had undergone a VATS procedure to remove a piece of tissue from her lungs. VATS stands for Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery, which is a form of keyhole surgery. Pictured Kellie and Jeremy with their daughter
In March, Finlayson revealed she had undergone a VATS procedure to remove a piece of tissue from her lungs. VATS stands for Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery, which is a form of keyhole surgery.
She revealed that doctors had removed metastatic tissue from her lungs.
Metastatic tissue occurs when cancer cells spread from a primary tumour to other areas in the body to form new tumours.
The young mum published a clip of herself lying in a hospital bed, writing: 'Me a week ago'.
In the next frame, Finlayson looked bright and well, sharing a brief clip of two scars on the left side of her rib cage following the surgery.
'Just over a week ago I was having a VATS wedge resection on my right lung to remove Mets and send off tissue to pathology in hope for more answers/better treatment plans,' Kellie captioned the video.
'I've had soooo many people checking in to see how I'm doing, thank you!!!
'And honestly, I'm so fine. Which I know is incredible given the major surgery I've just undergone and I know not everyone is as lucky. But hey, I'll take the wins when I can get them in this never-ending experience.'

Jack Vidgen appears in good health as he attends church service with his mother after seventh stint in rehab
Jack Vidgen is on the mend after a recent stint in rehab. The troubled former Australia's Got Talent star stepped out on Sunday for a visit to a local Sydney church with his mum. The pop singer was joined by mother Rachel Hayton, with the pair enjoying a coffee and a walk after the service. Jack appeared in good health and good spirits as he strolled along sipping from a takeaway cup and puffing on a vape. He kept warm in a crisp white hoodie paired with pale blue track pants and a pair of sneakers. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Jack completed his look with a pair of sunglasses and chatted happily to his mum, who brought her dog along for the walk. He had earlier sat down at a local cafe with his mum and enjoyed a spirit conversation that left him smiling. It comes after Jack shared a heartbreaking 'belated' Mother's Day message to his mum ahead of his seventh visit to rehab. The 28-year-old, who announced earlier this year that he was once again battling addiction in a rehab centre after a recent relapse, shared the sweet post for his followers. He included a selfie, in which his adoring mother can be seen embracing him on a park bench. Jack said it was a 'late' Mother's Day post, explaining he didn't get to see his mum for the big day earlier that month. He also confessed that when the picture was taken his mother had travelled to see him and asked him to get him professional help for his addiction battle, but he refused. 'I took this pic of mum and I on the 16th April, last month. It was right in the middle of my relapse,' he continued. 'She'd driven from down from the coast, where she lives, in hopes we would have coffee and that I would come back with her and maybe check in to rehab. 'I saw how much it broke her heart as I told her I had no plans of getting sober and that I wouldn't be coming back with her. 'I know that being the person with the addiction is hard, but being a family member, I think especially a parent of someone who goes through addiction, would be so painful and would leave you feeling helpless. 'Mum, you are an absolute angel and warrior. You've been through so much yourself and you've loved and supported me through this battle with such compassion yet also giving me tough love when I've needed it. 'You're an incredible woman and are so loved by so many, I hope you know that.' He signed off the message 'Bestest mum in the whole wide world' and added two kisses. Jack earlier posted to social media with a tearful message to share the sad news that he had returned to a rehabilitation centre for the seventh time. The singer explained he recently suffered a relapse and was once again fighting addiction. 'Hi, this is not the video I was hoping to make five months down the track after [not] posting anything on Instagram,' Jack said. Choking back sobs, Jack detailed his recent experience. 'I relapsed, that was two months ago,' he said. 'Just like that - I feel like I've let a lot of people down and I wasn't going to talk about it again, because half of me is like "Oh shut up Jack, no one wants to hear it."' Jack also revealed he made a police 'report' over an unspecified matter that has led him to 'feeling scared'. 'But I just feel like I need to tell someone that I have a situation coming up in a couple of months...' he continued. 'I just feel think I'm just really scared. I've been really scared for so many years.' He signed off by telling followers he was not 'doing okay' but he would be 'okay'. Jack, who has often taken to social media over the years to share his addiction troubles, also posted a lengthy caption for the video. He signed off by telling followers he was not 'doing okay' but he would be 'okay' 'I made a police report five years ago and it's just been lingering like this dark cloud over my life for so long and I just want it to be over and I think I just wanted to do a reach out,' he said. 'If you're a victim you understand. If you're a victim through addiction you'd understand even more. 'It's just been really hard and i don't know I just want to talk about it because I want to talk about it with people but they don't get it. 'Anyway the point of this video was just to check in and say hello and just let you know that i'm not doing okay but I will be doing okay.' Elsewhere in the post Jack said: 'I'm scared for the future. As I mentioned I have a situation coming up in the next couple months that's been lingering for the last 5 years. Something that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. I've been so terrified but it's time I step into my strength and my truth. 'As a victim of sexual abuse I will get through this. Alive. I love you all. Jack x.' The performer rose to fame after winning the fifth season of Australia's Got Talent in 2011. After bowing out of the spotlight for a few years, he returned to prominence in 2019 as a contestant on The Voice. He made it all the way to the semi-finals before being eliminated.

Gold FM radio legends Jonesy and Amanda 'jumping ship' to another Sydney station as their potential replacement is revealed
Speculation is mounting that Gold FM stalwarts Amanda Keller and Brendan Jones could be readying to jump ship to a rival network. The pair, who have been hosting breakfast at the Sydney station 101.7 (formerly WSFM) for 20 years, have been rumoured to be eyeing off a spot at Triple M. According to recent reports, management at Gold are contemplating shifting the pair's popular Jonesy and Amanda show to the drive-time slot. Taking their current spot would be Melbourne based Gold star Christian O'Connell. Since this would mean a salary cut for Jonesy and Amanda, reported The Australian's Media Diary on Monday, insiders say that the pair are 'in talks' with Triple M. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Keller, 63, and Jones, 57, could be a catch for Triple M, after their Sydney breakfast team suffered a brutal blow in the third radio ratings survey of 2025. The Triple M trio of Beau Ryan, Aaron 'Woodsy' Woods and Cat Lynch's lost 1.5 per cent of the market share in survey two, and dropped another 1.5 in the latest survey. This puts them with a 4.4 market share from a previous 5.9. Meanwhile, Jonesy and Amanda finished third in the survey with a 9.3 per cent audience share, with 2GB's Ben Fordham in second place. It comes after the wildly popular Kyle & Jackie O Show was again number one in FM breakfast in Sydney, with a market share of 12.5 (up by 0.2). Though their performance in Melbourne has slightly dipped again and they dropped 0.7 to a 5.1 market share following the gains they made last survey. Sydney juggernauts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson have been embroiled in the battle since their multimillion-dollar expansion into the city saw ex KIIS FM stars Jason 'Jase' Hawkins and Lauren Phillips be axed. On April 29, 2024 Sandilands and Henderson took The Kyle & Jackie O Show to Melbourne in a huge multimillion-dollar expansion deal. The move triggered the axing of Hawkins and Phillips own KIIS FM breakfast show. Sandilands and Henderson have since struggled to capture the Melbourne market. In November, Sandilands vowed to reduce the graphic sexual content on his KIIS FM radio show this year to appeal to the Melbourne audience more broadly. Brisbane listeners, meanwhile, have only embraced the pain tentatively with their syndicated drive-time slot, 'Hour of Power' finishing this survey with an 11 per cent share of the audience. The result puts them behind the Nova, B105 and Triple M in the same slot.

Orlando Bloom joins Katy Perry and their daughter in Australia for 'heart-to-heart' amid relationship struggle rumors
Orlando Bloom has joined Katy Perry and their daughter Daisy Dove, five, in Australia amid rumors of trouble in their relationship. The actor, 48, was spotted spending time with his little girl in Perth on Sunday. They were joined by members of his entourage, including a man who appeared to be a security guard. Katy, who performed at the Perth RAC Arena that night, did not join the group. Orlando carried Daisy on his shoulders as they took at a stroll around the city. He dressed casually for the outing, wearing a long-sleeve top and matching black jeans. He accessorized with a baseball cap. Orlando's trip Down Under comes after reports that he and Katy are set to have serious conversations about the state of their relationship. From her controversial Blue Origin space flight to her absence from their Montecito, California, home due to her world tour - things have been a bit rough for the longtime couple lately. And while rumor may be circulating about the demise of their nearly decade-long relationship, an insider told The Sun 'no one has decided it's definitely the end of the road for Katy and Orlando'. The source said: 'They both love each other, but they have been living different lives for at least a year and in different mindsets. But Katy especially doesn't want to just give up. 'Katy and Orlando have been disconnected for a while now, and with their work commitments have been living separate lives. 'She has mentioned jetting back from Australia to spend time with Orlando, Daisy, her sister Angela and her kids.' The insider continued: 'They have barely been together for a decent amount of time, without distractions, for many, many months. 'It has been "go, go, go" and they thrived when they enjoyed a more settled life, being together in the same place for a length of time. But that has just not happened.' Additionally, Orlando wasn't in favor of Katy's Blue Origin space flight. However, in spite of their disagreements, the source insisted it isn't all over for the couple. They added: 'It is quite a lot more complicated than that. They have been apart for their longest amount of time since they have been together. 'But there is still a huge amount of love between them, and there is still hope that they can ride out this rough patch. 'Anyone in long-term relationships goes through challenges, and many times when things appear to be done, couples reconnect and make things work.' Despite recent tensions, the source remains optimistic: 'The type of people they are, there still remains a lot of hope. Katy has never been happier in her life than with Orlando.' 'If this reunion can revive those times, then they could come through this.'
