Samsung announces the date of Galaxy Unpacked event for its new foldables

GSM Arena6 hours ago

Last week, leakster Evan Blass said that Samsung would host its Galaxy Unpacked event for the unveiling of new foldables on July 9. Well, Blass' claim has turned out to be true, as Samsung has confirmed the July 9 date for the Galaxy Unpacked event.
The event will be hosted in Brooklyn, New York, and will begin at 10AM ET. It will also be streamed live on Samsung's official website and YouTube channel.
The Korean brand hasn't revealed how many devices it will unveil at Unpacked and simply stated that the "next-generation Galaxy devices are being reimagined around a new AI-powered interface, supported by breakthrough hardware built to unlock their full potential."
The video teaser Samsung shared says "Ultra Unfolds" towards the end, which could lead one to believe that Samsung will introduce the folding Ultra at the Unpacked; however, rumors claim that's unlikely to happen.
While Samsung didn't explicitly mention the names of the products it will introduce at the July 9 Unpacked event, rumors suggest that the brand will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, and the Galaxy Watch8 series.

The Garmin Venu 3S is a hit at its lowest price on Amazon

Galaxy and Apple watches might boast a great design and many features, but they all fail in one crucial area: battery life. If multi-day endurance is your top priority, you're better off getting a Garmin watch. One standout pick is the Venu 3S. This bad boy packs a 10-day battery life and a beautiful OLED touchscreen. Plus, it's now on sale at Amazon, allowing you to get it at a more affordable of nearly $450, the GPS watch now goes for about $350, saving you a tempting $100. That's its lowest price so far, too, though we've seen the same promo in the past. Nevertheless, with neither Walmart nor Best Buy currently matching this price cut, Amazon is your best chance at scoring a rather tempting discount on this impressive wearable. $100 off (22%) The Garmin Venu 3S is an excellent choice for active users, offering up to 10 days of battery life and multiple workout features. On top of that, you can currently buy it at its lowest price on Amazon, as the 41mm variant with a Sage Gray case is $100 off. Buy at Amazon In our experience, the Garmin Venu 3S really packs a punch, making it a solid pick for active users. The touchscreen is lovely, heart rate measurements are exceptionally accurate, and so is GPS accuracy. Want more details? Check out our Garmin Venu 3 review. But here are the basics: this fella offers Body Battery energy monitoring, advanced sleep tracking, multiple preloaded activity profiles (including wheelchair mode), and nap detection. It also features a microphone and, unlike many Garmin watches, allows you to take phone calls from your wrist. Other standout extras include morning reports, fitness age, workout benefits, and more. What's more, the Venu 3S lets you download and store music on your wrist, a welcome extra many users appreciate. Additionally, the timepiece is compatible with Android phones and iPhones. However, you can only text from your wrist when the unit is connected to an Android phone . As you can see, the Garmin Venu 3S checks a lot of boxes. Although it's a bit pricey at its standard price, the model is far more attractive at $100 off. Grab yours at Amazon and save. Secure your connection now at a bargain price! Samsung may have just confirmed this key Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 info ahead of Unpacked

Who needs leakers, insiders, and pundits when we have official company websites? Believe it or not, Samsung seems to have inadvertently revealed a bunch of details on its upcoming ultra-high-end foldables right after formally confirming their launch date at last . Yes, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 color options appear to be just as etched in stone now as the July 9 Unpacked event, and the same goes for the two's storage configurations. Technically, the information discovered by Android Authority in plain sight on staging websites set up by Samsung in Ireland for the B7 (aka Galaxy Z Flip 7 ) and Q7 ( Z Fold 7 ) also includes price points, but these are clearly not to be taken very seriously. Green Mint, Coral Red, Jet Black, Blue Shadow - Galaxy Z Flip 7 ; Green Mint, Jet Black, Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow - Galaxy Z Fold 7 . So how do I know that these colorways can be trusted when the price tags listed by Samsung are obviously unrealistic placeholders? To be perfectly honest, I can't know that for sure, but three of those four Z Flip 7 versions and three of the four Z Fold 7 flavors have been rumored (under simpler names) by a credible source before. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 looks absolutely stunning in Coral Red. | Image Credit -- Evan Blass Even more notably, Evan Blass (who is never wrong about these types of things) leaked the Z Flip 7 in all its press-friendly glory in black, blue, and red hues just yesterday, which essentially made those three options official before Samsung could remove the last shred of doubt from the equation. Green Mint is therefore the only (semi) surprising color revealed today (for both the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 ), but before you get too excited, it looks like you'll have to place your order on Samsung's official website to get your hands on that undoubtedly head-turning shade. If history is any indication, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be released in other exclusive colors as well, but for the time being, there's no concrete information on that and no word on specific additional hues. Galaxy Z Flip 7 - 256 and 512GB; - 256 and 512GB; Galaxy Z Fold 7 - 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. Once again, I have a pretty good feeling about the accuracy of this information because it's been rumored a couple of times before by some generally reliable insiders. And once again, there are no big surprises to report. The upcoming Z Fold 7 certainly looks like a radical evolution of the existing Z Fold 6. | Image Credit -- The Sinza Yes, I know some of you may have hoped to see Samsung's next-gen flagship clamshell released in a 1TB storage variant in addition to 256 and 512 gig options. But that's probably not happening. Interestingly, Samsung is likely to remove the entry-level 128GB storage configuration from the Z Flip 7 lineup, possibly to leave room for the Z Flip 7 FE to cut costs and shine with a lower price point. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 , meanwhile, is all but guaranteed to keep its predecessor's storage options unchanged, although it remains to be seen which ones (if any) will jump from 12 to 16GB RAM. My money is on the top-of-the-line 1TB storage variant only, but (nice) surprises are always possible. Let's just hope yesterday's rumor of large price hikes for the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 over last year's Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will prove inaccurate after all. Granted, this year's internal upgrades and cosmetic changes look significantly more major than what the aforementioned 2024 foldables revised about their own predecessors, but Samsung's hardcore fans are still unlikely to be okay with massive price increases all of a sudden. Google removes popular and useful feature from the Pixel Camera app

On Monday Google started to disseminate an updated version of Pixel Camera 9.9. The newer version of the update, 9.9.106.773153235.19, does not have the Social Share feature which seems to indicate that Google intentionally removed it from the Pixel Camera app. The feature is design yo allow users to quickly share images shot using the Pixel Camera app. With Social Share, you slide up from the image preview and see a total of six destinations you can share an image with. Up to three of them are selected by you by going to settings. My Pixel 6 Pro with Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2 installed is running an older version of the Pixel Camera app (9.8.102.748116395.16) which means I still have Social Share on my phone. I can select up to three destinations to share an image with by opening the Camera app, and tapping the settings gear icon in the bottom left. Press on More settings in the pill-shaped container on the bottom right, tap on Social Share, toggle on the feature at the top, and select up to three destinations. Until you change the three, those destinations will always be an option when you open Social Share. Without this shortcut, to share photos you've snapped, you will have to go to the Photos app, open a photo, and tap on the share icon to summon the share sheet so that you can share an image. To reiterate, those with the most recent version of the pixel Camera app will no longer have the Social Share feature. The Social Share feature is gone from new versions of the Pixel Camera app. | Image credit-PhoneArena Pixel Camera 9.9 also includes a new look for the 3, 5, and 10-minute timers. This new look improves the visibility of the numerals 3, 5, and 10 inside the timers making them easier to see. Instead of showing white numbers against a black background inside a small icon of a stopwatch, the new look has the numerals 3,5, and 10 inside a stopwatch with the numbers in black against a white background. This is the version that is easier to see. The old version is on the left with the updated version on the right. Note the difference in the timer numerals. | Image credit-9to5Google Also missing from the update is the Education Hub that was listed as part of the Pixel Feature Drop for June. When the feature arrives, you'll see a question mark in the viewfinder on the top right corner. Tap on the question mark to read "Explore ways to take photos." You'll see instructions and "How to" instructions for every mode. Secure your connection now at a bargain price!
