Aamir Khan says Paki cricketer Javed Miandad ruined his wedding with Reena Dutta, put him in depression: ‘I said Javed bhai aapne theek nahi kiya'
In a conversation with The Lallantop, Aamir Khan shared details about the day he got married to Reena Dutta and how Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad ruined his wedding. The actor said both he and Reena were scared to return home after their big step. 'Mujhe laga sab puchenge kaha the itni der (We thought our families will question us about being so late),' said Aamir Khan. But, luckily, it was a day when India had a match against Pakistan and everyone in their families were so engrossed in the match that they never noticed Aamir or Reena's absence. However, the match put Aamir Khan in depression.
The actor recalled, 'It was India-Pakistan match day. The same match where Javed Miandad hit a six on the last ball. We were winning that match so nobody cared to ask us about our absence for so long. I too joined them and was watching cricket, however, Javed's six ruined it all. Once I happened to meet him on the flight when I told him, 'Javed bhai aapne theek nahi kiya. Aapne meri shadi barbaad kardi (You ruined my wedding). He was like, 'Kaise? (How)' I said, 'Usi din aapne chakka mara tha. Depression mein chala gaya tha mai. (Your six put me in depression.)''

A few months later, their parents found out about their secret marriage which brought a huge storm in the couple's lives. Reena's parents were so upset that they cut ties with her. It also resulted in her father suffering a heart attack. However, the health scare also became a reason behind bringing the family close. Eventually, Reena's family accepted her marriage to Aamir Khan. Later, Aamir's younger sister Farhat tied the knot with Reena's brother Rajeev. This brought Reena's father closer to Aamir Khan.
Reena and Aamir stayed married for 16 years. They finalised their divorce in 2002. They co-parents their kids Junaid Khan and Ira Khan.

Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 17: Aamir Khan's movie nears ₹150 crore mark, mints THIS amount on Sunday
Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 17: Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par is less than ₹ 5 crore shy of achieving the ₹ 150 crore mark by the end of three weeks at the Indian box office. The movie, which had a significant hold on urban cities earlier, is now facing tough competition from Anurag Basu's Metro In Dino, which, too, focuses on the same target audience. However, the potential of both Sitaare Zameen Par and Metro In Dino in metro cities is being impacted by stiff competition from the Hollywood biggies – Jurassic World Rebirth and Brad Pitt's F1. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Sitaare Zameen Par earned ₹ 3.23 crore till 5 PM on Sunday, Day 17. With this, the movie's total earnings have climbed to ₹ 145.78 crore, which is nearly ₹ 4 crore away from the ₹ 150 crore mark. These are just early estimates from Sitaare Zameen Par's Sunday earnings. The numbers will be revised later to include evening and night show collections. Therefore, a decent jump in the second half of the day may help the Aamir Khan and Genelia D'Souza starrer to cross the mark by the end of the day. By the end of Saturday, Day 16, the movie had collected ₹ 142.55 crore, of which its Tamil version garnered ₹ 74,00,000 and its Telugu variant earned ₹ 44,00,000. Sitaare Zameen Par saw an overall 13.83% occupancy on July 6. For the Hindi version, the occupancy was as follows: The numbers for the evening and night shows are yet to be released. Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Mumbai, and Pune recorded the highest footfall for the day. Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna, has earned a solid ₹ 217.5 crore globally in 16 days. Its overseas collection stood at ₹ 51.7 crore, while its India gross was ₹ 164.8 crore. The numbers are yet to be updated for Day 17.

‘I was connected to both': Kajol reminisces about how Ajay Devgn's cold ‘unresolved' war with YRF eventually turned to legal battle
Kajol recently opened up about the personal toll she experienced during a tense period in 2012 when a major dispute unfolded between her husband Ajay Devgn's film production company and the powerful Yash Raj Films banner. The conflict centered around the simultaneous release of Son of Sardaar and Jab Tak Hai Jaan, leading to a competitive clash that placed Kajol in an uncomfortable position due to her deep personal ties with both Ajay Devgn and filmmaker Aditya Chopra. In a candid conversation with The Lallantop, Kajol spoke about how emotionally challenging it was to be involved in a situation where two sides she cared for deeply were in disagreement. She revealed that she often felt torn and powerless, especially as the conflict persisted without immediate resolution. According to Kajol, such confrontations are always emotionally taxing, more so when time doesn't seem to ease the tension right away. Both production houses were firm in defending their respective interests, which only added to the strain. "As somebody who was connected to both sides, I felt helpless. You have to wait for time to pass so that the feelings subside. So that things can become ok again," she said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Simple Morning Habit for a Flatter Belly After 50! Lulutox Undo While navigating the situation, Kajol admitted to experiencing a sense of helplessness. She explained that in scenarios like these, where bonds exist on both ends, the best one can often do is wait for the emotional heat to settle. Over time, she believes, tempers cool, allowing room for understanding and reconciliation. She also touched on the broader idea that transformation—whether in life or the industry—is inevitable and constant. To her, change is not something to be classified as either positive or negative but simply a natural and ongoing part of existence. The origins of the dispute date back to when Ajay Devgn FFilms (ADF), the actor's production entity, filed an official complaint with the Competition Commission of India (CCI). The grievance alleged that Yash Raj Films had exercised unfair market influence by locking in a disproportionately high number of screens for Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which in turn severely restricted the screen availability for Son of Sardaar. This legal confrontation further intensified the professional rivalry between the two banners during the Diwali 2012 release window. In recent times, Kajol was featured in Maa, a mythological horror movie directed by Vishal Furia. The film, which premiered on June 27, was a collaborative production between Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande. Looking ahead, Kajol is gearing up for her next release, Sarzameen, an action-thriller also starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Ibrahim Ali Khan. This upcoming project will begin streaming on JioHotstar starting July 25.
