Since its official opening in 1926, Auchengillan Outdoor Centre has welcomed more than 250,000 people. (Image: Supplied) Claire Taylor, manager of Auchengillan Outdoor Centre, said: "For a century, Auchengillan Outdoor Centre has been a beacon of learning, exploration, and confidence-building for the next generation – we are a place where young people discover who they are and what they can achieve. "With the launch of the fantastic new high ropes course and giant swing, we are not only celebrating the past 100 years but also investing in a future where outdoor adventure continues to change lives. "Our mission is to help young people grow through adventure and this new equipment is designed to challenge, inspire and support young people to reach new heights in every sense of the word. "We look forward to another centenary giving young people the chance to push their limits, bond with others, and discover their potential in a way only the outdoors can offer." The Auchengillan 100 launch also sees the start of the Friends of Auchengillan campaign, which invites trusts, philanthropic partners, and individuals to support the future of youth development in Scotland. Auchengillan is owned and operated by Clyde Scouts, a registered charity that relies on membership subscriptions and donations. The campaign aims to ensure the next generation can continue to benefit from the unique opportunities offered by the centre. Scott Ballantyne, chair of Clyde Scouts, said: "The young people who visit Auchengillan leave changed. "They are more confident, more capable, and more connected. "Support helps ensure that opportunity never disappears. "We know many hold the centre close to their hearts and it is always a joy to hear stories and memories from people about their time at Auchengillan. "As we reflect on our 100-year history, we also call upon the community to rally behind our vision for the next century." Auchengillan 100 will be celebrated throughout 2025 and 2026 with a series of special events.

Football fans left baffled as Google CHANGES Rangers' name and relegates Manchester United to Scottish JUNIOR league
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) JUST when you thought Scottish football couldn't get any weirder... It's time to welcome Boro Rangers to the Premiership, congratulate Kilmarnock's (non-existent) B team on winning promotion and discuss whether Manchester United can mount a title challenge in the Scottish JUNIOR leagues. Sign up for the Rangers newsletter Sign up 6 Notice anything strange about this league table? Credit: GOOGLE 6 Dundee fans face a longer trip for this weekend's game than they first thought Credit: GOOGLE 6 Hibernian are apparently due to face an imaginary team on Sunday Credit: GOOGLE No, this isn't an alternative universe. Spider-Man may be swinging through the streets of Glasgow but this isn't what football fans thought they'd be marvelling at in the first month of the season. In an utterly bizarre turn of events, if you happened to search for 'Rangers' on Google this evening, you'd be surprised to see that their name had apparently been CHANGED by the search engine. Indeed, Google replaced the Ibrox side with BORO RANGERS of Northern League Division One in the England, the NINTH tier of English football. Boro Rangers play at Phoenix Park in Middlesbrough and were only formed in 2003 but according to Google it's they, not Glasgow Rangers, who are hosting Dundee tomorrow evening. Bit of a last-minute long haul trip for those Dee fans then... And the weird cock-ups don't stop there. That's because elsewhere in Google's Premiership standings, Stuart Kettlewell's Kilmarnock have been replaced by Kilmarnock B. The only problem there is that Kilmarnock don't even have a 'B' team. So it looks like an easy three points for Hibs at the weekend then... But perhaps the most bizarre error of all concerns global football power Manchester United and their apparent slip into the Scottish Junior leagues. When Ross McCausland knew it was time to leave Rangers and why he's been blown away by his REPLACEMENTS According to Google, Manchester United currently lie in 14th position in the North Region Junior Football League after a 5-1 defeat to Lossiemouth United last week. A real fall from grace from Europa League finalist in May for Ruben Amorim's men it seems. That's a drop from the Premier League to the sixth tier of Scottish football in... a matter of minutes? Not only that, they'll need to be in two places at once this Saturday as Google has them down to host Fiorentina at Old Trafford at 12.45pm and somehow make it to Aberdeen Sports Village to face Bridge of Don at 2pm. 6 This isn't Photoshop, this is a real league to Google Credit: GOOGLE Unlike the mistake Kilmarnock there is a more straightforward answer to this gaffe. It seems that, inexplicably, the Red Devils have been swapped with another team who play in red, Ellon United of Aberdeenshire. And just for giggles, Blackburn Rovers have been renamed 'Route One Rovers' ahead of their Championship opener against West Brom. Meanwhile Wolverhampton Wanderers are now Wolverhampton Casuals, if you believe Google. Several Rangers fans began noticing the clangers at around 7pm on Friday night, with the blunders still not rectified by the time of publication. One wrote: "Boro Rangers???? A red home kit???? Who did this? "The Russians, the Chinese, the Martians... Canadians? I don't care! "All I know is we didn't do it, and that's reason for us to assume the worst and blow us to kingdom come!" A second questioned: Boro Rangers?" A third joked: "Aye so I support Boro Rangers now." Before another exploded: "Who the f*** is Boro Rangers?" Maybe someone at Google has just been playing too much Football Manager. Or maybe relying on things like Google and AI isn't the future after all. 6 A busy day for Manchester United on Saturday then... 6 And a personal favourite Credit: GOOGLE Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

Nearly half of staff in Glasgow KPMG team 'made redundant'
A member of staff, who wished to remain anonymous, told us that they were invited into a "scripted" Teams call at the start of the week, where they were hit with the devastating news. The professional services network describes the Global Mobility team's work as "helping organisations manage their globally mobile workforce." There are fears within the team that the workload of the axed employees will be outsourced abroad in a bid to cut costs. Nearly half of staff in Glasgow KPMG team 'made redundant' (Image: Archive) READ MORE: Glasgow set for 400 jobs boost as service giant KPMG announces new city hub READ MORE: 'I could feel the heat' Huge explosion on Spider-Man film set as car flips over The anonymous staff member said: "KPMG had a five-minute scripted Teams call with unsuspecting Glasgow Global Mobility staff based in Glasgow St Vincent Street on Monday announcing 29 redundancies out of 64 staff due to UK tax return/compliance work being transferred to India. "The level of experience in the Glasgow office is irreplaceable, but due to cheaper costs, KPMG have decided to move work over to India, even with current ongoing issues with quality, IT and information security. "They have warned staff not to talk about redundancies for fear it gets into the media and they lose clients who they sell the service as UK-based to. "Next to no information is being given to staff who are just expected to keep working until late September to find out if they are one of the 29 to be made redundant. "KPMG have chosen to do this during a busy period, and making sure the termination date of 17th October means the 29 staff would miss out on their annual pay rise and bonuses. "They do not care about the staff's mental wellbeing or the fact that there is a woman on maternity leave facing this. "Other than the Teams call, staff are being kept in the dark." A spokesperson for KPMG said: "Following a review, we have made the difficult decision to consult on proposals to reduce a small number of roles in our Global Mobility Services business to align our resources with our future operating model. 'We are supporting those affected by the consultation through our employee assistance programme.'
