Lego is serving up a tasty visit to The Simpsons Krusty Burger
The Simpsons has got a new Lego set on the way, with a recreation of a Krusty Burger restaurant that is filled with more in-jokes and references than the average modern episode.
It's been almost a decade since Lego made its last The Simpsons set but thankfully the town of Springfield is back, in brick-built form.
Previous sets have included the iconic Simpsons house and the Kwik-E-Mart. They've long since been discontinued but now there's a brand new building: the famous Krusty Burger restaurant.
Not only do you get to recreate Springfield's least hygienic, celebrity-endorsed fast food joint but it comes with seven new minifigures, including Homer, Bart, Lisa, Sideshow Bob, Officer Lou, and the Squeaky Voiced Teen.
The main model measures 24cm by 20cm and is made up of 1,635 pieces, including a dining area, lavatory, kitchen, drive-thru, and a separate pole sign.
You can lift off the roof and fold out the model to see the serving counter and details like the ice cream machine, deep fat fryer, and Buzz Cola dispenser.
There's also the Krusty's Kidz Zone ball pit and a ton of extra little details and references to the show, from Bart's graffiti to Homer eating a Ribwich and the back door having a sign that reads 'Meat-like by-product delivery entrance' on it.
Everything is packed with Easter eggs and nods to classic episodes, including the Farmer Krusty minifigure, from Season 20 episode Coming to Homerica, when Krusty Burger started selling vegetarian food.
To top it off there's also the customised version of Homer's car, with Krusty the Clown's face on it, from the Season 6 episode Homie the Clown.
Given it's a licensed set with a big piece count the Krusty Burger isn't cheap, coming in at £179.99 in the UK. It's squarely aimed at adult fans though, with an 18+ rating in terms of the difficulty of assembling it. More Trending
The set will be available from June 4, at the Lego website and official stores, although Lego Insiders can buy it from June 1.
Becoming an insider requires only a free sign-up and if you buy the set between June 1 and 7 then you'll also get a free gift with purchase of The Simpsons living room.
It depicts the famous opening scene before any of the Simpsons have arrived, and includes the famous couch, sailboat painting, a Krusty Burger drink, and a Krusty Burger ad on TV.
The free gift isn't something you can buy and won't be available at all after the promotional period ends, although hopefully this will be only the start of a new wave of other Simpsons Lego sets.
