Jessie J's devastating admission after being diagnosed with breast cancer
Jessie J has opened up about her health after announcing she has been diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer at the age of 37, but has vowed to continue working
Jessie J has said she needs time to "process" her breast cancer diagnosis. The Laserlight hitmaker recently took to social media to announce she had been diagnosed with "early breast cancer".
The 37-year-old charttopper has said she's spent her time "in and out of tests" and will undergo surgery later this month to remove the tumour. "I just wanted to be open and share it," she said, before explaining that she hasn't been processing the devastating news.
Jessie said she had been holding onto the news for nine weeks before speaking publicly about her diagnosis. But while the news was truly devastating, she was hopeful after being told her condition was in the "early" stages. She has also said the news has been "beautiful" and given her a new sense of perspective.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the singer told her 13.9 million followers: "Just shared (posted) something super personal I have been holding onto for 9 weeks. The timing of it has been mad but also beautiful and given me this incredible perspective in this time.
"But honestly, I need to process it and talk about it, and I need a hug. You have loved me through all my good and hard times. And I don't want this to be any different." Sharing a video about her diagnosis, Jessie said: "I was diagnosed with early breast cancer.
"Cancer sucks in any form, but I'm holding on to the word 'early'. It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job. I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive tits and more music."
While her diagnosis was scary, she admits sharing it as a sign of solidarity to others currently battling the disease. She added: "I just wanted to be open and share it. One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard.
"I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. I'm an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse—that's the bit that kills me.

Captioning her post, the singer said: "No (more) Secrets and is it too soon to do a remix called 'Living my breast life'? All jokes aside (You know it's one of the ways I get through hard times) This last 2 months have been so amazing, and having this go on alongside it on the sidelines has given me the most incredible perspective. BUT… Your girl needs a hug. Also not getting massive tits. Or am I? No no… I must stop joking."
Her post which has been liked over 69,000 was flooded with messages of support from dozens of famous faces. Leigh-Anne Pinnock said: "Sending you so much love," alongside three heart emojis. Michelle Visage typed: "Sending you so much love and healing energy."
"Sending so much love I have every confidence you will beat this," said Paloma Faith. Gaby Roslin penned: "Sending you so much love and enormous hugs." "Jessie you're amazing and of c you got this you're a superwoman," said Pixie Lott. Hits Radio presenter James Barr added: "Sending you so much love. Breaks my heart you have been holding that, thanks for sharing. We can all be here for you now. Sending healing energy."
Jessie is due to perform at Capital FM's Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium on June 15, before undergoing surgery.

Jessie J experiences her 'worst day so far' since cancer diagnosis
Jessie J has revealed she's had her 'worst day so far' since she was diagnosed with 'early breast cancer' a few months ago. The 37-year-old singer is best known for hits including Price Tag, Domino and Bang Bang, as well as appearing on The Voice UK, The Voice Australia and The Voice Kids UK. Jessie, real name Jessica Ellen Cornish, was recently diagnosed with cancer and has now shared an update with her fans about her health. 'Honestly. Had my worst day so far yesterday since my diagnosis and the busiest 3 months I have had in years. 'Work. Toddler. Cancer. Life etc had my mind [low battery emojis],' she shared on Instagram. 'Panic attacks/ tears/ big fears /anger /overwhelm Bad. And you know what helped? 'I ate corn on the cob. Turns out it's extremely hard to panic or cry while eating one. Highly recommend. Instant mood shift,' she said. She then told her followers that she thinks it's important to speak about the harder parts of her cancer journey as she thinks it's 'healthy and needed' to acknowledge her fears. 'IMO. It's key to acknowledge fear anger sadness panic overwhelm and let it come up and come out. Holding it in won't make it go away. In any challenging situation in life. 'So when I posted what I did yesterday about my current challenge in life, also while making light of the situation [corn on the cob emoji]. 'That was one day in 10 weeks that I just lost it and was completely drowned in all the negative and bad feelings any cancer journey can bring. Which is healthy and needed. IMO.' Jessie explained: 'I say this because I had a lot of people since I posted that say to me things like 'Don't think about the negative' and 'Good thoughts only' and don't get me wrong, I know all are meant with intention and love. 'But it's sparked me thinking about how interesting it is in what we individually see as being strong is. I have always advocated for being real. Honest in your feelings. We can not heal what we don't acknowledge etc. Just don't unpack your suitcase and live in it. Or let it define you. 'So I will be scared, I will panic, I will feel all of it. For a minute or even a full day.' If you or someone you care about has been diagnosed with cancer, Macmillan can offer support and information. You can contact their helpline on 0808 808 00 00 (7 days a week from 8am to 8pm), use their webchat service, or visit their site for more information. Announcing the news of her diagnosis on Instagram, Jessie explained she received the health news just before the release of her song No Secrets in April. 'Before No Secrets came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,' she explained. 'I'm highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding on to the word early.' Just last week, the singer revealed her hidden pain after having five biopsies and then performed on stage straight after. She shared a video of herself performing at Ronnie Scott's and revealed in the caption: 'I had 5 breast biopsies the night before this show. More Trending 'I was in some discomfort but so hyped to do it, and I didn't want to cancel. The more I watch this show back, I can see my brain working in complete overdrive trying not to blurt it all out = 😂🧟♀️🥴' In the video, she made a comment about her breasts, which were clearly on her mind at the time. 'Being truthful in who you are, not your mates or your family or everyone else, but like what you love and who you are. What makes you special. That's all I wanna focus on.' She then referenced her boobs as she said: 'And my huge, perfect t**s. You know what I mean?' Got a story?
