Fears had been raised for missing 14-year-old Layton Carr's well-being after he went missing in the area.
In a missing person's appeal, cops said the force was "growing increasingly concerned" about Layton, who had last been seen at around 7pm that night.
The teen was described as 5ft 6ins tall, with short brown hair.
He was tragically found dead inside the building near Fairfield industrial park on Friday night.
A police spokesman said: 'Sadly, following searches carried out by Northumbria Police and partners at Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, a body believed to be that of 14-year-old Layton Carr was located deceased inside the building.

'His next of kin have been informed and are currently being supported by specialist officers.'
Tributes poured in for Layton after his tragic discovery.
His youth worker wrote: "A lush lad with his whole life ahead of him."
Another wrote on Facebook: "Rest easy Layton kid forever 14."

There are 11 boys and three girls under arrest and in custody.
Police were alerted to reports of the fire on Friday shortly after 8pm.
Fire brigades tackled the blaze for two hours, declaring a major incident.

A police spokesman added that 'inquiries are at an early stage and members of the public are asked not to speculate online or in the community'.
Detective Chief Inspector Louise Jenkins, of Northumbria Police, said: 'This is an extremely tragic incident where a boy has sadly lost his life.
'Our thoughts are with Layton's family as they begin to attempt to process the loss of their loved one.
'Our specialist officers will continue to support them in whatever way they can.

'We ask that their privacy be respected at this time.'

She said a cordon is in place while police carry out enquiries to establish 'the full circumstances surrounding the incident' and officers will be in the area to 'offer reassurance to the public'.

Thousands have been raised after a Filipino mechanic's home was targeted in the Ballymena riots. Kevin Rous, a mechanic at the nearby Wrightbus Factory, had his car destroyed and Cullybackey home damaged in an arson attack during violent disorder in Ballymena on Monday night. He had been working at the time of the attack in the family, with his family being left terrified during the ordeal. On Tuesday evening during further disorder in Ballymena, some Filipino residents posted their country's flag on their doors in the hopes of not being targeted by racist attacks. Following the attack on Kevin's home, a fundraiser has been set up by Zuzanna Dziwulska in the hopes of supporting the mechanic and helping him to get back on his feet. A post on GoFundMe read: 'We all know about the incidents which have been ongoing in Ballymena. This fundraiser has no political intent. 'I hope as residents of Ballymena/Cullybackey we can agree innocent people should not be punished by the actions of others. 'Therefore I am hoping to fundraise a small amount of money and get in contact with Kevin Rous in Cullybackey who has had his family unfortunately hit by an attack. 'Everyone should feel safe in Ballymena and hopefully we can help get this man's life back on track. '24 hours in we have gone way over target, I have managed to get in contact with Kev and his family and am now going through the process of getting money to them. 'I have also been reached by the wider Filipino community so it would be great if we could also give others affected a helping hand'. The family of a Wicklow woman who sustained life-changing injuries after she was marathon training in Sicily have been struck with tragedy once again following the death of their 17-year-old son. Hannah Leonard was training for the Dublin Marathon when she was struck by a car on October 6, last year. The young woman was hit while crossing a pedestrian crossing, and has been in Beaumont Hospital since the beginning of the year while she awaits a place in the National Rehabilitation Hospital. In his latest update, Kevin admitted he wasn't going to do an update following the death of his son Dylan, aged 17, but was then met with a 'beautiful sign.' Kevin wrote: 'And so tragedy has visited our family again, this time more final. Hannah has tragically lost her younger brother Dylan. I wasn't going to do an update this week but then we got the most beautiful sign that he has wrapped his guardian angel wings around his sister. Young girl injured in Parnell Square attack 'back in school'
The young girl who was seriously injured in a stabbing incident on Parnell Square is "back in school" and "getting stronger again" after an "unexpected stay back in hospital". The little girl, who was aged five at the time of the horror November attack in 2023 was critically injured and spent 281 days in Temple Street Children's Hospital before being released at the end of August last year. Two other children and a carer, who also sustained injuries, received treatment in hospital before being released. A fundraiser was set up for the young girl, called Barróg do Chailín Beag or a Hug For A Little Girl, with her family sharing updates on her health as people continue to donate to the fundraiser.
