Samsung working on Galaxy Book 6 lineup, Ultra model likely included
The folks at SamMobile now report that Samsung has started work on the new laptops from the Galaxy Book 6 series, and that this time, Samsung will bring back the Ultra model.
It's still an early phase of the development, and leaks have not given us a picture of what to expect from the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra specifications, though. Right now, we only know that the Ultra model may happen this time around.

If Samsung follows this strategy, we can expect a dedicated GPU on the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra as well, while the rest of the Galaxy Book 6 models may have an integrated GPU. Basically, the base model of the series is more for students and work, while the Ultra model is targeted at offering the best performance for heavy users.
The Galaxy Book 3 Ultra and Book 4 Ultra offered similar GPU options: an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 and an RTX 4070. Meanwhile, now we have the RTX 5000 series, so it's possible the next-gen Galaxy Book Ultra model may adopt a newer RTX 5000 GPU. Meanwhile, for reference, the Galaxy Book 5 series has three models in it: a base Galaxy Book 5 360, a Galaxy Book 5 Pro, and a Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360. The Galaxy Book 5 Pro features the power-efficient and capable Intel Core Ultra 7 256V processor and 16GB of RAM, a gorgeous AMOLED screen, and a long-lasting battery. I think that if Samsung really brings back the Ultra model with the Galaxy Book 6 series, a lot of power users will be happy. It means more choice for people who want serious performance, like creators and professionals. It's still early, so we'll have to wait for more details, but it's exciting to see Samsung going in this direction again.

That's why the widespread perception is that smartphones have generally allegedly challenge that view by incorporating super-duper, giga-mega fast RAM At first reading, that sounds… underwhelming. Faster RAM. Is that it? Frankly, considering the S25 Ultra is already lightning-quick, my first reaction was a shrug. I don't need apps to open in the blink of an eye when they already open in… the blink of an here's where it gets interesting. This rumored RAM upgrade might not just be about speed. If the leaks are correct, the new chips will be physically thinner. That matters because every fraction of a millimeter inside a smartphone is prime real in this case, thinner RAM could free up precious space for something we actually care about: a bigger battery. That suddenly turns this "meh" upgrade into a potentially great expected to move from LPDDR5X RAM based on Micron's 1β (1-beta) process technology to a new 1γ (1-gamma) generation. That's space Samsung could use for a bigger vapor chamber, an upgraded camera sensor… or, most importantly, a bigger top of that, 1γ RAM is said to deliver up to 20% better energy efficiency than 1β. That means not only could a larger battery fit, but the phone might sip power more slowly – stretching battery life even the thing: RAM speed is already so far ahead of what everyday phone use demands that chasing more of it feels like polishing an already sparkling set of silver cutlery. The S25 Ultra launches apps in well under a second. Even if theshaves that time by 0.1 seconds, you'll never notice it outside a benchmark faster RAM matters for extreme workloads – think high-resolution video editing or certain AI processing tasks – but for 99% of the stuff most of us do, the benefit is live in a time where performance is so good that gains in raw speed don't translate into better day-to-day experiences the way they once did. What matters more now is efficiency and endurance. And that's where this RAM upgrade could quietly batteries, however, are so cool. I love the idea of a phone that just doesn't need to see a charger every night. Galaxy S26 Edge with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 spotted on Geekbench
Michail, 12 August 2025 While most of the recent Galaxy S26 Edge rumors are pondering over the phone's battery capacity, a new Geekbench listing seemingly has confirmed its chipset. Samsung's next thin and light device will be equipped with Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. The device appeared with the SM-S947U identifier – likely the U.S. variant of the phone and we now have our first benchmark for Qualcomm's next flagship chip. Keep in mind that this is a pre-production unit, so these scores will be higher on the final consumer version. Galaxy S26 Edge (SM-S947U) Geekbench listing The upcoming flagship chipset will feature an eight-core CPU with 2x prime cores clocked @4.74 GHz and 6x performance cores running @3.63 GHz. These CPU frequencies are higher than the SD Elite's 4.32GHz and 3.53GHz. A report from last month suggested that Qualcomm is testing the SD Elite 2 with up to 4.6GHz CPU clock speed for the regular version and 4.74 GHz for the Galaxy version. The S26 Edge achieved 3,393 single-core and 11,515 multi-core scores. These scores are slightly higher than the S25 Edge's 3,131 and 9,391 outings, representing 8% and 22% gains, respectively.
