Psychiatrist report on Eleanor Donaldson's health expected on Monday

, is expected to be ready on Monday, a court has been told.
Their trial had been scheduled for March but was postponed days before it was due to begin because of Ms Donaldson's ill-health.
A fresh date for the trial has been set for November.
Previous court hearings have been told Ms Donaldson was mentally unwell and under the care of a medical consultant.

A forensic psychiatric assessment to determine whether she is medically fit to stand trial took place on July 18th, Belfast Crown Court heard on Friday. The report is expected after the weekend.
Mr Donaldson (62), with an address in Dromore, Co Down, has previously pleaded not guilty to 18 offences – one count of rape, four of gross indecency with or towards a child, and 13 of indecent assault on a female, on dates between 1987 and 2008.
Ms Donaldson (59), of the same address, has pleaded not guilty to five counts of aiding and abetting in connection with the charges faced by her husband.
Mr and Ms Donaldson were not in court on Friday, as neither defendant was required to attend.

During the brief review hearing, judge Paul Ramsey said he was 'keen to keep matters under observation so we can make sure that the trial is not interfered with'.
A further review date was set for September 11th.
The judge also agreed to sign a third-party application for the release of Ms Donaldson's hospital notes and records.
Defence barrister Ian Turkington said the court 'would be familiar with the log jam within the [health] trusts in relation to the provision of medical notes and records' and his team had 'been trying to get these notes for months now'.
He said his understanding was that without such an application, 'it's six months otherwise' to obtain the required information. 'Your Honour can obtain these notes quicker, much, much quicker,' he said.
Mr Donaldson, who was the long-standing MP for Lagan Valley, resigned as DUP leader and was suspended from the party after he was arrested and charged in March 2024.
Weeks before his arrest, he had led the DUP back into Stormont after a two-year boycott of the Northern powersharing institutions.
Previous deputy leader Gavin Robinson took over as head of the DUP.

Fermanagh farmer convicted over animals in 'poor condition'
A Co. Fermanagh farmer has been convicted in court over the condition of animals on his farm. 78-year-old Wesley Lee of Cleenish Road, Cleenish, Bellanaleck, Enniskillen was today (Wednesday, August 6) convicted at Enniskillen Court on two charges under the Welfare of Animals Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 and one under the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013. Lee was convicted on: Two charges of failure to ensure the needs of animals were met; One charge of failure to produce a medicine record when required. The farmer was convicted and fined £600 plus £15 offender levy and £72 summons fee. The case arose following numerous welfare inspections carried out by Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) Veterinary Service officials between April 13, 2023 and September 4, 2023. During these inspections, one sheep was found to be caught on briars and was euthanised by a DAERA veterinary officer as, in their opinion, it was suffering unnecessarily. There were a number of lame animals and animals in poor condition on the premises being kept in dirty conditions without access to clean drinking water. There was no evidence of suitable pens for calving or suitable isolation pens for sick or injured animals and young calves had no access to dry lying areas. During one of the inspections, one of the sick animals died. Lee was asked to provide medicine records to demonstrate treatment of the lame and sick animals seen, but was unable to provide such. DAERA has stated that it gives high priority to the welfare of animals and operates a vigorous enforcement policy to ensure full compliance of regulatory requirements. Any breaches are investigated thoroughly and offenders prosecuted as necessary, it added. The improper use of medicines in animals presents a risk to human health, DAERA has stressed. This is of particular relevance when it comes to observing withdrawal times of medicines administered to animals which are subsequently slaughtered for human consumption. The main areas for concern are: The slaughter for human consumption of an animal before the recommended withdrawal period has been observed for drugs which may themselves have direct side effects in humans; The slaughter of animals entering the food chain containing a drug to which human pathogens are capable of developing a resistance which may reduce the effectiveness with which human diseases can be controlled by a drug. If proper medicine records are not kept, there is a risk of animals which have been treated, but whose withdrawal periods have not been observed, being slaughtered for human consumption, or sold on to another herd from which they will be slaughtered for human consumption without withdrawal times being observed.

Businessman who ‘doused himself in petrol' during dispute denies charges
Caspar Lund is on bail facing three charges arising from an incident on 19 May this year A barrister for a Co Down businessman who doused himself in petrol and threatened to set himself alight in a neighbour dispute, confirmed today the defendant is denying the offences. Caspar John Lund had been excused from attending Newtownards Magistrates Court where defence counsel Peter Canavan confirmed the 52-year-old 'wants to pleads not guilty' to each of the three charges against him. Lund, from Clanbrassil Terrace in Holywood, is on bail facing three charges arising from an incident on 19 May this year. An earlier court heard how the charges arise after Lund 'poured petrol over himself and threatened to set fire to himself' at the Cultra apartment block overlooking Belfast Lough. Fearing the potentially lethal consequences, the people upstairs, 'a couple in their 80s, contacted the police.' Caspar Lund Officers attended and detained Lund but due to concerns over his mental health, he was taken to the Ulster Hospital and when he was there, Lund was allegedly behaving in a disorderly manner. While Mr Canavan formally entered not guilty pleas today, the court has heard before that Lund 'admitted the incident at interview and he accepts the facts.' Adjourning the case to 26 August to fix a date for the contest, District Judge Mark Hamill said Lund could be excused from attending that hearing as well. The judge warned however that if the 52-year-old failed to attend the trial, 'it will proceed in his absence.'

Police probe church incident where Burke family confronted education official
Police in Northern Ireland are carrying out inquiries into an incident where members of the Burke family accosted a DUP councillor outside a Presbyterian church. Mervyn Storey, a former MLA for North Antrim – who is now a councillor, was approached by members of the protesting evangelical Christian family outside the Hebron Free Presbyterian Church in Ballymoney. In a video posted to one of the Burkes' social media accounts on Monday evening, Mr Storey – who is the chairman of the Education Authority in Northern Ireland – goes into the church while being asked questions by Martina Burke and her son Josiah.
