
Hodeida Economy Office logs 80 supply violations post-Eid
Hodeida's Economy, Industry, and Investment Office on Wednesday reported 80 supply violations during Eid al-Adha inspections, targeting 449 shops.
Violations included 27 instances of price gouging, 8 sales of expired goods, and 39 bakery infractions, leading to two closures.
Office Director Saleh Atifa affirmed ongoing efforts to protect consumers and regulate markets, vowing strict enforcement against manipulators and continued widespread inspections.

Yemeni Customs to enforce permanent ban on American-origin products starting August 19
Sana'a – Saba: The Yemeni Customs Authority announced that, in accordance with the minutes of the Central Committee for Boycotting American and Israeli Products meeting held on July 15, 2025, the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Investment has directed that American products currently present at customs ports be allowed entry until August 18, 2025, as a temporary and exceptional measure. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the Authority clarified that this step is in preparation for implementing Prime Minister's Decision No. (10) of 1446 AH, which mandates a complete and permanent ban on the entry of American and Israeli goods, commodities, and products after this date. Any such items will be handled according to re-export procedures, with no exceptions for entry. The Customs Authority called on all ports, border crossings, and customs centers to fully comply with this directive and coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure proper enforcement of the boycott decision. Hodeida launches milk transport tanker for dairy value chain
Hodeida - Saba: Hodeida governorate inaugurated on Sunday a new milk transport tanker, funded by the Hodeida Support and Development Fund for the General Corporation for Agricultural Services, in coordination with the Agricultural Cooperative Union. The 30 million Yemeni Y.R initiative aims to bolster dairy value chains and enhance infrastructure for transporting milk from production areas to processing facilities under hygienic and safe conditions. Director of the Economy, Industry, and Investment Office in the governorate Saleh Atifa stated that the refrigerated tanker, with a capacity of 20,000-25,000 liters, marks a significant step in localizing the dairy industry by ensuring the quality and safety of milk during transport.
