‘Travelling in 1BHK: Woman shares photo of the 'coolest Uber ride' packed with medicines, food and more
An Uber ride has gone viral on social media after a woman shared her extraordinary experience of travelling in a car so well-equipped, she likened it to living in a one-bedroom apartment. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), she uploaded photos of the ride's interior and wrote, 'Literally traveling in a 1bhk today. Hands down the coolest Uber ride ever!'
The images quickly caught attention online. They revealed an impressively organised setup inside the car, with shelves and holders attached to the backs of the front seats. The driver had stocked the vehicle with an assortment of cold drinks, water bottles, snacks like chips, toys, basic medicines, and even a dustbin, offering passengers a truly homely experience during their commute.
Among the items neatly arranged were bottles of water, energy drinks, chocolates, biscuits, tissues, toothbrush holders, and umbrellas. Small labels marked each section clearly, one spot had tablets like Digene, Disprin, and Citrizine for motion sickness or other emergencies. Another area was designated for tissues, an umbrella, and even a packet of ready-to-eat snacks.
In the second image, a donation box for children's education was seen hanging behind the passenger seat, along with a board explaining that Wi-Fi was available inside the car for free. The Wi-Fi password was written clearly for passengers, adding another layer of hospitality to the ride.
The Uber driver, Abdul Qadeer, had also placed a feedback diary encouraging passengers to share their experience both in the book and on Uber's app. Above the driver's seat, a newspaper clipping highlighting Abdul's work as a remarkable Uber driver was proudly displayed.
A motivational quote was also placed at the back, reading:
'Musalasal gham uthane se kahin behtar hai kinara kar liya jaye kinara karne walo se' (It's better to move away from those who constantly bring sorrow.)
Social media users quickly flooded the comments with reactions. One user wrote, 'You're not paying him the fare, you're paying him the rent,' capturing the vibe perfectly. Another noted, 'That feedback book in the seat pocket,' pointing out the personal touch offered by the driver.

Another added, 'Top tier wholesome.'

Uber To Offer Helicopter Taxis In Italy's Amalfi Coast To Beat Traffic
People in Italy will be able to use helicopters this summer to get around the Southern part of the country, according to Uber. Travellers on Italy's iconic Amalfi Coast can reserve a private Uber Copter from July 26 to August 23 between Sorrento and Capri and avoid traffic. The booking for 'Uber Copter' can be done in just a few minutes using the Uber app; however, it should be done 48 hours in advance. The dual-pilot helicopter service will operate every Saturday and Sunday, with the per-head cost being around Rs24,450 (Euro 250). The helicopter will depart at 9:00am (local time) from Sorrento and return from Capri at 5:00pm (am). The journey includes door-to-door transportation to and from the helipad and is available for groups of up to six passengers. Uber is also launching Uber Boat in Italy between July 26 to August 24. The travellers will sail from Sorrento Marina on Italian Gozzo 35 boats, enjoying the breathtaking views of the coastline. Private charters are available for up to 12 people. As quoted by The Independent, Anabel Diaz, vice president, EMEA Mobility at Uber, said: "At Uber, we strive to help our customers go anywhere, wherever they are travelling. Italy is fast becoming one of our most popular tourist destinations, with travellers turning to the Uber app to help make their holiday travel stress-free. This summer, we're adding a series of unforgettable experiences that will make travelling by land, sea or air more magical than ever before." Not for public transport- Part 1: As rain lashes Pune, auto and cab fares bleed citizens dry
By Kavyaa Masurkar & Antara Kulkarni Since the start of the monsoon, commuters in Pune have been grappling with the dual challenge of uncooperative auto rickshaw drivers and soaring fares on app-based platforms. With many drivers either refusing to ply or demanding extra charge and cab aggregators quoting fares significantly higher than meter rates, passengers are left unsure of what a fair fare is and how much they need to pay.. 'It took almost an hour just to book an auto from Pimpri Chinchwad to Lohegaon. When I finally succeeded, the app showed Rs 715 for the ride,' said Trisha Dasgupta, a PR professional. She added, 'It's worrying how expensive and difficult travel has become in Pune. If we have to spend so much and wait so long, how will middle-class people manage? Either we need a personal vehicle or end up spending excessively on rickshaws and cabs.' Sai Bhandarkar, a second-year student at BJ Medical College, shared similar concerns. 'Cab and auto rates vary a lot, especially during the rainy season,' she said. 'Most of the time, we're expected to tip the driver up to 30% of the displayed fare just to get a confirmed ride. Also, if you check the same route more than three times on the app, the price shoots up by around 15%.' Surge pricing has only added to the chaos. With traffic delays, waterlogged roads, and increased demand during peak hours, commuters say that ride-hailing platforms are capitalising on the inconvenience. 'Especially when there's traffic and when many people are looking to book a ride, tend to increase their prices. It shouldn't be happening,' said Dhirendra Kulkarni, a presales professional. Meghna Menon, owner of Zenscrawl, a garment store in Koregaon Park, echoed similar feelings. 'Surge pricing for both autos and cabs has become a regular problem,' she said. 'With the metro network still incomplete, people like me don't have many options. The confusion between meter fares and app pricing only makes things worse. Commuting in Pune has become exhausting, and we're often left at the mercy of apps and drivers who take advantage of the situation.' A media professional talked about how an Uber driver duped her by asking for extra fare for putting on the AC in her cab. 'He said the ruling had just come the evening earlier and showed an old video to convince me. As there were so many new regulations coming up with aggregator vehicles. I believed him and paid an extra Rs 100, only to realise later that I had been duped. Despite raising a complaint, there was no follow-up or refund of the amount. This is what these services have come to.' At present, Uber autorickshaws in Pune ply by meter leaving many passengers already complaining about the higher-than-usual Bhowmick, a sales professional, said that if autos are plying by meters, the concept of surge pricing should not apply in Pune. 'The concept of surge pricing was meant to compensate for the demand – but that should have been there to compensate for the discounted first prices. So why should they be around now,' he said. Traveling in Pune during monsoon has always troublesome but with autorickshaws and cabs hiking their fares, it has become costlier too.
