Mohd Khalid officially takes helm as Malaysia's 15th IGP
The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) announced that Mohd Khalid arrived at the police headquarters in Bukit Aman in an official vehicle and received a 'Guard Turn Out' honour from the Camp Commandant Branch, signaling the start of a new era in the force's top leadership.
According to PDRM, he was greeted by Management Director Datuk Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid, Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri, and acting Commercial Crime Investigation Department Director Datuk Seri Sri Muhammed Hasbullah Ali upon his arrival.
'Mohd Khalid was then escorted to the 31st floor to sign his appointment document as a symbolic start to his duties.
'The ceremony was also graced with a prayer led by Bukit Aman's Integrity and Standard Compliance Department Deputy Director (Religion and Counselling), Datuk Azhan Abdul Halim,' the PDRM stated in a Facebook post. — Bernama

Referring to reports of a police investigation regarding the controversy, he said: 'We shall wait and see whether anyone will eventually be charged in court,' Malaysiakini reported him as saying in a speech in Klang today. In a video on social media, Chang took further shots at an 'irresponsible politician' for stoking tensions during the Merdeka month. 'It's not only irresponsible, it is an act of bullying. Everyone knows who I am talking about.' His remarks appeared to be about Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh, who led a group to a hardware shop in Penang after its owner was reported to have accidentally hung the national flag upside down. 'We are a nation and society governed by the rule of law. If there is a problem, lodge a police report and let the authorities take action. 'You are not an enforcement agency. You cannot just bring a group of people to someone's shop, disrupt their business and bully them,' Chang said.

Home Minister: Foreigner's Visa Status Does Not Grant Immunity To Break Malaysian Law
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 (Bernama) -- The visa status held by foreigners does not grant them immunity to break the law in this country. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said firm and stringent action will be taken against any foreign national who violates Malaysia's laws, including breaching pass conditions, posing a security threat, or disturbing public order. He said actions taken include pass cancellation, blacklisting, and deportation to the country of origin, and this principle is applied consistently, irrespective of the individual's background or status. "Visa status, whether as a student, investor, long-term visit pass holder, or participant in the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme, does not provide immunity from the laws of this country. "The safety of Malaysians and the sovereignty of the nation are non-negotiable priorities," he said in a statement tonight. Saifuddin said the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) consistently carries out its enforcement duties in a professional manner, without discrimination or exceptions based on race or country of origin, particularly in cases involving foreigners. He added that the law investigates all reports involving foreign nationals and takes appropriate action to ensure public safety, including in cases that receive media coverage. "Recent incidents involving foreigners that have gone viral have drawn public attention, but it must be emphasised that each case will be handled properly through existing laws," he said. He further said that Malaysia has specified that the recruitment of low-skilled foreign workers is permitted only from 15 officially designated source countries, and China is not among them.
