PKR Youth gathers outside US embassy to protest Adams' nomination as envoy pick
Several PKR Youth leaders were seen gathering at a special area near the embassy on Jalan Tun Razak before they walked over to hand over an official memorandum as a protest towards Adams' nomination, reported Sinar Harian.
Police presence was also seen at the embassy to ensure safety and a peaceful gathering.
Previously, PKR Youth had opposed Adams' nomination, saying that the American had uttered anti-Islam and anti-immigration remarks.
Recently, US President Donald Trump nominated Adams as the US ambassador to Malaysia.
Adams' nomination has been criticised by both sides of the political divide, with many criticising his far-right views and vocal support of the Israeli regime.
Adam's nomination by Trump will have to be approved by the US Senate before he can assume the role.
Former de facto law minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim and former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin have said Malaysia has every right under the Vienna Convention to reject Adams' appointment without providing a reason.
A staunch supporter of Israel, Adams had previously compared those who expressed solidarity with the Palestinian plight with those who supported terrorism.
PKR Youth have also said that it intends to submit a formal memorandum of protest to the US embassy, urging the appointment of a more moderate, respected and globally-minded individual, who will embody the spirit of mutual respect and cooperation that has long underpinned US-Malaysia relations.

Earlier, Ahmad Amzad had posted a message advising the Prime Minister to be careful in choosing appropriate attire during the 13MP presentation in the Dewan Rakyat. In that post, he also questioned Anwar's decision to wear a batik shirt with an Indonesian design, arguing that the attire on Thursday was meant to highlight the uniqueness of Malaysian batik as a heritage and national identity before deleting his statement. Ahmad Amzad expressed his gratitude to all parties who provided feedback and clarified that his intention was simply to offer a perspective as a concerned representative for the local batik industry. "To the Prime Minister, I apologise. My intention was merely to provide a viewpoint because, as a representative from Terengganu who frequently interacts with many Malaysian batik entrepreneurs, one of the issues often raised is the fate of the Malaysian batik industry. "I apologise once again. Respectfully," he said.

Palestinian student in France investigated over antisemitic posts
LILLE: A Palestinian student from Gaza is under investigation in France for allegedly posting antisemitic messages online, leading to the revocation of her university accreditation. Officials confirmed she will have to leave the country. France's Sciences Po university in Lille cancelled the student's enrolment after accusations surfaced. Putin signs law fining searches for extremist content in Russia
MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law imposing fines on internet users who search for content labelled as 'extremist' by authorities. The legislation, criticised as a crackdown on free expression, penalises individuals up to 5,000 rubles ($64) for accessing banned materials. The law targets searches for web pages, books, music, or artwork deemed extremist.
