AC/DC Sends Multiple Smashes Back To The Billboard Charts
Of all the many hits that AC/DC has released throughout the years, two stand out as the group's most enduring in the United States. It's those two tracks — 'Thunderstruck' and 'Back in Black' — that most frequently appear on the Billboard rankings. Between the two, 'Thunderstruck' can almost always be found on multiple lists, while during the right frames, 'Back in Black' also carves out a home on a ranking or two.
Both of those smashes currently appear on multiple tallies, and they even manage to return to one chart apiece and live on another as well.
'Back in Black' Returns to the Top 10
Of the two comebacks, 'Back in Black' earns the loftier return at the moment. The tune reenters the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart at No. 10, coming in last place. The smash already ranks as one of AC/DC's top-performing cuts on the list of the bestselling hard rock tracks in the country, and it recently passed a decade on the tally.
As it returns to the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, 'Back in Black' is also a winner again on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs tally, where it slips slightly to No. 24.
'Thunderstruck' Becomes a Global Smash Again
'Thunderstruck' also breaks back onto one list, and while it earns a much lower comeback than 'Back in Black,' it appears on twice as many Billboard rankings.
'Thunderstruck' reappears on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. in second-to-last place, at No. 199. At the same time, it climbs 10 spots on the Billboard Global 200 to No. 158, as American consumption clearly plays a big role in where AC/DC's track lands on the worldwide roster.
'Thunderstruck' Rockets to No. 1
'Thunderstruck' performs significantly better when looking at Billboard's U.S.-based tallies. The cut jumps from No. 3 to No. 1 on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales ranking, earning its sixty-first stay in the penthouse. The tune is a top five win on two of the company's hard rock-only lists, as 'Thunderstruck' pushes to No. 4 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs roster.

'It's sacred': The secret friend-making power of the women's bathroom
Women spill the tea, hype each other up and find refuge in the privacy of public bathrooms. What makes them so special? Lexi Duncan and her best friend, Ashley Lawson, live in different cities, so they don't get to see each other often. But on one of their rare nights together, in Fort Wayne, Ind., a few years ago, they both went to the women's bathroom. Duncan, 33, filmed as the two looked in the mirror "because we barely spend time together and she looked so cute that night,' Duncan tells Yahoo. They primped, they posed and then another girl burst into the bathroom, clearly distressed and asked, 'How do I get rid of a guy?' Duncan and Lawson didn't miss a beat. 'We just immediately were like, yes, absolutely,' says Duncan. She and Lawson introduced themselves, announced on the spot, 'we're your friends,' and asked the new girl questions to establish a credible back story. Because, of course. The two best friends took their new bathroom buddy back to their table and called her an Uber at the end of the night. 'Ashley and I kind of sacrificed our one night together, but we chatted, got to know her, it was a chill night,' says Duncan. The whole thing was caught on Duncan's phone camera. The video — captioned 'I love meeting girls in the bathroom lmao' — generated 1.6 million likes on TikTok and comments about the safe haven that is the women's restroom. The girls' bathroom trope is familiar to many women in real life, and it's reflected in pop culture too. A friendship (to say the least) is born between Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman's characters in that bathroom scene in the first episode of Netflix's The Hunting Wives. In an episode of The Office, the male employees venture into the women's room to discover it's replete with couches and candles — the kind of place you can bond. Tears have been shed, tea has been spilled and friendships have been formed in the women's bathroom. So what is it about this ubiquitous place that imbues it with a special friend-making power that frankly, just doesn't seem to be a thing at the men's urinals? The 'platonic intimacy of women' Amid the loneliness epidemic that seems to be hitting men especially hard, there's a lot of research and general conversation happening about what makes men's and women's friendships so different. A piece of that puzzle seems to be that 'women experience more platonic intimacy compared to men,' Danielle Bayard Jackson, author of Fighting for our Friendships: The Science and Art of Conflict and Connection in Women's Relationships, tells Yahoo Life. Research suggests there's a higher expectation for intimacy in women's friendships, which comes in part from the central role that emotional connection, openness and even physical affection play in their relationships. For Duncan, the women's bathroom is a perfect setting for platonic intimacy. 'You go in there and refresh, and tell your friend, 'Girl, you need some gum,' and it's a place where you can have more intimate conversations, even more so than when you're sitting next to one another at the bar,' she says. As one viral video last year showed, men seem to be more comfortable with side-by-side interactions, while women tend to relate face to face. Women are 'socialized from a very young age to tell others how we feel, that it's safe to cry and, when we interact with one another, it's encouraged to listen and validate one another,' says Bayard Jackson. It's even part of how girls play when they're young: They play pretend facing one another, whereas young boys do activities next to one another, says Vivian Zayas, a Cornell University psychology professor. From a young age, "we're trained to nurture, so it's natural to experience more intimacy together," Bayard Jackson says of women. With the groundwork for intimacy laid, it can happen fast in that very intimate space: the bathroom. The three S's of female friendship (and bathrooms) While writing her book, Bayard Jackson pored over voluminous research on women's friendships. She's distilled much of that work into what she calls her 'framework of the three affinities of female friendship': symmetry, support and secrecy. They also exist in male friendships, but Bayard Jackson says that women prioritize them. And, yes, she sees evidence of all three in the women's bathroom. Symmetry is the sense of sameness between women. 'What is the most humanizing factor? You gotta go to the restroom. It has this flattening effect; it doesn't matter what the other differences are, the unifier is being a woman.' Next up is support, the No. 1 element that women look for in same-sex friendships. Duncan and Lawson certainly gave it to the girl they saved from a bad date, and Duncan has received it, albeit in a lesser crisis: 'I have definitely been in the bathroom and other women have hyped me up when I'm insecure about my outfit,' she says. 'You have your own personal hype-woman when you go into the bathroom.' And in The Hunting Wives, Akerman's character asks for support (in the form of a pad) and Snow's gets some in return (a place to hide from the party). And finally, secrecy. It's not so much literal secrets (though the Hunting Wives have plenty of them) as 'the essence of it; we're in this sacred place of disclosure and sharing,' within a female friendship, says Bayard Jackson. But it's that essence that becomes literal in the bathroom, according to Duncan. 'It sounds a little goofy … but it's a sacred space: What happens in the girls' bathroom stays in the girls' bathroom,' says Duncan. It's that rare place that's both public and private, where we're alone, but together, in a vulnerable state. 'The bathroom is a physical representation, it's a vault of secrets and quick whispers, and the sharing of yourself is literally the glue of women's friendships,' says Bayard Jackson. Taylor Swift reveals ‘Life of a Showgirl' album release date, cover art and track list on Travis Kelce's "New Heights" podcast
The new release is Swift's 12th album. It's no longer a cruel summer. Taylor Swift officially announced her new album The Life of a Showgirl on Aug. 12. And one day later, she shared more details about the upcoming work — including the cover art, track list and release date — as well as other surprises during her appearance on boyfriend Travis Kelce's podcast, New Heights. Fans noticed Swift was up to something earlier in the day, when a cryptic countdown was posted on Swift's "Taylor Nation" Instagram Story. The countdown led to 7 p.m. — when the New Heights podcast episode was set to drop. The post showed a glowing orange door, the same one that appeared on stage behind Swift during the Eras tour, as well as a link to Swift's website, which featured the same image, with the door slowly descending. Over the course of four hours, on every hour, four squares with locks at the center appeared next to the door. First there was an orange lock, then pink, then blue and finally white. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that in the center of each lock, where a key would be placed, was the same shape as the stage layout at the Eras tour. When 7 p.m. arrived, Swift's website revealed the cover of The Life of a Showgirl, which featured Swift in a sparkling outfit, laying in a pool of green water. The four squares corresponded to deluxe editions of the album. All are available until Aug. 16, while supplies last. Swift's Instagram post also revealed the release date of the new album: Oct. 3. Also at 7 p.m. came the drop of Swift's special episode of New Heights, hosted by Swift's boyfriend Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce. Swift discussed the Eras Tour, reclaiming her masters and her relationship with the NFL player in the episode. Swift also talked about what inspired the 12 songs that were written during her time on tour, calling it a look at what went on "behind the curtain" in her personal life. She said that unlike her albums Midnights and The Tortured Poets Department, which came with surprise additional songs, there would only be the already revealed 12 tracks on this album. Swift explained that the new work "comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life, and so that effervescence has come through on this record." She also teased that there is additional photography and a poem on the inside of the album that will be revealed when the record drops. Swift added that while past albums were more lyrically focused, Showgirl will boast "infectious anthems" that will have "lyrics that are just as vivid but crisp and focused and completely intentional." Swift's initial album reveal came in the form of a teaser for the podcast episode — but the clip, dropped on social media at 12:12 a.m., held back some key details. The podcast clip showed Swift holding the album, but with the cover art blurred out, revealing only the green-and-orange color scheme. Swift, who completed her worldwide Eras tour in 2024, has long dropped "Easter eggs," or clues about her future work, for fans. The Life of a Showgirl album drop is no exception. A video posted to social media ahead of Swift's Miami performance on Oct. 18, 2024, showed the artist standing in front of section A12 — a clue as to when her album announcement would arrive. That night, she also performed her 1989 album set in orange and green — the colors of the Miami Hurricanes, in whose home stadium Swift performed, and also a hint at the aesthetic of the album to come. Swift has been regularly spotted in orange-and-green outfits over the past year, possibly foreshadowing the color scheme of the album. And one of the bigger clues came in the official music video for 'I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,' which featured backstage moments from the Eras tour. In the video, dancers rehearsed using orange feather fans — a prop that was never used on stage. The Eras tour performance of 'I Can Do It With a Broken Heart' featured Swift at her most "showgirly" — and she even had Kelce join her onstage during her June 23, 2024, show in London for the song. James Gunn shares great news about the Superman Saga
There are few men in Hollywood with more on their plates than James Gunn. The writer and director recently finished promoting Superman, and now, he's back at it with Peacemaker season 2. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gunn confirmed that he finished a treatment for the next film in what he's now calling the Superman Saga. Recommended Videos Gunn also offered an update on when the film might go into production. James Gunn reveals he's already been working on the #Superman saga, and hopes to begin production soon — The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) August 13, 2025 'I've already finished a treatment for the next story in what I'll call the Superman Saga,' Gunn explained. 'The treatment's done, which means a very, very worked-out treatment, and I'm working on that and hopefully going into production on that not too far away from today.' The director did not offer any details about the film or which characters might be included. However, Gunn previously suggested that his next feature will include the Man of Steel, even if it's not a direct sequel to Superman. Gunn also didn't offer any firm details on when production would start, but we do know that there are several other DC Universe projects further down the pipeline, including one that was teased at the end of Superman. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is set to hit theaters next summer. That's coming on top of the second season of Peacemaker, the second season of Creature Commandos, and the HBO series Lanterns, which hits HBO in 2026.
