Kim Huybrechts has hammered the current Premier League Darts format and reckons no-one wants to watch Luke Littler meet Michael van Gerwen 20 times.
The outspoken Belgian has given his comments on the growing debate surrounding the current set-up of the showpiece PDC competition.
Luke Humphries launched a staunch defence of the scheduling after his sixth meeting of the season with Luke Littler on Thursday night in Leeds.
The World No.1 says fans want to see the best clash with the best on a regular basis.
But Huybrechts, who last competed in Premier League during the old format, admits he's not a backer.
He said: 'I don't really like this format. It's lost some of its charm compared to before.
"Who wants to watch the twentieth meeting between Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen in just half a year?
"Back then, it was one blockbuster like Phil Taylor versus Raymond van Barneveld. That was something you'd switch your TV on for.
"Now, I don't watch much when I'm home. I see these guys more often than I see my own family.' he said with a smile.
Speaking on the Darts Draait Door podcast, the 39-year-old admits his own previous experiences were tough for differing reasons.
Huybrechts played Premier League twice, with his most recent appearance ending in sad circumstances in 2017 as he missed the final night.
He explained: 'That week, I found out my mother only had about a month left to live. It was all just too much.
"I skipped that final week, which was meant to be against Peter Wright.
"The doctors advised me not to leave the country because it could happen at any moment.
"After speaking with the PDC, we decided to cancel the match.'
Huybrechts also recounted: 'I had to play Gary Anderson in Glasgow. I went up on stage with a really heavy heart.
"From the very first dart to the last, I was booed relentlessly.
"It left quite an impression. I was up there with my tail between my legs.'

Harvey Elliott loves Liverpool but doesn't want to ‘waste years' on sidelines

Asked whether he is considering leaving the club he loves, he replied: 'It's just a situation that me and the team have to have a conversation about because I'm coming into an age now where I'm 22, I'm going to be 23 next season. 'I don't really want to be wasting years on my career because it's a short career. You don't know what's going to happen. 'I need to reflect. I need to see if I'm content in doing what I'm doing and how can I improve as a player because that's the most important thing. 'I just want to improve and be the best possible version of myself. If that's to go somewhere else, then it's a decision that I'm going to have to make and I just need to see what happens. 'Nothing makes me want to leave. I love the club, I love the fans, the team.
