Kourtney Kardashian blasts Caitlyn Jenner's 'controlling' parenting style after being slammed as 'out of touch'

Daily Mail22-05-2025

Kourtney Kardashian opened up about Caitlyn Jenner's parenting style - which she labeled as both 'controlling' and 'bossy.'
The Poosh founder, 46 - who recently was slammed by fans for being 'out of touch' - opened up about the topic as she appeared on her sister Khloe's podcast titled Khloe In Wonder Land.
The TV personality is the eldest daughter of Kris Jenner and Robert Kardashian - who divorced in 1991. That same year, the socialite married Caitlyn (then Bruce Jenner) until their official split in 2015.
While discussing parenthood, Khloe commended her older sibling for not 'being the disciplinary' when it comes to raising her husband Travis Barker 's children.
'[Caitlyn] never tried to be dad,' the podcast host said, referencing to their late father Robert. 'And I always appreciated and respected that.'
However, Kourtney disagreed with the statement as she recalled having 'yelling wars' with Caitlyn, who she described as 'controlling.'

'Okay, so, that wasn't my experience,' she recalled. 'But maybe that's why it became your experience. So [I'm] grateful for that for you.'
The reality star then recalled Caitlyn had 'tried to be controlling and bossy' and further remembered Jenner told her 'certain friends can't come over' while growing up.
Upon hearing Kourtney's side, Khloe revealed that she initially believed her sister didn't get along with their stepfather because 'he was replacing dad. Not that he did, no one could replace dad.'
Kourtney then talked about how both she and Caitlyn would have arguments in the past which would turn into 'yelling wars.'
She explained, 'I would be like, "I wanna call my Dad," and [Caitlyn] would hang up the phone. We would have yelling wars.'
The star later decided to move in with her father Robert - who passed away in 2003 after a short battle with esophageal cancer.
Caitlyn and Kris Jenner married in 1991 and welcomed two children: Kendall, 29, and Kylie, 27.
Upon tying the knot, the Olympic gold medalist also became stepfather at the time to Kris' kids from her past marriage to Robert: Kourtney, Khloe, 40, Kim, 44, and Rob, 38.
Caitlyn also has four other children from previous relationships: Brody Jenner, Burt Jenner, Brandon Jenner and Cassandra Marino.
In 2015, Jenner came out a trans woman and a few years later, she opened up about her relationship with her children - including the Kardashians during a 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer.
'Some [of my children] I have remained very close to. A couple of them… I'm a little more distant.
'I have to admit, I'll sit here and wonder, "Is it because of my transitioning? Or is it because their life is so busy that they don't call, like, all the time?"'
Caitlyn added, 'Nobody calls that much. I mostly reach out to them. Obviously, the Jenner side calls more, but they all have their own lives.'
Earlier this year, Brody Jenner shared that he had felt 'abandoned' by Caitlyn during his childhood while appearing on Special Forces: World's Toughest Test.
'I had an incredible mother. Father, Bruce, at the time, wasn't around that much,' Brody said at the time, per E! News.
But he shared that Caitlyn had reached out to him and offered an apology. 'Just recently, I got a real, sincere apology.
'It was the first time in my life that I've ever gotten an apology. You know, I'm sorry for not being there, and honestly, it meant a lot.'
While joining her sister Khloe on the podcast episode this week, Kourtney also talked about living authentically, and not conforming to what's expected of a family - bringing up the school system.
She discussed her kids and how they wanted to do homeschooled - versus going to a school - which fans slammed on social media, calling her 'out of touch.'
'Why do kids f*****g go to school?' Kourtney said, adding that it is 'dated.'
Kourtney also revealed that she only works once a week - something she decided on after giving birth to son Rocky, one: 'I had a strong desire to not work and stay home and be with the kids, which is... I would say probably like once a week I'll work.'
Kourtney shares three kids with ex-partner Scott Disick: sons Mason, 15, and Reign, 10, and daughter Penelope, 12. She welcomed son Rocky on November 1, 2023 with husband Travis Barker.
Travis has two children from his past marriage to Shanna Moakler: Landon, 21, and Alabama, 19 - as well as his former stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya, 26, whom he helped raise.
Atiana is the daughter of Shanna and Oscar De La Hoya.
'Living authentically is not conforming to whatever it is and whether for me- there's so many ways. There's ways we function as a family. Like if someone does the same thing every day.
I do it with everything. It's not about our family. Let's say the school system. I'll think, why do kids f*****g go to school? Truly. It's so dated,' Kourtney said in the podcast.
'I'm such a home school person so don't even get me going,' Khloe then added.
Kourtney explained: 'So then I'll start thinking... and then like my kids will start sending me videos why do kids to school.
'It will be like really successful people and they'll be like my kids never go to school and they're never going to. And I'm like, what's the goal here. You want to do homeschool? Okay let's do it.'
Kourtney was slammed on social media for her comments about school, specifically when she called going to school as 'dated.'
'Because normal kids need an education to eventually work. Not everybody can leech off their parents,' once wrote on X - formerly Twitter - while another said that 'some people can't afford nanny's.
'She needs to home school her kids. The question is will she do it or go hire a teacher. These out of touch ppl,' one person wrote.
'Kids should go to school so they don't end up like her and the rest of the Kardashians,' a fan tweeted.
'Out of touch celebrity says something that's out of touch,' a fan wrote, and one said, 'Clearly her brain is outdated.'
Khloe and Kourtney also covered a number of topics, including how often Kourtney works.
When talking about being a mom again to Rocky, she said: 'Becoming a mom again really ignited, like intensely ignited my motherly role, my motherly instinct, sometimes I feel like my feminine energy. I feel like it intensely ignited that feeling inside me of just I am a mom.'
Kourtney continued: 'I had a strong desire to not work and stay home and be with the kids, which is... I would say probably like once a week I'll work.'
'It's not like the whole day, its a couple hours of my day. the rest of the time I'm truly at home and I'm being a mom.'

Lisa Kudrow says her Friends character Phoebe ‘was so far from who I am'

US actress Lisa Kudrow has said it was 'a lot of work' playing her Friends character Phoebe Buffay as she 'was so far from who I was as a human being'. The 61-year-old from Los Angeles played one of six friends featured in the hit US sitcom which also starred Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt Le Blanc and the late Matthew Perry. Advertisement Speaking to US actress Parker Posey for Variety's Actors On Actors series, she said: 'It (the series) was fun the whole time, because we had fun, the cast had fun. 'It was like a collaboration with the writers, because they were so great and nice and good. 'But me being Phoebe was so far from who I was as a human being that it was work. 'I needed to justify everything she was saying in my head so that it felt like she meant it and it was real to her. It was a lot of work. Advertisement 'And I remember like season two or three, and I was just doing it, and went, 'Oh my god, I'm not doing the work. I don't know if this is going as well. I'm not doing the work'. 'I was really fretting over it. And (Matt) LeBlanc went, 'What's the matter with you?'. I said, 'I'm not doing the work that I did. I used to like really work, and he said, 'You're her. You don't have to do it anymore'.' Alongside her role in Friends, Kudrow is known for starring in a number of TV series as well as comedy films Romy and Michele's High School Reunion and The Opposite Of Sex. In 2023 she thanked her late co-star Perry for 'the best 10 years a person gets to have' while filming Friends in a tribute following his death at the age of 54. Advertisement During their conversation, Posey, who has starred in films including Dazed And Confused and Superman Returns, spoke about one of her more recent roles playing a southern woman called Victoria Ratliff in season three of Mike White's dark comedy, The White Lotus. She said: 'It was such a gift to have this middle-aged woman at this time in my life, in my career, to be the southern woman. 'I was reading Tennessee Williams in junior high and high school and southern writers and all of this. So I was like, I just ate it up.'

EXCLUSIVE Jessica Alba looks MISERABLE reuniting with estranged husband Cash Warren at daughter's graduation

Jessica Alba tried to put her best face forward as she attended her daughter's eighth grade graduation on Friday. The actress, 44, who celebrated her single status in a bikini, seemed somewhat distraught as she spoke with a friend at the ceremony in Los Angeles. The Trigger Warning star looked casually chic in a cream toned jacket and crop top over a pair of straight leg jeans. Her long, dark blonde hair was styled straight and she wore natural-looking makeup. The L.A.'s Finest star accessorized with large hoop earrings and three stacked necklaces. The event was to celebrate Alba's daughter Haven, 13, and her classmates successfully completing middle school. The Fantastic Four actress was joined by her estranged husband Cash Warren, 46, who looked relaxed in a pair of tan chinos and a blue and white golf shirt and sneakers. Her older daughter, Honor, 16, looked sweet in a long red and white dress. The teen's long, dark locks were styled into long braids which cascaded down her back. Alba was seen arriving with son Hayes, seven, who looked adorable in a navy blue sweater over a white collared shirt, jeans, sneakers and a white billed cap. Alba and Warren announced their separation on January 16, and Alba formally filed for divorce in February, citing irreconcilable differences. 'I've been on a journey of self-realization and transformation for years – both as an individual and in partnership with Cash,' the El Camino Christmas star explained as she announced the split on social media. 'I'm proud of how we've grown as a couple and in our marriage over the last 20 years and it's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.' A source who spoke to Life & Style said the former couple, who tied the knot in a courthouse ceremony in 2008, are trying to keep their kids lives as normal as possible amid the big life change. The insider indicated they may follow the lead of former spouses Demi Moore and Bruce Willis and former partners Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk by taking family vacations together. Alba and Warren have listed their Beverly Hills home for $19 million and Warren reportedly has been checking out high-end real estate for his new digs. 'As much as Jessica is embracing change for herself, she's still very concerned about maintaining as much of the status quo for her kids as she can. Doing holidays with Cash feels like an important tradition to try to maintain,' they explained. 'Hayes is only 7, he wants both his parents there when he does his Easter egg hunt. Honor and Haven are teenagers but it's still important for Jess that they feel they have some semblance of a family.' The Meet the Keswanis producer was spotted leaving an open house at a six-bedroom dwelling in the Sherman Oaks area recently. The property is listed as costing $6.5 million. Alba has not been sitting on her laurels since her exit from the Honest Company in 2024. She founded her own production company, Lady Spitfire the same year. 'I'm thrilled that in this stage of my life and career, I get to create and build, and Lady Spitfire is part of this next chapter,' Alba told Deadline. 'Reimagining and redefining how women and minorities show up in the world through great stories is my passion,' she said. 'I believe that my children and the next generation shouldn't have to face the same barriers as I have. Inspired by the heroes whose shoulders I humbly stand on, I feel it is my duty to make it easier for dreams to be realized and potential to be met for women and minorities, particularly those in my community.' Alba has several upcoming projects, including the series Confessions on the 7:45, with Eva Longoria directing.

BREAKING NEWS Atlantic Starr singer Wayne Lewis dies at 68 as tributes pour in for R&B legend

Wayne Lewis of the legendary R&B band Atlantic Starr has died. The singer, songwriter, and co-founding member of the group was 68. The band announced his passing in a heartfelt Facebook post on June 6, writing: 'It's with great sadness we have to post the passing of Wayne Lewis on June 5, 2025. 'Please keep the family in your prayers and respect their privacy. #waynelewis #restinpeace #flyhigh Sunrise 4/13/1957 Sunset 6/5/2025 #restinpeaceWayne.' A cause of death has not yet been revealed. Lewis was a driving force behind Atlantic Starr, a New York-based group formed in the mid-1970s with his brothers David and Jonathan Lewis. The band rose to fame in the '80s with their signature blend of smooth soul, R&B, and pop — becoming staples on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts. Wayne Lewis served as both lead vocalist and keyboardist, contributing to some of the band's biggest hits, including Always, Secret Lovers, Circles, Silver Shadow, and Masterpiece. Their 1987 ballad Always hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a wedding anthem for a generation. Tributes have poured in across social media. 'A great songwriter. Atlantic Star was better once he became leader. He will be missed,' one fan wrote. Another praised him as 'a great songwriter' and 'an icon of soulful love songs.' Yet another added, 'Omg I'm devastated. I was looking forward to seeing them perform this Sunday at Capital Jazz Festival. My condolences.' Wayne co-founded Atlantic Starr in 1976 in White Plains, New York, alongside his brothers David and Jonathan Lewis, originally forming the band under the name Newban before changing it ahead of their first major label signing.
