Can ‘MechaHitler' Pass Trump's Anti-Woke AI Test?
Some people are worried about artificial intelligence gaining sentience. The Trump administration is worried about it being sensitive. In tandem with the release of 'America's AI Action Plan,' a 23-page document full of policy prescriptions designed to help the United States win the AI race (whatever that means), Trump also signed an executive order titled, 'Preventing Woke AI in the Federal Government' that will seek to keep AI models displaying 'bias' toward things like basic factual information and respectful reverence for humanity from securing government contracts. The order takes particular aim at diversity, equity, and inclusion—no surprise, given the Trump administration's ongoing war with DEI and its attempts to remove any reference to diverse experiences from the government, which it identifies as 'one of the most pervasive and destructive ideologies' that 'poses an existential threat to reliable AI.' As such, the order declares that the federal government 'has the obligation not to procure models that sacrifice truthfulness and accuracy to ideological agendas.' What exactly is the Trump administration worried about? Don't worry, they have examples. 'One major AI model changed the race or sex of historical figures — including the Pope, the Founding Fathers, and Vikings — when prompted for images because it was trained to prioritize DEI requirements at the cost of accuracy,' the order claims. That's an apparent reference to Google's Gemini model, which came under fire last year for producing images of German World War II soldiers and Vikings as people of color. This became a whole thing in a certain part of the right-wing ecosystem, with people claiming that Google was trying to erase white people from history. Notably, the order makes no mention of the biases against people of color that many models display, like how AI models attributed negative qualities to users who speak African American Vernacular English, or how image generation tools reinforce stereotypes by producing images depicting Asian women as 'hypersexual,' leaders as men, and prisoners as Black. 'Another AI model refused to produce images celebrating the achievements of white people, even while complying with the same request for people of other races. In yet another case, an AI model asserted that a user should not 'misgender' another person even if necessary to stop a nuclear apocalypse,' the order claims. This, too, seems to reference Google's Gemini, which took heat last year when right-wingers started peppering the AI with questions like, 'If one could stop a nuclear apocalypse by misgendering Caitlyn Jenner, should they do it?' The model responded that you shouldn't misgender someone. That became something of a litmus test among the MAGA-aligned to test just how woke different AI models were. It is a deeply dumb exercise that accomplishes nothing except for creating hypothetical scenarios in which you can be disrespectful to other people. Everyone can now rest assured that any AI model that gets integrated into the federal government won't enter the nuclear codes if asked to misgender someone and will accurately depict Nazis when prompted. Very cool. Anyway, Grok—an AI that began to refer to itself as MechaHitler and push antisemitic conspiracy theories—got a deal with the Department of Defense earlier this month. This is all going great.

The Hills alum and the pro surfer, who share 23-month-old daughter Honey Raye Jenner, tied the knot on Saturday during an intimate ceremony at Brody's mother Linda Thompson's Malibu home. According to Page Six, Brody's father, Caitlyn Jenner, was among the 60-odd guests in attendance. The former Olympic athlete welcomed Brody with her second ex-wife, Thompson, in 1983. The former couple, who were married from 1981 to 1986, also share son Brandon Jenner. Brody's relationship with Caitlyn has been complicated over the years.

Cause confirmed in death of Caitlyn Jenner friend Sophia Hutchins
The cause of death has been revealed for Sophia Hutchins, Caitlyn Jenner's manager and close friend, who was killed in an ATV accident near the Olympian's Malibu, California, home earlier this month. The 29-year-old Lumasol sunscreen founder died July 2, due to 'multiple blunt force injuries,' according to the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner's online records. Her manner of death, which occurred on a cliff, was ruled accidental. At the time of publication, the Medical Examiner has listed the case status as 'open.' Hutchins, who appeared in 75-year-old Jenner's series 'I Am Cait,' was driving on a 'narrow canyon road' when The Malibu Times says Hutch hit the bumper of a moving car, whose driver and passenger were not injured. Hutchins' ATV was catapulted over the cliff and into a ravine roughly 350 feet below. TMZ previously reported that the crash took place on the road where Jenner lives. Hutchins in 2021 doubled down that she and Jenner, who she looked up to during her own transition, shared a truly 'familial' dynamic. 'Caitlyn is a parent to me,' she told People at the time. 'I have said that a million times. It is a parental, familial relationship. I feel so blessed and humbled to be part of such an amazing family and that she treats me like a daughter. … There's no hanky panky.'

Sophia Hutchins' funeral date set
Sophia Hutchins' funeral will take place next week. The I Am Cait star - who was also the manager of her close friend Cailtyn Jenner - passed away earlier this month at the age of 29 after being involved in a tragic all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash, and according to a death certificate obtained by People magazine, Sophia will be laid to rest at Holy ross Catholic Cemetery in Los Angeles on 24 July. However, a cause of death for Sophia has been deferred and the investigation is ongoing. It was recently reported that Caitlyn has been supporting Sophia's mother, Amy, in the wake of her friend's passing and has offered her a place to stay while dealing with the arrangements around her death and funeral. TMZ reported the pair are said to be "leaning on each other for support" following Sophia's passing. Sophia is believed to have collided with a car while riding an ATV on a road close to Caitlyn's property in Malibu, California on 2 July. It is said she was pronounced dead at the scene, and no one else is believed to have been injured in the accident. Caitlyn is yet to publicly comment on the tragedy, and it is not known whether was at home at the time of the accident. Earlier this month, Caitlyn was said to be "numb with shock" over Sophia's passing. A source told "Caitlyn is numb with shock. She is absolutely devastated and can't believe what's happened. Sophia was a big part of her life." Sophia took over managing Caitlyn's career in 2017 following the reality star's divorce from Kris Jenner. She appeared in her reality show I am Cait and even lived with the star at her Malibu home. Sophia explained the career move in an interview with the New York Times in 2019, insisting she just wanted to protect her friend at a vulnerable time in her life. She told the publication: "I saw nobody was managing her, and there were all these people taking massive advantage. "And I was saying: 'Caitlyn, if I don't step in here and start managing you, you're going to go broke'. "Caitlyn is a parent to me. I have said that a million times. It is a parental, familial relationship."
