The recruiting process is really just getting started for the elite 2027 receiver. But he liked his time at Notre Dame recently. The culture and the coaching staff stood out to him but so did the staff's plans to open up the offense to feature receivers more.
The Irish will remain a prominent program in his recruitment moving forward.
Cantwell finished a spring break swing of visits that included trips to Miami, Ohio State and Michigan. The trip to Miami helped the Hurricanes close the gap a little on the other programs. The Buckeyes are recruiting him hard but still need to lock in an official visit date.
Michigan will be a major factor in this recruitment though. The Wolverines check a lot of boxes for the five-star tackle as his attention turns to his official visits in a couple months.
The 2027 tight end was on Notre Dame's campus on Saturday. Driver was quick to get on campus after the program offered him during its Pot of Gold recruiting event. The coaches and players were very welcoming to him and his family during their time on campus.
The Irish are also known for getting tight ends involved in the offense and developing them which the Kentucky native likes.
The Ohio native made visits to Pitt, Ohio State and Michigan recently. Each program utilizes the tight ends in different ways which was nice for him to see. Offensive coordinator Kade Bell at Pitt made a big impression with how much he likes to stretch the field.
Pitt, Minnesota, Duke and Wisconsin are the teams making the strongest pushes for Fryzel right now.
The four-star offensive tackle out of Ohio had a good visit to Ohio State where he's building a bond with new offensive line coach Tyler Bowen. The Buckeyes are still the favorites to land him.
However, Greer did make a visit to Michigan over the weekend. The facilities and culture of out-working your opponent while over-preparing really stuck with him. The Wolverines impressed him and are making things interesting.
Things are getting interesting for the Ohio tight end. Miree took his first visit to LSU last weekend. From start to finish it was what everyone said it was. The facilities, the players and staff were all top notch. The amount the team uses the tight ends was eye-opening for Miree.
He currently doesn't have an official visit set to LSU but the team is making a strong push to get a visit from him. If that visit happens the Tigers could become the favorite with him.
The Michigan State legacy was back on campus again last weekend. He's been on campus a dozen times between the last two coaching staffs. But this time he got to see the night and day difference between the offensive line room from last year to this year.
Patrick is building a good relationship with quarterback commit Kayd Coffman which could be a wildcard in this recruitment.
Notre Dame, Michigan and Penn State remain in the mix.

Michigan football woos 4-star edge McHale Blade, gains ground in recruiting visit weekend

Michigan football woos 4-star edge McHale Blade, gains ground in recruiting visit weekend Michigan football is coming off its second big recruiting weekend with a slew of high-profile official visitors, and it appears as if the Wolverines are starting to make some moves. Even with some prospects who appeared that they'd end up elsewhere. With several top targets in Ann Arbor, the staff worked hard to get into the good graces of top-tier talent who have offers from the elite of the elite across college football, and it does seem as if the maize and blue pitch is paying some dividends. Though the Wolverines have yet to get any commitments coming out of the official visit weekend, is it becoming increasingly imminent? The Wolverines make a move with McHale Blade Among those who were in attendance this weekend was 2026 Chicago (Ill.) Simeon four-star edge rusher McHale Blade. Ranked highest by Rivals, which has him as the No. 111 player in the country, regardless of position, and the 15th-best edge rusher in the country, Blade was expected to end up at Notre Dame. However, according to On3's Steve Wiltfong, things seem to be trending toward Michigan football. (subscription required) Move my prediction from Notre Dame to Michigan for Chicago (Ill.) Simeon On300 edge McHale Blade. He was one of the standouts in Ann Arbor over the weekend. Michigan now has a 54.5% edge to land Blade according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The current class At the moment, the Wolverines have seven commitments, including one edge rusher in three-star Tariq Boney from the DMV region. Michigan is looking to land potentially several more, with five-stars Carter Meadows and Trenton Henderson both holding the maize and blue in high esteem. Blade has visited Ann Arbor five times thus far, including this year's spring game, and several games last year, including the Oregon and Northwestern games.

Ohio State AD Ross Bjork reacts to NCAA House Settlement, outlines basic framework

In case you missed it, a judge approved the NCAA House Settlement late last week, not only setting aside distribution payouts for former athletes, but also paving the way for direct payment to student-athletes. Name, Image and Likeness will still be in play, but now anything over $600 will need to be approved by an NCAA Clearinghouse, meaning some of the larger deals will be harder to broker and more in the open, or else, face penalties of some sort. This impacts all schools, big and large, but significantly restructures and reorganizes efforts in recruiting, NIL, and roster management at the biggest of schools and football factories like Ohio State. So then, wouldn't it be interesting to see what those in the suits on the banks of the Olentangy have to say about the development that was a long time coming? Sure it would. And, on that note, Ohio State Athletic Director Ross Bjork did provide a statement to the media in preparation for a further press conference later this week that puts a straw man template in place for the position he'll take to lead the OSU program through the changes coming. 'The signing of the House settlement Friday by Judge Claudia Wilken will reshape collegiate athletics. Ohio State and schools around the country will now be permitted to directly compensate student-athletes through revenue sharing, which is actually institutional NIL rights," Bjork said in a statement. "The Department of Athletics will fully fund the revenue sharing program, which will total $20.5 million and includes funding for additional scholarships for both women's and men's sports. We remain committed to maintaining the student-athlete model, offering 36 intercollegiate sports and providing scholarships to all 36.' There will be more to come at the presser later this week, but we can take a couple of things from his statement. First, the revenue sharing program will be fully funded by the Department of Athletics. Maybe this was a foregone conclusion, but it does raise questions on several logistics like the proverbial how, when, and where this will all happen. Secondly, the amount of funding looks like it has been outlined. Maybe things will change a little north or south of this number (again, we'll find out more Thursday), but the total looks to be $20.5 million. Also, and very important, many had to wonder if this new model would mean the loss of scholarships and other athletic programs of some of the non-revenue sports. It looks like there will be an effort to keep all 36 sports with both men and women, all funded through the model. Maybe that's too optimistic, maybe not -- we'll have to again take a wait and see approach and wait to hear, see, and feel more. This is a nugget of interesting news, and this is, of course, only the tip of the iceberg of what we'll find out in the coming days, weeks, and months.
