NIA searches 10 places in Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi in hotel firing case linked to Khalistani terrorist Arsh Dalla
Multiple teams of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have searched 10 locations in Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi in the Neemrana hotel firing case linked to Canada-based Khalistani terrorist Arsh Dalla, who was arrested last year in connection with a shooting in Ontario.
'The attack, in which 35 shots were fired on September 8 last year all around the premises of Hotel Highway King, was aimed at terrorising and threatening people. The two attackers were subsequently identified as members of the Bambiah gang, having connections with Dalla's terrorist-gangster network. They had used prohibited weapons and also threatened the hotel's owner and manager for extortion money. The manager had also earlier received several threat calls from international numbers,' an NIA spokesperson said in a statement issued on Monday afternoon.
The NIA, which in December 2024 took over the case related to the firing in Rajasthan's Neemrana, seized several electronic devices and other incriminating materials during the searches.
The spokesperson said the suspects in the case 'had been involved in providing financial support and in carrying out acts of violence and terror at the behest of designated individual terrorist Arsh Dalla and his associate Dinesh Gandhi'.
According to the NIA, Dalla's associates have been resorting to extortion through terrorist and violent acts to raise funds for banned Khalistani outfits. 'Businessmen and other targets were identified by these gangsters and their aides, who would threaten and coerce the targets into paying off huge sums,' the spokesperson added.

Honeymoon murder: Victim's kin demand narco test on Sonam's parents, brother
Indore, The elder brother of Raja Raghuvanshi, an Indore-based transport businessman murdered while honeymooning in Meghalaya, on Monday demanded a narco-analysis test on prime accused Sonam's parents and said the family suspects the involvement of more people in the killing. Police have arrested five people, including Raja Raghuvanshi's wife Sonam and her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha , for their alleged involvement in the 29-year-old businessman's murder last month. They are in the Meghalaya police's custody, and an SIT is probing the case. Talking to reporters during Raghuvanshi's 13th-day death ritual here, his elder brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, said, "We want a narco-analysis test on Sonam, her parents, brother Govind and sister-in-law." Sonam is accused of getting her husband killed during their honeymoon with the help of Kushwaha and three others, in a case which has sent shockwaves across the country. The other three accused, Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput and Anand Kurmi, were initially suspected to be hired killers, but the police later found they were friends of Kushwaha. Vipin Raghuvanshi said, "New videos related to the murder are surfacing one after the other. We believe more people might be involved in my younger brother's killing." He also demanded that people who posted these videos on social media also be questioned and asked why they had not released the footage earlier. He, however, expressed satisfaction with the Meghalaya police's probe. "Our family is happy with the investigation," he added. Meanwhile, Sonam's brother Govind attended the ritual feast, although the Raghuvanshi's family said he had not been invited. "I am here to seek forgiveness. If anyone suspects us, we are asking to be investigated. We stand with Raja Raghuvanshi's family," he told reporters. Govind had also taken part in Raja Raghuvanshi's post-death ritual in Ujjain on June 13. However, tensions between Govind and the Raghuvanshi family appear to be growing. The victim's other brother, Sachin Raghuvanshi, said, "I didn't speak to Govind during the ceremony. He may have come to show sympathy. We did not invite him." As per the case details, a few days after their wedding, Raja and Sonam left for Sohra in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills district and went missing on May 23. His body was found in a gorge near Weisawdong Falls on June 2 while a search continued for Sonam. She emerged in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur, around 1,200 km away from the crime spot, in the early hours of June 9 and surrendered before police.

Days after the tragic murder of Indore-based man Raja Raghuvanshi in Meghalaya, police quashed the initial theory of possible 'contract killing" and alleged Sonam's lover Raj Kushwaha may not have been involved solely for money, but rather as a favour, reported PTI. East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem, while speaking to PTI said, 'The three young people were friends, and one of them is a cousin of Raj.' 'It was not a typical contract killing. Yes, the plan was to kill and they did it as a favour to their friend Raj,' the Meghalaya police official added. Earlier, the Meghalaya Police arrested three young men – Vishal, Akash and Anand, alongside Sonam Raghuvanshi and her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha. According to the details, Raj a suspected boyfriend of Raja's wife Sonam Raghuvanshi, is alleged to have masterminded the killing, while Sonam acting as a co-conspirator. East Khasi Hills SP stated that though the three young men were believed to be hired killers, but Raj gave them ₹ 50,000 for logistical expenses and they acted out of personal ties. As per SP Syiem, the conspiracy to eliminate Raja was hatched in Indore in February prior to his wedding with Sonam on 11 May. Police added that the plan was to murder any random woman, burn the body, and pass it off as Sonam, so that it would give Sonam more time in hiding before the truth came out. 'The conspiracy to eliminate Raja was hatched in Indore, shortly before his wedding with Sonam on May 11, and the mastermind is Raj, while the woman had agreed to the plot,' Syiem said. Raja and Sonam travelled to Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills district soon after their wedding. But on 23 May, the newly married couple went missing from the tourist hotspot of Sohra (Cherrapunji). On 2 June, Raja's body was found in a deep gorge near Weisawdong Falls. While Sonam, believed to be missing, resurfaced in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur on 9 June and surrendered to police. All five accused—Sonam, Raj, Vishal, Akash, and Anand—were remanded to eight days of police custody on Wednesday. Police are recording statements and gathering further evidence. 'We are questioning them. We will gather more evidence and reconstruct the crime scene,' SP Syiem said said, adding that police are confident of filing a charge sheet within the 90-day mandatory period.

Murdered Haryana model Sheetal Chaudhry's sister suspects Karnal hotel owner's role: ‘He pressured to marry'
The body of a 23-year-old model from Panipat was recovered from a canal in Khanda village of Sonepat's Kharkhauda area in Haryana, police said on Monday. The victim, identified as Sheetal also known as Simmy Chaudhry, was murdered, with her throat found slit, officials added. According to police, Sheetal had been working in the Haryana music industry for the past six months. Prior to that, she was reportedly employed at a hotel in Karnal. Sonepat ACP (Headquarters) Ajeet Singh confirmed the recovery of the body. 'Her sister had lodged a missing complaint in a police station in Panipat on Sunday. The victim's sister Neha said that Sheetal had left the house on June 14 and went for shooting at Ahar village in Panipat. We are probing this case from all angles. Her family suspected that she was murdered,' Singh said. Neha further claimed that Sheetal had met Sunil while working at his hotel in Karnal. 'She also told me that Sunil was mounting pressure on her to go with him. Thereafter, her phone disconnected and she was unreachable," Sheetal Chaudhry's sister said. She added, 'On Sunday, Sunil's car slipped into a canal in Delhi and he was taken out by the passerby but my sister was not in the car. We suspect that Sunil killed my sister and he is concocting a false story. He is undergoing treatment in a hospital in Panipat.' Also read | Who was Sheetal? But Sheetal later came to know that Sunil was already 'married and father of two kids.' Meanwhile, Police is verifying the statements of victim's family members and a an investigation is ongoing.
