MADANI reform agenda alive and advancing

The Suna day ago

KUALA LUMPUR: The MADANI government has delivered the Parliamentary Services Act 2025 and spearheaded more than 30 legal amendments since 2023, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
'This is not mere rhetoric. It is concrete evidence that the MADANI Reform agenda is very much alive and advancing,' she said in a Facebook post today.
Azalina said she agreed with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's statement yesterday that reform efforts should not be rushed, but rather approached as a structured process requiring thorough consideration.
'Systemic reform is never instantaneous, and for good reason. As policymakers, our duty is to ensure that every reform is not only ambitious but also implementable. There is no wisdom in putting the cart before the horse.
'Let's be clear, the #MADANI government has laid the foundations for reform at a pace unmatched by previous administrations. The results speak for themselves. #MADANIBekerja,' she added.
She also invited the public to visit the PetaRI portal, developed by the Legal Affairs Division of the Prime Minister's Department at https://petari.bheuu.gov.my/, which regularly updates the progress of the reform initiatives.

Tun Mahathir's Japan Trip Sponsored By Govt He Regularly Attacks

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he approved a government sponsorship totaling RM486,000 for former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad's trip to Japan for the Nikkei Forum. The cost covers Dr. Mahathir and seven accompanying delegates. Speaking to reporters today, Anwar confirmed the sponsorship, explaining that while certain provisions exist for former leaders to make such requests, the final decision rests with the sitting Prime Minister, which he ultimately granted. The approval comes amidst ongoing public criticism from Dr. Mahathir towards the current MADANI administration since Anwar took office. The veteran statesman has frequently been vocal on various government policies. In response to these criticisms, Anwar had also directed the anti-corruption agency to investigate Dr. Mahathir and his family over allegations of corruption. However, to date, no proof of Dr. Mahathir's alleged corruption has been presented, nor have any cases been filed against his family. Related

Deputy minister's FB posts vanished, Meta confirms act of sabotage

PETALING JAYA: The Facebook page of a deputy minister has been sabotaged, resulting in the disappearance of his posts. Deputy Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister Akmal Nasir (pic) reported that he noticed on Monday (June 9) that all his Facebook posts since the end of 2022 had disappeared. "This issue became apparent when all posts related to the PKR 2025 Election campaign vanished hours earlier, followed by the removal of other posts later that day," he wrote on Facebook on Thursday (June 12). Upon contacting Meta, Facebook's parent company, it was confirmed that the incident was an act of sabotage by an individual, he said. Akmal added that he has instructed his legal team to consider pursuing actions against those involved in the incident if sufficient evidence is found. Previously, Akmal failed to defend his position as Johor Bahru PKR chief but was later elected to the PKR central leadership council during the party's polls. In response, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil stated on X that he had been in contact with Akmal and would request Meta to restore the deleted Facebook posts. "I just got in touch with YB Akmal and will ask the team at Meta to try to restore the posts and identify who was responsible for this," he said.
