SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – While some western Massachusetts residents are gearing up for this weekend's storm, others say that at this point, they're well prepared for those flakes to fall.
Another winter storm is heading for western Massachusetts for the second weekend in a row.Snow is expected to begin as early as 1:00 p.m. in parts of the region on Saturday, and a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect, lasting until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Ahead of this weekend's storm, residents are saying they feel like they've seen more snow than in recent years, and now they're prepared for what's to come.

'To see everybody ice skating and ice fishing on the ponds, it's been at least a few years since I've seen that,' said David Sousa of Springfield. 'If it's really bad, I'll stay home.'
While the DPW will be working to salt roads, you should also salt your driveway and walkways to create traction on icy surfaces. If you have to drive, clear your vehicle off completely before leaving. Check your snow removal equipment, and make sure your snow blower is working properly.
Ron Zafur, the store manager at Rocky's Ace Hardware told 22News that you're going to want to work to maintain the snow as it comes down.
'I'd get out there and get it shoveled away as fast as it comes in,' Zafur said. 'You know anything that you leave has an opportunity to freeze overnight.'Possible freezing rain on Sunday brings a higher risk of power outages. Make sure to charge your electronic devices, and have batteries, flashlights, and blankets on hand just in case.
If you have to drive on icy roads, understand that plows and salt trucks will continuously maintain them, so share the road and give them enough space to get by. Make sure you're dressed warm and be safe out there.
