New Delhi: The much-awaited first look of Aryan Khan's directorial debut The Ba***ds Of Bollywood dropped today, and it's as bold, chaotic and self-aware as the title suggests. The teaser doesn't hold back and gives a glimpse into a world that blends satire, drama and stylised masala mayhem with Aryan himself walking straight into the frame, violin in hand, ready to upend expectations. The clip opens with Aryan walking through a romantic set-up, playing a violin. He then recites one of Shah Rukh Khan's most iconic lines from Mohabbatein: " Ek ladki thi deewani si, ek ladke pe vo marti thi, nazrein jhuka ke, sharma ke, galiyon se guzarti thi..." (There was a girl, a little crazy, who had a crush on a boy. With her eyes lowered and shy smiles, she would pass through the streets...). Up to that point, the tone is sweet and nostalgic until Aryan cuts in, twisting the narrative unexpectedly: " Aur achanak ek truck aaya aur usse kuchal gaya." (And suddenly, a truck came and ran her over). He adds with a smirk, " Thoda zyaada ho gaya na? Aadat daal lo kyuki mera show bhi thoda zyaada hai." (A bit too much, right? Get used to it because my show is also a bit too much). Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah shared his opinion about filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar, which created a buzz. Shah bluntly shared his perspective about Farhan's work, and years later, Farhan has now reacted to those remarks. Naseeruddin Shah on Farhan Akhtar's remark Back in 2013, in an interview, speaking about Farhan, Naseeruddin Shah had said, 'Farhan Akhtar's films I clearly don't care for. I liked his first film Dil Chahta Hai. He's a tremendous person and has so many facets to him. Tomorrow I won't be surprised if I hear that he cooked a 10-course meal to perfection. He sings, acts, produces films , and writes . I think it's great he's doing whatever he can. I'm not a great fan of his acting or his films. But I admire him.' Farhan, the celebrated filmmaker and actor, is the son of the famous writer Javed Akhtar. He ventured into Bollywood as an assistant director before moving into direction and eventually acting. While Shah's comments were critical of his acting, Farhan has now broken his silence. In a recent interview , Farhan said, 'But it has to be done with a certain degree of love and a certain degree of respect for the other person. I felt that it didn't come from that place. I just felt it was just like a statement th ro wn out publicly. I felt that then this person doesn't respect you… So why should I reach out to a person who doesn't respect me? It was very clear to me that if he really did genuinely feel that… He knows my dad, Shabana, my mom, and me… We worked together in ZNMD, so it would have been the easiest thing for him to say that I want to speak to you. Why don't you come over?' Farhan Akhtar responds to Naseeruddin Shah's criticism. Farhan also added that he respects senior actors, but his approach to giving feedback is different. 'I have been doing films for 25 years. There are certain actors, directors, and writers who I have known, and they have debuted maybe 10 years after me. If there is something in their work that I feel, from my observation, could be better or that I have some piece of advice to give them… genuinely, I would pick up the phone and call them. Or say I would like to meet you and sit down and have a conversation with a person who I care about in a sensitive way because you are going into somebody's creative process, and giving them constructive feedback from your point of view,' he said. Fans of Zoya Akhtar's 2011 hit coming-of-age road movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara can't ever forget the emotionally charged scene which marks the reunion of Farhan Akhtar's character Imraan and his estranged father, Naseeruddin Shah's Salman. Like how the scene ended without a resolution, there also seems to be some unfinished business between the two actors in real life. Back in 2013, Naseeruddin had publicly claimed he 'clearly' doesn't 'care for' Farhan's films, whether as an actor or a director, with the exception of his 2001 seminal directorial debut, Dil Chahta Hai. 'I'm not a great fan of his acting or his films,' the veteran actor had said in an interview with the Times of India, while also praising Farhan's multihyphenated personality. Now, 12 years later, Farhan Akhtar has responded to Naseeruddin Shah's statement. He said, 'It has to be done with a certain degree of love, and a certain degree of respect for the other person. I felt that it didn't come from that place. I just felt it was just like a statement just thrown out publicly. I felt that then this person doesn't respect you… so why should I reach out to a person who doesn't respect me?' 'It was very clear to me that if he really did genuinely feel that… he knows my dad, Shabana, my mom and me… we worked together in ZNMD, so it would have been the easiest thing for him to say that I want to speak to you why don't you come over,' added Farhan, who claimed that he'd also reach out to younger talent if he wants to give them constructive feedback. Naseeruddin Shah has not only worked with Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar, but also shared a legendary association with their stepmother, Shabana Azmi. They starred together in memorable movies like Shyam Benegal's Nishant (1975), Junoon (1979), and Mandi (1983), Shekhar Kapur' Masoom (1983), Sai Paranjpye's Sparsh (1980), Mrinal Sen's Khandhar (1984), Gotam Ghose's Paar (1984), and Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Khamosh (1986). They'll soon reunite after decades in Kapur's Masoom: A New Generation. Naseeruddin has criticised the work of not only Farhan, but also his legendary father, veteran screenwriter, lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar. 'You have copied every scene, you didn't leave any of Charlie Chaplin's films, besides Clint Eastwood is felt in every frame,' the veteran actor said of Ramesh Sippy's 1975 blockbuster Sholay, which Javed co-wrote with Salim Khan.
