Abu Dhabi (Aletihad)With multiple holiday periods approaching from March through August, Etihad Airways is preparing for a significant increase in travellers at Zayed International Airport. To ensure guests enjoy a smooth start to their journey, the airline has issued travel tips, encouraging early planning and utilisation of its comprehensive digital services.The airline expects particularly high passenger volumes during the School Spring Break (20 March-13 April), Eid Al Fitr (late March), Hajj Season (May), Eid Al Adha (early June), and the School Summer Break (28 June-24 August).Captain Majed Al Marzouqi, Etihad Airways Interim Chief Operations & Guest Officer, said: "We're preparing to welcome thousands of additional guests during these peak periods. We recommend travellers take advantage of our numerous check-in options and digital tools to enjoy a relaxed start to their holidays."

Flight Information and Updates
Guests can easily access the latest flight information through the Manage My Booking section on etihad.com or via the mobile app, where they can view or modify flight details, select seats, and access various other services.
Early Check-in Options To avoid potential queues, guests are strongly encouraged to arrive at the airport at least four hours before departure during peak periods. Etihad offers multiple early check-in options: Online check-in opens 48 hours before departure and is available through etihad.com or the mobile app. After checking in online, guests can use the many automated self-service bag drops at the terminal, allowing them to weigh and tag their bags and collect their boarding pass in under a minute.
Off-airport check-in and bag-drop facilities - Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal (open 24 hours)- The Fountains – YAS Mall (open from 10am to 10pm)- Mussafah (open from 10am to 10pm) at 38 Al Arzaq Street, Behind Al Madina Hypermarket- Al Ain (open from 10am till 10pm) at Lulu Hypermarket Kuwaitat, Shakhboot Bin Sultan St- Home Check-in and Land & Leave ServicesGuests can also start their journey with home check-in through MORAFIQ, available up to five hours before departure. Starting from Dh185, this service includes baggage check-in, seat selection, and doorstep delivery of boarding passes.Upon return to Abu Dhabi, through Land and Leave service guests can proceed directly to their destination while MORAFIQ delivers their bags to any Abu Dhabi address within three hours of landing. These services can be booked via the MORAFIQ app or website.
Pre-purchase Travel Options
Economy Extra Legroom offers more space to stretch out, while the Neighbour-free Seat option can be selected at least 72 hours prior to departure.Guests can also enhance their pre-flight experience with First and Business Class Lounge access, available for purchase up to 90 minutes before departure.
Baggage Policy Economy Class guests are permitted 7kg of carry-on baggage, while First and Business Class guests can bring up to 12kg. Additional checked baggage allowance can be purchased at special rates through Etihad's website before departure.
US Pre-clearance FacilityTravellers to US destinations must check in at Terminal A at least four hours before their flight. First, Business, and The Residence guests should arrive at the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance facility 90 minutes before departure, while all other guests must arrive two hours before departure.
The facility closes one hour before flight departure.

Etihad brings its flagship A350 to Sydney with private business suites featuring sliding doors
Premium seat count boosted more than 20 per cent Optimised flight schedules enhance flexibility, ensuring smoother connections between Melbourne and Sydney to Abu Dhabi, and beyond Abu Dhabi, UAE – Etihad Airways is set to elevate its Sydney to Abu Dhabi service with the introduction of the Airbus A350-1000, bringing enhanced comfort, more premium seating and innovation to its important Australian route. Beginning 1 October 2025, the A350 will join the Sydney schedule on select flights, complementing the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner currently serving the route, with both aircraft offering the latest Business Suites. From 31 January 2026, Etihad will fully transition its 10 weekly Sydney services to A350 operations, offering guests a next-generation travel experience, and Melbourne will be served daily by Etihad's latest 787-9 aircraft featuring Business Suites and increased premium capacity. Arik De, Etihad's Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, said: 'We are delighted to bring more premium travel options to Australia with the arrival of our A350 on this important route. When the schedule is fully deployed early next year, we will have grown overall seat availability by ten per cent, and premium seat count by over 20 per cent. The aircraft also features Etihad's newest cabin interior, infused with thoughtful design details. The elevated Business Class is home to 44 Business Studios, each with a sliding door providing each guest with enhanced privacy within their suite. Dates for the 2025 Eid Al Adha holidays have been announced in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar. Eid Al Fitr holidays have been announced across the GCC, with government departments and authorities revealing dates and durations of extended breaks. Commonly known as the Feast of Sacrifice, this period is one of the holiest in the Islamic calendar. Special prayers, feasts and charity acts are observed across the region and around the world. UAE announces Eid Al Adha 2025 holidays for public and private sector The UAE has announced Eid Al Adha 2025 holidays for the public and private sectors. The holidays will begin on Dhul Al-Hijjah 9, 1446 AH, corresponding to Thursday, June 5, 2025, and will continue until Dhul Al-Hijjah 12, 1446 AH, corresponding to Sunday, June 8, 2025. Official work will resume on Monday, June 9, 2025. Saudi Arabia announces Eid Al Adha holiday Saudi Arabia announced dates for the Eid Al Adha holiday in the Kingdom later this week. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development said that there will be a four-day holiday for the private and non-profit sectors. Starting with Arafat day on Thursday June, 5 there will then be three days of Eid, ending on Sunday, June 8. Bahrain announces Eid holiday Bahrain has announced official holiday dates for Eid Al Adha in the Kingdom. Since the official holidays will fall on a Friday and Saturday, they will be compensated on Monday and Tuesday, 9-10. Oman announces Eid Ah Al Adha holiday Oman has announced a five-day holiday for the upcoming Eid Al Adha. Eid Al Adha holiday 1446 AH for employees in the State's Administrative Apparatus and other legal entities, as well as establishments of the private sector will start on Thursday, Dhul Hijja 9 1446 AH, corresponding to June 5, 2025 and last until Monday, Dhul Hijja 13 1446 AH, corresponding to June 9, 2025. Work shall be resumed on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. The Ministry of Labour pointed out that employers may agree on terms to engage employees on the holiday, if deemed necessary due to the nature of their work, provided they compensate the workers accordingly. Kuwait announces Eid Al Adha 2025 holiday Kuwait has announced dates for the Eid Al Adha holiday. At a Cabinet meeting it was decided that work will be suspended across all state bodies and public institutions from Thursday, June 5 to Monday, June 9 to mark the Islamic holiday. The Cabinet announced that Government employees will report back to work on Tuesday, June 10. Meanwhile, workplaces of 'unconventional' nature will determine their holidays as they see fit, the Cabinet agreed amid its weekly session presided over by Acting Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al Sabah.
