Lebanon approves financial grants for military personnel starting July 1
The Lebanese Cabinet has approved a financial grant for military personnel, allocating 14 million Lebanese lira for those in active service and 12 million pounds for retirees.
The decision will take effect starting July 1.

On Wednesday, Army forces bulldozed the site of a building they had searched Tuesday at the request of the committee in the densely populated Sainte-Therese street in Hadath in Beirut's southern suburbs. The building had been targeted by an Israeli strike during the 14-month Israel-Hezbollah war. On Friday, Israel warned that it would keep up its strikes on Hezbollah targets across Lebanon, after it struck four locations in Dahieh on the eve of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha. The Lebanese army condemned the airstrikes, warning that such attacks are weakening the role of Lebanon's armed forces that might eventually suspend cooperation with the committee monitoring the truce that ended the Israel-Hezbollah war. It said it had tried to convince Israel not to carry out the strikes and to instead let Lebanese officials go in to search the area under the mechanism laid out in the ceasefire agreement, but that the Israeli army refused, so Lebanese soldiers moved away from the locations after they were sent.

China condemns 'dangerous' move by Japanese plane after close approach report
Beijing slammed on Thursday what it called "dangerous behavior" by a Japanese military plane over the Pacific after Tokyo said Chinese fighter jets flew "unusually close" to its aircraft at the weekend. "The root cause of the risk to maritime and air security was the close reconnaissance of China's normal military activities by a Japanese warplane," foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian said. UN nuclear watchdog slams Iran's 'non-compliance'
The U.N. nuclear watchdog's board of governors on Thursday adopted a resolution condemning Iran's "non-compliance" with its obligations, three diplomatic sources told AFP. The motion drafted by the United States, Britain, France and Germany was carried by 19 votes in favor, out of 35 in total, diplomats said. AFP
