
Taiwan's rice exports to Japan surge sixfold
TAIPEI -- Taiwan exported more than six times as much rice to Japan in the first five months of 2025 than a year earlier, new Taiwanese government data shows.
Exports came to 7,759 metric tons for the January-May period, the Ministry of Agriculture reported Monday. They are expected to exceed 10,000 tons for the full year, more than two and a half times those of 2024.

Nvidia graphics card makers rush shipments to US to beat tariffs
NEW TAIPEI -- Leading gaming PC makers MSI and Gigabyte are racing against time to ship more products to the U.S., including Nvidia's new RTX 5090 graphics cards, before Donald Trump's higher tariffs are set to kick in next month.
