With a talented roster and the leadership of junior center Lauren Betts, UCLA has earned their spot among the nation's best.
On the other side, the UConn Huskies are a true powerhouse in women's basketball. With 11 national championships, more than any other school. The Huskies have a lineup full of elite talent, including top projected 2025 WNBA Draft pick Paige Bueckers, who has been a key contributor both offensively and defensively throughout the year.
Defending champions South Carolina continue as a favorite to win the title. Coming off an undefeated 2024 season where they secured their third national title in history, Coach Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks are eager to defend their crown. With one of the deepest and most talented rosters in the country, their dominant and physical play is driven by strong defense and an aggressive 3-point shooting game.
Led by head coach Vic Schaefer, the Longhorns have been a constant contender in the NCAA tournament, and they bring a mix of veteran leadership and youthful energy to this year's Final Four. Players like Rori Harmon and Madison Booker have been pivotal to Texas' success, combining strong defense with an ability to score at will.

Germaine Pratt shares Trey Hendrickson message during Bengals goodbye

The Cincinnati Bengals made official Tuesday the release of linebacker Germaine Pratt, who had been with the team since being drafted in 2019 and was one of the longest-tenured players in Cincinnati. After the release, Pratt took to Instagram to share a post made by another Bengal that's not exactly 100 percent happy at the moment, defensive end Trey Hendrickson, who is in the midst of a contract dispute and did not show up to mandatory minicamp this week. Greenwood went on to have a 12-year NBA career, playing for the Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets, and the Detroit Pistons, where he was part of the team's 1990 NBA Championship run. Following the news of his passing, Johnson shared a heartfelt message on social media, expressing his sorrow over the loss of his fellow draft classmate. "I'm sorry to hear the news about the passing of David Greenwood," Johnson said. "David Greenwood and I were drafted picks 1 and 2 in the 1979 NBA Draft. I'm praying for the Greenwood family and all of his loved ones. Rest in Peace David!" 3-star edge rusher flips commitment to Purdue football from another Midwest school

Purdue football added to its 2026 recruiting class Thursday by taking an edge rusher away from another Midwestern program. Max Carmicle of Hillcrest High School in suburban Chicago flipped his commitment to the Boilermakers. The 6-foot-7, 240-pound defensive end had been committed to Northern Illinois since January. The three-star recruit, ranked No. 991 in On3's industry rankings and No. 86 among edge rushers, took an official visit to Purdue last week. Interest in Carmicle had spread recently. He reportedly picked up offers from Kentucky and Michigan State in May. Carmicle is the 12th known commitment in the 2026 class and the fifth on defense. He is the first commitment on the defensive front, as the first four defensive commitments came in the back seven. Purdue's 2026 class currently ranks 47th in On3's national rankings and 15th among Big Ten teams. Relive Purdue's Final Four run with our collector's book!
