Vatsal Sheth
and
Ishita Dutta
have named their newborn daughter Veda. The couple shared a sweet video from the traditional naming ceremony on July 26, captioned with a Gujarati phrase: 'Holi joli peepal paan… ben ehh paadyu VEDA naam,' used to announce a baby's name.
Vatsal and Ishita, who tied the knot in 2017, welcomed their first child, a son named Vaayu, in July 2023. Their daughter Veda was born on June 10, 2025.
Explaining the choice, Vatsal said to Mumbai Mirror, 'We've named our little princess Veda, which means knowledge. There wasn't a deep, pre-decided reason — we were simply going through names, and this one instantly resonated with us. It had a beautiful sound, a beautiful meaning, and felt just right.'
He added, 'We wanted a name rooted in Hindu culture, just like Vaayu. With Vaayu and Veda, the names feel perfectly in sync — almost like they were meant to be. And with me being Vatsal, Ishita now has her trio of V's — a sweet little coincidence we truly cherish.'
Embracing parenthood, Vatsal has been balancing work and fatherhood. He says, "Becoming parents to two kids has been a whole new chapter for us. Life has taken a complete 360-degree turn — priorities have shifted, routines have changed, and everything feels different. We didn't anticipate just how much it would transform our world, but it truly has — in the best possible way. We feel incredibly blessed to have both a son and a daughter in our lives.

My first ever award as a filmmaker is a National Award: Krishnadev Yagnik

Krishnadev Yagnik 10 saal se films bana raha hoon . Forget any major awards, I haven't even won any small awards till date. And now, my first award is a National Award ! I am on cloud nine,' says filmmaker Krishnadev Yagnik , whose film Vash won the National Award for the Best Gujarati Film. He adds, 'I am in Mumbai currently, so I couldn't celebrate the moment with the team in Ahmedabad. I never expected to win a National Award, so it's an amazing feeling.' Talking about what worked for the film, he says, 'I am grateful to the studio that remade the film in Hindi (Shaitaan), as it gave the film an identity nationally. While making the film, the idea was to ensure a thrilling experience for the audience. I believe that for a film to work at the box office, you have to either make the audience laugh, cry or just stun them-play with their heartbeats. This win will act as a huge motivation and I will try to make sure that I always live up to the audience's expectations. '

Kapil Sharma Reacts To Canada Cafe Attack For The First Time: ‘United We Stand Against Violence'

Last Updated: Kapil Sharma and wife Ginni reacted to the firing at their Canada café, sharing a video with officials and stating, 'United we stand against violence.' Kapil Sharma's Canada cafe, named Cap's Cafe, reopened its doors for guests recently after a horrifying firing incident happened outside the eatery by unidentified individuals. Since the firing incident happened, Kapil Sharma hasn't given any direct reaction until today, but almost a month after the reopening of the café, Kapil Sharma and his wife Ginni Chatrath have reacted to the incident with a video. Kapil Sharma, in a collab post with his wife Ginni, shared a video of officials visiting his café as they enjoy a peaceful meal days after the incident and attached it with a caption making it clear that they do not support any sort of violence. While sharing the clip, Kapil and his wife wrote, 'Thank you Mayor Brenda Locke, @surreypoliceservice and all the officials who visited @thekapscafe_ to show their love and support. United we stand against violence. We're truly grateful." As soon as Kapil shared this post, his fans started reacting and sharing happy wishes to him. Vindu Dara Singh wrote, 'Will visit soon!" 'Wow, this is so beautiful & amazing Kapil bhai!! Kabhi Canada aaoonga to yahan jarur visit karunga," a fan wrote. Meanwhile, a third fan commented, 'Indian police family eating with US police… only at Kaps Café." About the attack On July 10, the newly opened café owned by comedian Kapil Sharma and his wife, Ginni Chatrath, was attacked. Several shots were fired at Kaps Café, which had recently celebrated a soft opening and gained attention for its elegant pink-and-white decor, floral accents, and a menu featuring artisan coffee and desserts. What began as a celebration quickly turned chaotic as the establishment was vandalised. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the property did suffer damage. Authorities suspect that the attack was a targeted strike by the Laddi gang, associated with the banned Khalistani terrorist group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). Laddi is wanted in India for numerous terror-related offences and is believed to be the mastermind behind several recent attacks on Hindu leaders and pro-India individuals. As per a TellyChakkar report, Kapil was reportedly questioned by the Mumbai Police after the firing incident at his café in Canada. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
