Woman molested by housemate while asleep in Cheras condo
KUALA LUMPUR: A woman endured a traumatic experience after she was molested by her housemate at a condominium in Jalan Cheras on Thursday.
A source said the incident took place at around 2am, when the victim was asleep in her room and realised parts of her body were being touched.
"The victim woke up and reached for her phone to call her boyfriend.
"However, the man reportedly continued his actions, prompting the victim to turn on the room lights, after which the suspect fled," the source said.
He said the suspect later sent a WhatsApp message apologising and claiming that he had mistakenly entered the wrong room.
The victim, dissatisfied and worried that the incident might recur, lodged a police report on the same day.
Meanwhile, Cheras district police chief Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan confirmed receiving a report on the incident when contacted.
He said the case is being investigated by the Sexual, Women and Children Investigation Division (D11).
