An unlikely source just confirmed the Exynos 2500 and its extraterrestrial feature
Ryan Haines / Android Authority
TL;DR Satellite connectivity provider Skylo has confirmed the existence of the Exynos 2500.
The chipset is expected to debut on the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
The announcement notes that the Exynos 2500 will offer 'better energy efficiency and higher performance.'
The Exynos 2500 is expected to be Samsung's next flagship processor, but so far, all the information available has come from rumors and leaks. Surprisingly, the next big Samsung chip has now been confirmed, not by Samsung but by a company called Skylo.
If the name sounds a bit familiar, that's because Skylo is the satellite connectivity provider for the Pixel 9 series and the Galaxy S25 series on Verizon.
'Today, we are excited to announce the certification of the Exynos 2500 mobile processor, offering better energy efficiency and higher performance,' Skylo noted in a press release, confirming both the chip's existence and its extraterrestrial capabilities.
The Exynos 2500 is expected to debut on the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Rumor has it that the chipset could power the new foldable in all markets, even the US. This is also the first time Samsung will introduce a flagship Exynos chip on a foldable phone instead of its latest Galaxy S series flagship.
'Samsung's partnership with Skylo is built upon 3GPP NTN standards to unlock connectivity everywhere,' Hui Won Je, VP of the Modem Development Team at Samsung Electronics, noted in Skylo's press release. 'Through our collaboration on the Samsung Exynos Modem 5400 and the Exynos 2500 mobile processor, mainstream devices worldwide will now have the underlying technology to connect to satellites wherever cellular networks are unavailable, ushering in a new era of ubiquitous connectivity,' he added.
In addition to its collaboration with Samsung, Skylo also announced partnerships with OPPO and TECNO to bring NTN-compliant satellite connectivity to future devices from the respective brands.

SoftBank Sells T-Mobile Stake for $4.8 Billion to Bet on AI
(Bloomberg) -- SoftBank Group Corp. raised around $4.8 billion through a sale of T-Mobile US Inc. shares, a move that helps fund the Japanese company's grandiose plans for artificial intelligence. Security Concerns Hit Some of the World's 'Most Livable Cities' As Part of a $45 Billion Push, ICE Prepares for a Vast Expansion of Detention Space As American Architects Gather in Boston, Retrofits Are All the Rage How E-Scooters Conquered (Most of) Europe The Tokyo-based technology group sold 21.5 million T-Mobile shares for $224 each — pricing at the bottom of the $224 to $228 range — in an unregistered overnight block sale, according to the final terms of the deal seen by Bloomberg News. The offering, which Bloomberg reported earlier, represents a discount of 3% to T-Mobile US's Monday closing price of $230.99 per share. SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son is ramping up investments aimed at making AI reasoning superior to humans'. He's overseeing plans to put down as much as $30 billion in OpenAI and is also working with the ChatGPT creator to ferry hundreds of billions of dollars into data centers and related infrastructure around the world under the Stargate banner. SoftBank's original plans for debt financing had snagged on uncertainties around US tariffs. T-Mobile shares fell 3.9% in extended trading, while SoftBank's shares rose 2.1% in Tokyo. A representative of SoftBank declined to comment. Representatives of T-Mobile did not immediately respond to a request for comment outside normal business hours. The deal is the biggest US share sale since Toronto-Dominion Bank sold a $13.1 billion stake in brokerage firm Charles Schwab Corp. in February. Sales of new and existing shares in US-listed companies reached $91.4 billion in the year to date, up from $75.9 billion in the same period a year ago, data compiled by Bloomberg show. The T-Mobile stake sale would be the latest example of Son tapping past investment successes — such as an early bet on Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. that's yielded thousands-fold returns — to fund new ventures. What Bloomberg Intelligence Says This sale could lower adjusted loan-to-value by 1-2 percentage points, but it might need to monetize close to $10 billion more to keep adjusted LTV below a 30% downgrade trigger — assuming it invests about $40 billion in OpenAI, Stargate and the acquisition of Ampere Computing — based on March figures and the current share prices for Arm, SoftBank Corp. and T-Mobile. -Sharon Chen, analyst Click here for the research SoftBank received T-Mobile shares with the completion of the US telecom company's $26.5 billion acquisition of Sprint Corp. in April 2020. Later that year, SoftBank substantially reduced its stake in T-Mobile via a $21 billion deal that helped pay for a record buyback of SoftBank's shares. The stake offered represents about 1.9% of T-Mobile's outstanding shares, according to Bloomberg calculations. SoftBank owned 85.4 million shares or 7.5% of T-Mobile as of March 31, according to its annual report. Deutsche Telekom AG is T-Mobile's largest shareholder with a 59% stake, according to a June 12 filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Bank of America Corp. was sole bookrunner for the deal, the terms show. --With assistance from Min Jeong Lee, Edwin Chan and Ville Heiskanen. (Updates with analyst commentary and share reaction.) Millions Of Windows Users Get Microsoft's Free Upgrade Offer
Millions of Windows users suddenly move NurPhoto via Getty Images What a difference two weeks makes. June started badly for Microsoft, with news that its all-important Windows 11 upgrades had flatlined. But a fortnight later that surprising upgrade reversal has reversed again — and then some. Windows 11 has all but caught Windows 10 for the first time. If the data is right, that's a huge turnaround in 16 days. The data comes courtesy of Statcounter, and while it's never going to be completely accurate — only Microsoft has the actual data, it is indicative. That means it's the trends that matter. With little more than 100 days until Windows 10 falls off support and with more than 700 million users still on Windows 10, this could not be more critical. Windows 10 Vs Windows 11 (Worldwide) Statcounter At a headline level, as at June 17, Windows 10's worldwide market share has dropped below 50% (48.9%) for the first time. More notably, Windows 11 is knocking 50% (47.7%) itself for the first time. This after Windows 11 dipped and Windows 10 recovered in May, widening the gap between new and old in the wrong direction. If anywhere near accurate, this means almost 60 million Windows 10 users have upgraded. Clearly, May could have been a statistical anomaly and this is the data catching up, but either way it's good news for Microsoft and the security community. Windows 10 Vs Windows 11 (United States) Statcounter In the U.S., where Windows 11 overtook Windows 10 earlier this year, the gap is as wide as it's been — 55.2% for Windows 11 versus 42.0% for Windows 10. In Europe, there were slight gains for Windows 11. But the highlight is Asia, where a huge 10% swing sees Windows 10 drop from 59% to 49%, and Windows 11 top 46%. Unfortunately, this means there are still around 700 million Windows 10 users yet to upgrade. What we don't know is where the hard floor will be found. These are the 240-million-plus Windows 10 users whose PC's don't meet the upgrade criteria. Microsoft and PC OEMs are pushing those users to buy new hardware, and the Windows-maker is also launching a migration tool to make the switch as easy as possible. Windows 10 Vs Windows 11 (Asia) Statcounter Two weeks from now, when the data for the full month of June is available, we will see if this was a mid month blip or the mass acceleration of upgrades has continued. No one wants to see hundreds of millions of PCs fall off support at a time when exploited Windows zero-days have become a regular monthly event. For those with compatible PCs running a licensed version of Windows 10, the upgrade to Windows 11 remains free. Your PC will already be nagging you to upgrade, just follow the instructions. For those without, your options remain a paid support extension from October 14 or a new PC. Don't leave it too late and leave your PC exposed.

Motorola confirms Android 16 is coming to these phones
Ryan Haines / Android Authority TL;DR Motorola has revealed which phones will get Android 16. The list includes the Motorola Edge 40 Pro and higher, recent Moto G phones, and recent Razr foldables. Unfortunately, many Moto G phones and the original ThinkPhone are missing from the list. Google has just released Android 16, and we're now waiting for Android phone makers to announce their own rollout plans. Motorola hasn't announced a timeline for availability just yet, but it has revealed which phones will get Android 16. YTechB tirelessly combed through Motorola's website and put together a list of devices which are confirmed to get Android 16. You can check out the full list below. Motorola Edge 2025 Motorola Edge 60 Pro Motorola Edge 60 Motorola Edge 60 Fusion Motorola Edge 60 Stylus Motorola Edge 50 Ultra Motorola Edge 50 Pro Motorola Edge 50 Neo Motorola Edge 50 Fusion Motorola Edge 50 Motorola Edge 40 Pro Moto G Power 2025 Moto G 2025 Motorola G Stylus 2025 Moto G56 Moto G86 Moto G86 Power Moto G85 Moto G75 Moto G55 Motorola Razr 2023 Motorola Razr Plus 2024 Motorola Razr 2025 Motorola Razr Plus 2025 Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 Motorola Razr 60 Motorola Razr 60 Ultra Motorola Razr 50 Ultra Motorola Razr 50 ThinkPhone 25 Unfortunately, there are a few high-profile omissions here. This includes the original ThinkPhone, a variety of Moto G devices, and the low-end Moto E15. In saying so, Motorola's budget phones typically get horrible OS update policies. Motorola's website also lists the Razr 2023 as getting Android 16, but not the Razr Plus 2023. I'm guessing some phones might not be listed because they haven't received Android 15 just yet. So there's still hope that devices like the ThinkPhone and Razr Plus 2023 will get Android 16. Android 16 brings iOS-like Live Updates, an embedded photo picker, improved predictive back support, an Advanced Protection Mode, and anti-scammer protections during phone calls. Got a tip?
