Mixed reality content startup Flam raises $14 million from RTP Global, others

, a startup that provides tools for brands to run mixed reality (MR) advertisements and campaigns, has raised $14 million in a Series A round led by RTP Global, with participation from Dovetail and other strategic investors.
The Bengaluru- and San Francisco-based company will use the capital to expand its presence in North America, Europe, and the Middle East, while scaling operations in Asia.
It also plans to invest in product development across generative AI-based tools for
3D asset generation
, analytics, and an integrated advertising suite aimed at sectors such as retail, sports, broadcasting, and live events.
'Given that there is a powerful product-market fit, we have to expand this,' said Shourya Agarwal, cofounder and CEO of Flam. 'India—we largely understand the market at this point, and this is a factory in place, which we can double down, triple down on the revenue bit. But we are looking at opening the US big time. Other than that, a large part of this money will go into product development and more engineering.'
Founded in 2021 by Agarwal, Malhar Patil and Amit Gaiki, Flam is building a full-stack enterprise suite of generative AI-powered products that enables brands to deliver MR experiences across digital advertisements, TV broadcasts, packaging, and retail locations. Its proprietary tech claims to enable interactive 3D content in less than 300 milliseconds, without requiring downloads or browser redirects.
The company said over 100 brands—including Google, Samsung, Emirates,
Dabur
, Ajio, Flipkart, and Tanishq—as well as a US Presidential campaign, have used its platform. Flam claims these MR campaigns have delivered engagement rates up to 49 times higher and conversion rates four times better than conventional formats.

'We have a stage-wise approach,' said Karthik Raman, chief marketing officer of Flam. 'In enterprises, we've gone as deep as possible and will go deeper in the US, UAE, and Europe. Then, with GenAI, the focus is on how to bring it down to MSME brands and creators—that's our phase-wise approach.'
The company currently employs about 150 people, including nearly a dozen in the US.
Flam had earlier raised
around $4.5 million
in a pre-Series A round from Turbostart, AI-focussed Twin Ventures, Alphatron Capital, several angel investors, family offices, and existing backers. It had also
raised $3.5 million in seed funding
in 2021. With the latest round, Flam has raised a total of $22 million to date.
"The time for MR is now — and Flam is uniquely positioned to lead this wave. What excites us is not just the technology, but the clarity of vision and speed of execution,' said Nishit Garg, partner at RTP Global.

In a major relief for Infosys, the Director General of GST Intelligence has closed pre-show cause notice proceedings against the company for financial years 2018-19 to 2021-22 involving a staggering ₹32,403 crore in GST dues. The latest move effectively ends nearly a year-long GST saga for India's second-largest IT services firm. Mid-last year, the goods and services tax (GST) authorities had slapped ₹32,403 crore notice on Infosys for services availed by the company from its overseas branches for five years starting 2017. The GST demand, in fact, exceeds Infosys's annual profits — Infosys's net profit for full FY25 stood at ₹26,713 crore — and its closure now is bound to come as a significant relief for the tech major. 'In continuation to our earlier communications on July 31, 2024, August 1, 2024 and August 3,2024 on GST, this is to inform that the company has today received a communication from the Director General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) closing the pre-show cause notice proceedings for the financial years 2018-19 to 2021-22,' the company said in the filing late Friday (June 6, 2025) evening. Infosys, which competes with the likes of TCS, Wipro and others for global IT contracts, said it had received and responded to a pre-show cause notice issued by DGGI for the period July 2017 to March 2022 on the issue of non-payment of IGST under Reverse Charge Mechanism. 'The GST amount as per the pre-show cause notice for this period was Rs 32,403 crore. The company had on August 3, 2024 received a communication from DGGI closing the pre-show cause notice proceedings for the financial year 2017-2018. GST notice shows lack of understanding of industry model In July last year, Infosys had informed that Karnataka State GST authorities issued a pre-show cause notice for payment of GST of ₹32,403 crores for the period July 2017 to March 2022 towards the expenses incurred by overseas branch offices of Infosys Ltd, and added that the company has responded to the pre-show cause notice. 'The company has also received a pre-show cause notice from Director General of GST Intelligence on the same matter and the company is in the process of responding to the same,' the filing of July 2024 had said. All along, Infosys maintained that GST is not applicable on these expenses. 'Additionally, as per a recent circular issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs on the recommendations of the GST Council, services provided by the overseas branches to Indian entity are not subject to GST,' Infosys had argued back in July 2024. The tech firm had asserted GST payments are eligible for credit or refund against export of IT services. 'Infosys has paid all its GST dues and is fully in compliance with the central and state regulations on this matter,' the company had contended. The document sent to Infosys by GST authorities at that point had reportedly said, 'In lieu of receipt of supplies from overseas branch offices, the company has paid consideration to the branch offices in the form of overseas branch expense. Hence, M/s Infosys Ltd, Bengaluru is liable to pay IGST under reverse charge mechanism on supplies received from branches located outside India to the tune of Rs 32,403.46 crores for the period 2017-18 (July 2017 onwards) to 2021-22.' The Directorate General of GST Intelligence in Bengaluru had been of the opinion that Infosys did not pay the Integrated-GST (IGST) on the import of services as a recipient of services. For the just-ended March quarter, Infosys reported an 11.7 per cent decline in consolidated net profit to ₹7,033 crore mainly on account of compensation to employees, and acquisitions during the reported period. The company has guided for a revenue growth of 0% to 3% in constant currency terms in the current fiscal year, citing uncertainty in the environment. For the full FY25, profits saw a marginal increase of 1.8% to ₹26,713 crore; revenues climbed 6.06% to reach ₹1,62,990 crore - exceeding its guidance of 4.5% to 5% for the full FY25.

Coimbatore: Simplification of rules and regulations, including those related to GST, licensing and bank loans, is the need of the hour to propel the growth of startups, said Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu here on Saturday. He was speaking at the first demo day organized by the Coimbatore-based startup incubator Aalamaram to celebrate the 23 startups it successfully nurtured and showcase their offerings. Six startups exhibited their products at the event, which saw participation of several startup founders and investors. Speaking after the event, Sridhar Vembu said all the 23 startups should be nurtured in a big way so that billion-dollar enterprises could emerge from them. "Not every startup may be successful. It is not important what percentage of startups succeed. What matters is how many jobs are created through startups," he said. When asked about the kind of support the govt should provide, he said the Union govt had already simplified several procedures to benefit startups. However, further simplification is needed, particularly in GST compliance, licensing and access to bank loans, he said. AAI seeks 17 more acres for airport expansion in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has requested the district administration for an additional 17 acres for the city airport expansion project. The district administration said the land acquisition would begin as soon as they received administrative sanction. Vidya Chandran, district revenue officer (land acquisition for airport), said the district administration had already acquired and handed over 604 acres of the 628 acres requested by the AAI for the airport expansion. Of the remaining land parcels, nine acres is entangled in litigation. The remaining 15 acres is yet to be acquired because of multiple ownership and legal heir issues, she said. "As and when we acquire and hand over the remaining land to the AAI, the people who own land in Singanallur, Irugur and Neelambur areas will face connectivity issues, as some roads will be disturbed during the land acquisition. The additional 17 acres will help address the connectivity issues," the officer said. Pointing out that Chinniyampalayam was a crucial area for the proposed runway extension, city airport director G Sambath Kumar said the land earmarked there was yet to be acquired. "The land acquisition issues are being handled by the state govt." He said the AAI had finalised an Erode-based private construction firm to set up a precast compound wall around the newly acquired land. The work is expected to commence by the first week of August, he said. The AAI had floated a tender on March 19, 2025, to construct the precast boundary wall for 16.67km for the newly acquired land at a cost of Rs29 crore, with a deadline to complete the work in 456 days.
