
Light rain in Gurgaon keeps humidity in check, more in store this week

Despite the rain, the day was partly cloudy. The maximum temperature was recorded at 34.7 degrees Celsius, slightly lower than the previous day's 35.2 degrees Celsius. Humidity level was recorded at 44 percent.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said there will be light to moderate rain across the state for the next five days, with heavy showers expected on Monday and Tuesday.
Rain, although uneven across the city, brought some relief from the heat.

Gurgaon received 30mm of rainfall. Sohna received the highest rainfall (92mm). Other areas, such as Wazirabad (32mm), Kadipur, and Harsaru (28mm each), experienced moderate showers, while Badshapur (10mm) and Manesar (2mm) received lighter rainfall. Pataudi and Farrukhnagar recorded no rainfall.
According to IMD, the western end of the monsoon trough is running south of its normal position, while the eastern end is aligned near its normal position.
Additionally, an upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Punjab and adjoining Haryana in the lower troposphere. A Western disturbance, observed as a cyclonic circulation over Jammu and Kashmir and its neighbourhood, is also influencing weather patterns in the region.
For Sunday, the sky is expected to be partly cloudy with one or two spells of rain and thundershowers.

IMD predicts cloudy sky with moderate rain in Delhi on Tuesday
New Delhi, Jul 28 (PTI) The national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 35.6 degrees Celsius on Monday, 2.6 notches above the season's average, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. Light showers were reported in parts of the city, while the minimum temperature settled at 28.4 degrees Celsius, 1.1 degrees above normal, it added. A cloudy sky with moderate rain is expected on Tuesday, according to weather forecasts. In an X post, Mahesh Palawat, vice-president of private weather forecasting agency Skymet, wrote, 'Delhi, get ready to be drenched in monsoon showers on July 28 and 29. The LPA (low pressure area) will move south of Delhi over the northeast." The IMD has forecast thunderstorms with rain on Tuesday, with the maximum and minimum temperatures predicted to hover around 30 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively. The air quality was in the 'satisfactory' category with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 86 at 4 pm, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed. According to the CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', 201 to 300 'poor', 301 to 400 'very poor', and 401 to 500 'severe'.
