Richie Wellens hails Josh Koroma for ‘great finish, great goal' in Plymouth win

Wellens said: 'It's something we want to do better – when we press high and we win the ball high we can play the ball forward quickly. It was a great pass for the goal and a great finish.
'Josh Koroma composed himself well, kept the defender at arm's length and always knew what he was doing: great finish, great goal.
'It was a professional performance from us. It's a difficult place to come, a long way to come.
'It was a long day yesterday travelling down and today's been a long day so you are not always going to see flowing football and total control.
'But I think we controlled certain areas of the game and we are playing against a relegated club from the Championship and they are expected to be right up there.
'Apart from the first 15 to 20 minutes where they were on top I thought we made quite a few chances and could have scored a couple more goals.
'I am proud of my players second half because they (Plymouth) made a lot of unforced errors and I think that was down to the way we pressed them and our work rate.'
Argyle boss Tom Cleverley said: 'You can probably tell my body language I am not as burning angry as I was on Saturday.
'I saw a group of guys who were focused, were organised were trying their best.
'We just fell short, that is where we are at, at the minute.
'The Lincoln and the Barnsley performances were similar in that we offered attacking threat but conceded three really soft goals.
'The Bolton and Leyton Orient performances were similar in that we looked a bit more solid and in control but just in that final part were just a bit off it tonight.
'Putting the two performances together is what we are striving for before we can complete.
'Alex Mitchell has come in and made us look more solid. I was pleased with his debut and there were some positives to take out today. I though (Ayman) Benarous was fantastic making his first league start for us.
'Having watched the goal on the small monitor next to me it looked like a good decision. I will have to watch it back, it was a small screen and obviously in the heat of the battle. It just looked like one that maybe we couldn't complain about.'

PLYMOUTH ARGYLE manager Tom Cleverley walked off set as technical issues delayed his post-match interview last night. The Pilgrims fell 1-0 to Leyton Orient at Home Park, Cleverley's fourth League One defeat out of four since taking charge. 8 8 8 Argyle have endured a disastrous summer, with former manager Miron Muslic walking out to join Schalke and several key players leaving. Last night's match was broadcast on the club's internal Argyle TV service. Shortly after the final whistle, Cleverley headed to the studio to perform his post-match interview. As the former Manchester United star stood wearing a microphone, media staff tried to fix some technical issues. When the presenter, presumably not realising he was on air, answered his phone, an agitated-looking Cleverley looked like he wanted to leave the studio. And after about 90 seconds of standing there waiting, the 36-year-old eventually did just that, removing his microphone and walking off set. Around 30 seconds later the feed cut to black. Posting a clip of the exchange, an Argyle fan wrote: "I've just been sent this by a mate. And I'm not going to lie, it completely epitomises everything that's wrong with the club. Unprofessional and amateur. Look at Clevs face, the blokes obviously done. He's seen enough of this s***show, I'm putting money on him walking." "Of course we should be doing better. We shoulder that responsibility, but today was one of those nights where I have to say we've done everything we can. "We've just fallen short of a team that right now is a better level than us."

Ryan Reynolds showed his true colours with WhatsApp message before meeting new signing
Wrexham new boy Conor Coady has revealed the warm, down-to-earth welcome he received from the club's Hollywood owners, praising their transformative impact on the Welsh side Wrexham's Hollywood owners have shown their kindheartedness after giving a warm welcome to one of their new signings. Former Wolves and Everton defender Conor Coady joined the Welsh side from Leicester for £2million at the start of August. The Red Dragons fought off interest from Scottish giants Rangers to secure the 32-year-old's services. Coady has already established himself as an important figure at the Racecourse Ground, starting in both of their opening Championship fixtures. The England centre-back has now opened up on the friendly greeting he received from club co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac before even meeting them. The two actors initially introduced themselves via phone messages before coming face to face with the new team member as they flew in from the US to watch Wrexham 's first home game of the season against West Brom last Saturday. Speaking during an appearance on BBC Radio 5 Live, Coady said: "When I signed, he [Ryan] sent me a video and Rob messaged me. It was amazing just to get a message to say, 'Welcome to the club.' I got a WhatsApp from an American number which I thought was a bit strange. "I sat on the couch with my missus watching it and it was a video of Ryan. I was really starstruck and he was just welcoming me to the club and saying how good it is to have me, what we want to do as a club and how we want to go forward." Coady joked that he was taken aback by Reynolds' height when speaking to him in person. He added: "Meeting him for the first time, he's quite a big fella. I said he can play centre half with me, and he said he's never played football in his life. "He's a really lovely man. What he's done for Wrexham, and what Rob has done for Wrexham, I think it's incredible to see where they're at now." Reynolds and Mac, who recently applied to legally change his surname from McElhenney, have transformed Wrexham's fortunes since buying them in February 2021. The club has achieved promotion in each of the last three seasons, most recently in April taking them from the National League into the Championship under manager Phil Parkinson. While the owners insist on leaving football matters to the playing staff, they have received a large amount of praise for their approach to running the club. And Coady believes the A-listers' humility is key to Wrexham's success. "I think what goes under the radar a bit is the trust they've put in people," he said. "They give so much trust to the people at the top end of our club, which I think has been absolutely fantastic over the years. That's a big reason why the club is where they're at today, because they give so much trust in the gaffer. "I saw them do an interview the other day, and they said, 'We don't get involved with the football.' I thought the interview was outstanding. They said, 'We tell a story about the club,' and I love that, because they're getting the story of Wrexham out there. "It's an amazing story so why not tell that story? And what better people to tell the story of Wrexham than Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds?" Wrexham have so far failed to register any points in their first Championship campaign in 43 years. They started the season with a 2-1 defeat away at Southampton, followed by last weekend's 3-2 loss at home to West Brom. Parkinson's side next face crisis club Sheffield Wednesday at the Racecourse on Saturday as they look to establish themselves in the second tier.
