What time is Max Holloway vs. Dustin Poirier 3? Walkouts for UFC 318 main event

USA Today7 days ago
Dustin Poirier will get a proper sendoff in his home state of Louisiana when he meets Max Holloway for the BMF title to close out his career – and their trilogy. This lightweight bout scheduled for five rounds is taking place Saturday, July 19 at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
Poirier and Holloway first met in February 2012, with Poirier winning by first-round submission in a featherweight bout at UFC 143. The two men squared off again in April 2019 for the interim lightweight championship, with Poirier battering Holloway to win a lopsided unanimous decision in the UFC 236 Fight of the Night.
Six years later, Poirier, 36, and Holloway, 33, will go at it again – which, for Poirier, will be the last dance as he's announced he will retire afterward.
Holloway is looking to rebound from the first knockout loss of his career last October, when he was finished by then-featherweight champ Ilia Topuria. Holloway has since declared he is done competing at 145 pounds and hopes to assert himself as a 155-pound title contender.
Poirier, who is 3-3 in his past six fights, is coming off a submission defeat to then-lightweight champ Islam Makhachev in his third failed attempt at claiming the undisputed 155-pound title. Poirier never has lost two consecutive fights in his career.
Here are the walkout times for the UFC 318 main event between Holloway and Poirier.
When does the UFC 318 fight card start?
The UFC 318 lineup consists of 13 fights. Early prelims start at 6 p.m. ET, prelims at 8 p.m. ET, and the pay-per-view main card at 10 p.m. ET.
Max Holloway vs. Dustin Poirier 3 walkout time
As the main event, Holloway and Poirier are expected to make their walks to the octagon at approximately 12:15 a.m. ET.
The fight streams on ESPN+ pay-per-view.

Jordan Love told what needs fixing to bolster Packers' Super Bowl hopes

The Green Bay Packers are in a challenging NFC North division, where three teams clinched a playoff spot last season. Moreover, the Chicago Bears are in Year 2 with Caleb Williams, and they'll be looking to take a significant step under new head coach Ben Johnson. As a result, each division game will matter and the minor details could tilt the result in one team's favor. Jordan Love is entering his third full season as the Packers' starting quarterback, and in his first two campaigns as the No. 1 guy under center, he's led Green Bay to the playoffs. Nonetheless, for Green Bay to reach the playoffs for a third straight season with Love, the question is whether they can make a run that leads to a Super Bowl birth. On Friday's "NFL Live," ESPN NFL analyst Ryan Clark commented on what Love needs to do to have the player's regular-season success translate to the postseason. MORE:Packers add 49ers' discarded running back to help depth behind Josh Jacobs "It's about what he does in the regular season as well," Clark said. "It's about protecting the football in the most crucial moments. He carries this entire organization's dreams in his right arm and his decision-making... Jordan Love has to protect the ball while maintaining his aggressiveness at the quarterback position. "I believe that if they do that, with what Josh Jacobs added, with Matthew Golden as the number one pick this season, and also with the defense and Jeff Hafley entering their second year, they have an opportunity to be one of the best in all of the NFL, not just the NFC." Love has thrown 11 interceptions in back-to-back seasons, and in the Wild Card game this year against the Philadelphia Eagles, he threw three interceptions, which are mistakes that cannot happen in the playoffs. It will be interesting to see whether the 26-year-old can cut down on the interceptions as part of the improved decision-making that Clark is mentioning.

Nikita Krylov vs. Bogdan Guskov prediction, pick, start time for UFC on ABC 9

Nikita Krylov and Bogdan Guskov meet Saturday in the main card opener of UFC on ABC 9 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom. Last event: 2-3 UFC main cards, 2025: 70-53-1 Nikita Krylov vs. Bogdan Guskov UFC on ABC 9 preview Krylov (30-10 MMA, 11-8 UFC) will aim to rebound from a first-round knockout loss to Dominick Reyes at UFC 314 in April. That result snapped a three-fight winning streak, which included stoppages of Alexander Gustafsson and Ryan Spann, with a unanimous decision nod over Volkan Oezdemir. ... Guskov (17-3 MMA, 3-1 UFC) quickly righted the ship after being submitted by Oezdemir in his 2023 UFC debut. Since then, Guskov has finished three straight opponents: Zac Pauga, Billy Elekana, and the aforementioned Spann. Nikita Krylov vs. Bogdan Guskov UFC on ABC 9 expert pick, prediction Despite having excellent lighter-weight action fights below and above this bout, the UFC matchmakers and their love for force-feeding us big guys on Fight Night main cards strikes again. Although Krylov is a tenured light heavyweight who deserves some love, and Guskov is someone who brings the action, this fight will likely be the equivalent of one of those highway car crashes that everyone slows down to look at – but no one seems to remember by the time they get to where they're going. Krylov's last loss is probably giving pause to many, but given that I predicted and expected that exact outcome opposite Dominick Reyes – I can't say that I'm ready to condemn "The Miner" over it. In fact, I suspect that Krylov's last loss will only further encourage him to exploit the major weakness in Guskov's game, which is wrestling. For that reason, I'll pick Krylov to get back on track with a submission win in Round 1. Nikita Krylov vs. Bogdan Guskov UFC on ABC 9 odds The oddsmakers and the public are favoring the more experienced fighter, listing Krylov -202 and Guskov +172 via FanDuel. Nikita Krylov vs. Bogdan Guskov UFC on ABC 9 start time, how to watch As the main card opener, Krylov and Guskov are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 12:10 p.m. ET. The fight broadcasts live on ABC and streams on ESPN+.
