SCT's ‘Cult-a-Way' fest returns with a bang

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering (SCT) is all set to host Cult-a-Way 2025, its flagship techno-cultural festival, at Kanakakkunnu on May 30, 31, and June 1.
Now in its 13th edition, Cult-a-Way promises a blend of culture, entertainment, tech, and more.
'It is open to the public. Entry is free, except for performances at the Nishagandhi Auditorium, for which tickets will be charged,' says Nandagopan G, a final-year student and public relations coordinator of Cult-a-Way.
The entertainment lineup is an impressive mix of musical talent, featuring Tamil artist Yogi Shekhar, bollywood singer Akasa Singh, Gabri, Urmi, and MC Cooper, among others. At least seven top artists will perform over the three days.
In addition to the performances, the festival will host a series of tech workshops in collaboration with various academic departments at SCT.
Visitors can also look forward to quizzes, a flea market, and stalls selling food, clothing, and accessories. 'We're also focusing on promoting entrepreneurship—both from within the college and outside,' adds Nandagopan.
As a prelude to the main event, a pre-fest run called 'Cult Run' will be held on May 28 at Manaveeyam Veedhi, in collaboration with KIMS Health, to raise awareness about mental health.
'More than just a college fest, this is a tech institution's fun way to reach out to the masses,' adds Nandagopan.

Nora Fatehi On Tamil Debut With Kanchana 4: ‘Language Is A Challenge, But…'

Nora Fatehi is all set for her Tamil debut with Kanchana 4. She calls language a challenge but embraces it, sharing excitement about stepping into Tamil cinema. Nora Fatehi is all set for her Tamil debut as the actor joins Kanchana 4 as the female lead. Kanchana 4 is one of the much-awaited films, and joining it as a lead, especially in a debut, is quite exciting for Nora. She is embracing this new phase of her career with enthusiasm. While talking to Hindustan Times about why she chose Kanchana 4, Nora Fatehi shares, 'When Kanchana 4 was offered to me, I immediately felt it was the right project to step into Tamil cinema. The franchise already has such a strong legacy, and the script was so unique that I wanted to be part of it. I was looking to be a part of another comedy after the success of Madgaon Express." Language has been a challenge, but Nora isn't one to shy away from experiments. 'Of course, language is always a challenge, but I love challenges. It's definitely the hardest so far, but I spend extra hours rehearsing," she explains. With experience in Malayalam and Telugu industries too, Nora reflects on the differences she's noticed. 'Every industry has its own flavour. Tamil cinema is very rooted in storytelling, and there's a lot of emphasis on performance and strong scripts. Bollywood, on the other hand, has its own larger-than-life energy. Both industries are passionate about cinema, but the styles of working, the audience expectations, and even the filmmaking processes feel slightly different. For me, it's exciting to experience and learn from both worlds." All you need to know about Nora Fatehi Nora Fatehi was raised in Toronto by her Moroccan parents. She made her foray into Bollywood with Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans (2014) and became a household name thanks to her stunning dance performances in hit tracks like Dilbar, O Saki Saki, Kamariya, and Garmi across Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam films. A self‑taught dancer who learned belly dance by watching online tutorials, she's also appeared on reality shows like Bigg Boss 9 and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. On the work front, Nora Fatehi was last seen in Netflix's series The Royals, sharing screen space with Ishaan Khatter, Bhumi Pednekar, Sakshi Tanwar, Chunky Pandey, and Zeenat Aman. Up next, she is set to appear in the Kannada action drama KD – The Devil, directed by Prem and produced by Suprith under the KVN Productions banner. The film also features Dhruva Sarja, Reeshma Nanaiah, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, and Jisshu Sengupta in pivotal roles. The makers are yet to announce its release date. Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive. Pawan Kalyan's fantasy epic Hari Hara Veera Mallu finally makes its streaming debut. Here's when and where to watch

Pawan Kalyan's latest release, 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu', is finally making its way to streaming after its theatrical run. The Telugu period adventure epic directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and Jyoti Krishna was the much-anticipated release for Pawan Kalyan, since taking over as Andhra Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister. Hari Hara Veera Mallu had a stacked cast consisting of Bobby Deol, Anupam Kher, and Nidhi Agarwal, among several known others, and the mythological fantasy elements promised a stellar big-screen experience. However, the film found little critical acclaim on releasing. The dubbed versions in Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam will also be available on Prime Video. Amazon Prime took to their official Twitter handle just hours before the film's streaming debut to post, 'A tale of rebellion, rage, and righteousness. The storm that started in theatres now takes over your screens.' The movie dropped on the platform at midnight on August 20 and took social media by surprise with the sudden announcement. As often is the case with big-ticket Telugu movies, Hari Hara Veera Mallu too had a short theatrical window and is hitting the home screens in under a month from its big screen run. The film garnered mostly cold responses at the time of its release and was heavily criticized for its shoddy VFX work and clumsy storytelling. Hari Hara Veera Mallu tells the story of an outlaw who sets out to hunt down Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb's 'Kohinoor' diamond. The action epic did not live up to its pre-release hype and ended up underperforming in theatres. The OTT release will finally give a section of the fans of the superstar to catch up with this lesser-seen action spectacle.
