Local High School's marching band joins the Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington, DC.
A local high school band, The Sound of Horizon, will march in Washington, DC's National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to join 13 other high school bands selected to perform as part of this national springtime tradition.
Horizon High School's band performs at all varsity football games during the fall or at community, state and national performances throughout the school year. The Sound of Horizon traveled to Savannah and Atlanta, GA in the 2022-2023 school year for their first national appearance, performing in the 199th Savannah St. Patrick's Day Parade.
However, this year, The Sound of Horizon will perform at The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade, which will be televised in Washington, DC, and nationally syndicated.

Student opportunities continue to grow as the program soars, from 36 students on their first day together in 2021 to well over 220 students enrolled in classes today. The school is located in the Winter Garden area and can be seen with a closer view on the map below.

Strong thunderstorms are possible in west Orlando
Channel 9 is still tracking rain chances during the evening hours, mainly in the west of the Orlando metro area. A few strong thunderstorms are possible. More warmth and higher rain chances for central Florida's work week
It was a warm end to the weekend and more warmth and higher rain chances are on the way for the work week. The scattered showers and storms will quickly end this evening and quiet conditions are expected overnight. Morning temperatures will be in the mid-70s. It seems the Saharan dust will be slow to clear out Monday. Expect similar rain and storm coverage to Sunday, with many areas remaining dry. Highs for Monday will be in the mid-90s. Moisture quickly rushes in by Tuesday, resulting in much higher chances of rain and storms. Activity will mainly be confined to the afternoon and evening hours, with temperatures on Tuesday in the low 90s. Even more moisture is likely for midweek, with elevated coverage of rain and storms expected. Temperatures are expected to reach the low 90s on Wednesday and Thursday. Drier air starts to arrive on Friday, resulting in fewer afternoon storms. Highs to close out the work week will be in the low 90s. Central Florida bracing for heat, rising humidity, and scattered showers this week
Once again, afternoon high temperatures will reach the 90s. Across the region, high temperatures will range from 92 to 95. More humidity will build up later today, keeping quiet our afternoon temperatures in check for the next week. One or two passing showers will be possible mainly along the coast this afternoon and evening. No severe storms are expected. Consistent rain chances will return on Monday. These will be typical sea breeze storms that will continue for the rest of the week. The tropics are quiet for now.
