Israel Strikes Houthi energy facility in Yemen
The strike reportedly hit the Haziz power plant in the Sanhan district south of Sanaa, causing temporary outages and fires at the site. Local Yemeni media and Houthi-affiliated sources described the attack as an act of aggression against civilian infrastructure, with no immediate reports of casualties.
Israel's Defense Forces (IDF) emphasized that the operation targeted "energy infrastructure used by the Houthi terrorist regime," citing the group's ongoing campaign of attacks launched in solidarity with Palestinians since the Gaza war began in October 2023.
The Houthis have intensified their military actions in recent months, targeting Israeli-linked vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, and launching ballistic missiles toward Israel. Despite a ceasefire agreement with the United States in May, the group vowed to continue its campaign against Israeli interests.
This latest strike marks a significant escalation in Israel's military posture in the region, raising concerns about broader conflict involving Iran-backed militias and international shipping routes.

Gaza – Saba: Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, announced today, Sunday, that it had targeted the Be'eri and Shokidah settlements in the Gaza envelope and struck Israeli soldiers and military equipment north of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. In two separate statements received by the Yemen News Agency (Saba), the Brigades said: 'We shelled the Be'eri and Shokidah settlements in the Gaza envelope with several rockets in response to the crimes of the Israeli enemy against our people.' They added: 'This afternoon, we fired mortar shells (60mm caliber) at concentrations of Israeli soldiers and equipment advancing along Street 5, north of Khan Younis.' This action comes as part of the Palestinian resistance factions' response to what they describe as the Israeli enemy's acts of mass killing against the residents of Gaza, supported by the United States, since October 7, 2023. These acts include killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, disregarding international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt them.
