Capital unveils first digital women police station
According to a police spokesperson, the Online Women Police Station is equipped to handle domestic abuse, gender-based violence, and other crimes against women and children. A dedicated helpline (1815) has been established, where women can call without hesitation to report their complaints, seek legal advice, or receive immediate assistance, he said.
Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said that the station offers facilities such as video calling and online chat support, eliminating the need for women to visit a police station for registration of First Information Reports (FIRs), which are now delivered directly to their homes.
IG Rizvi further said that the station operates with a First Responder Unit that reaches the complainant's location within five to seven minutes. In cases where immediate resolution is not possible, female investigation officers from the Online Women Police Station take prompt action to ensure justice is delivered, he added.
The IG said that all call handlers, responders, and investigating officers for the 1815 helpline were female police personnel. Moreover, emergency calls made to the general 15 helpline are automatically redirected to 1815 using artificial intelligence, ensuring no distress call goes unheard, he told. Rizvi said the helpline operates 24/7 to guarantee that assistance is always just one phone call away for those in crisis.

TikTok fame lands fake CTD officer in jail
Listen to article Police arrested a man impersonating a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) inspector who used fake gear, a black car, and social media videos to project a false image of authority and intimidate the public. According to Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, the arrest took place near Khanna Bridge on the Islamabad Expressway during routine patrolling by Traffic Police ASI Muhammad Ramzan. The suspect, driving vehicle registration BF-2421, falsely claimed to be a CTD officer and threatened police with serious consequences, a police spokesperson told APP on Sunday. Officers recovered a fake CTD uniform, a blue revolving siren light, an iPhone 16 Pro Max, USB, and other materials used to impersonate law enforcement. A search of his phone revealed several TikTok and social media videos where he posed as a CTD officer conducting raids. Further inquiry confirmed the man had no ties to any security agency and was using the false identity to scare civilians and boost his popularity online by forming a fake gang persona. Lohi Bher Police, led by SHO Fawad Khalid, registered a case under sections 170 and 171 of the Pakistan Penal Code, along with additional provisions for impersonation and misuse of emergency equipment. Police warned that impersonating state officials and misusing uniforms is a serious offence and would be dealt with strictly.

CDA launches crackdown on illegal housing societies
ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a decisive crackdown on illegal housing societies operating within the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), following the directions of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and under the supervision of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. As part of the ongoing operation, multiple unauthorized housing schemes were identified and action was taken against their illegal constructions, unapproved advertisements, and the sale of plots without official sanction. The CDA revealed that these societies were functioning without mandatory approvals, including layout plans and no-objection certificates (NOCs), in clear violation of ICT Zoning Regulations. Enforcement teams from CDA, in coordination with the ICT Administration, dismantled illegal site offices, boundary walls, and other unauthorized infrastructure developed by these societies. Legal notices have also been issued to developers and sponsors, warning of strict penalties and further legal action in case of continued non-compliance. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa stressed that illegal housing schemes pose significant threats to public safety, infrastructure, and the master plan of Islamabad. He reiterated the authority's firm resolve to curb unregulated urban sprawl and enforce planned development across the federal capital.
