Wu Jing surprises fans with neck brace at public appearance
28 Apr - Wu Jing surprised fans recently, after appearing at a Beijing event wearing a neck brace.
The actor, who rarely made public appearances in recent months, attended the inauguration of the Strategic Partnership between the Central Academy of Drama and Yingwutang last week with the brace, arousing concerns about his health.
When asked about it, the action star revealed that he had a car rollover accident not long ago, which caused compression of the nerves in his neck that required him to wear a neck brace.
"I have not been a good role model for others," he said with a laugh, adding, "Everyone needs professional training to avoid injuries."
It was just reported recently that Wu will be returning to Liu Cixin's sci-fi world with "The Wandering Earth 3".

Harris Yulin, prolific actor known for ‘Scarface,' ‘Training Day' and ‘Frasier,' dies at 87
Harris Yulin, the veteran stage and screen actor whose career notably included roles in 'Scarface,' 'Training Day' and 'Ghostbusters II,' has died. He was 87. Yulin died Tuesday of cardiac arrest in New York, his manager Sue Leibman and his family confirmed in a statement to The Times on Thursday. He was 'part of the vanguard of a generation who cared passionately about the craft of acting — this deep, lifelong dedication led to extraordinary, resonant performances that were a gift to audiences, the actors he worked with, and the art of acting itself,' said the statement, which also remembered the Los Angeles native as an 'avid birder and lover of the sea.' Born Nov. 5, 1937, Yulin enjoyed a varied screen acting career that spanned multiple decades and spawned more than 100 credits, according to IMDb. In film he portrayed a corrupt Los Angeles official in cahoots with Denzel Washington's immoral narcotics officer in 'Training Day,' a dismissive judge who oversees the court case against the supernatural sleuths in 'Ghostbusters II,' and a detective interested in doing business with Al Pacino's Tony Montana in 'Scarface.' Yulin counted numerous TV series among his credits, including 'WIOU,' 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' '24,' 'Nikita' and 'Veep.' In the final decade of his life, he also appeared in Netflix series 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' and 'Ozark.' In 1996 he earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for guest actor in a comedy for his appearance as crime boss Jerome Belasco in the hit NBC series 'Frasier.' Beyond TV and film, Yulin pursued a prolific career on stage with included Broadway productions of 'Hedda Gabler,' 'The Price,' 'The Visit,' and 'Watch on the Rhine' and off-Broadway shows of 'Hamlet,' 'Arts and Leisure' and 'Rain Dance.' Throughout his career, Yulin brought his talents to the Court Theater and Goodman Theater in Chicago, the Gate Theatre in Dublin and the Bay Street Theater in New York. Yulin was also a stage director who oversaw productions of several plays, including 'The Glass Menagerie,' 'The Trip to Bountiful,' 'This Lime Tree Bower,' 'Men's Lives' and 'The Man Who Came to Dinner.' Yule was also an instructor who taught at Juilliard, Columbia University and at HB Studio. He continued working on new projects up until his death, including the MGM+ series 'American Classic,' starring Kevin Kline, Laura Linney and Jon Tenney. Deadline reported that the series began production on the East Coast and Yulin was preparing to begin shooting his role this week. His role will be recast. Series co-creator and executive producer Michael Hoffman mourned Yulin in a statement:'[He] was very simply one of the greatest artists I have ever encountered.' Hoffman, who worked with Yulin on the 2005 film 'Game 6,' added: 'His marriage of immense technique with an always fresh sense of discovery, gave his work an immediacy and vitality and purity I've experienced nowhere else,' Hoffman said. 'And what he was as an actor, he was as a man, the grace, the humility, the generosity. All of us at 'American Classic' have been blessed by our experience with him. He will always remain the beating heart of our show.' Yulin is survived by his wife Kristen Lowman, son-in-law Ted Mineo, nephew Martin Crane and godchildren Marco and Lara Greenberg. He was preceded in death by his daughter Claire Lucido. A memorial will be held at a later date. ___ © 2025 Los Angeles Times. Distributed by Tribune Content Agency, LLC.

Wu-Tang Clan Release Trailer For ‘Rise Of The Deceiver' Video Game
The Wu-Tang Clan are going digital, yet again, as the group will be releasing a new video game that will bring players into the realm of Shaolin. At this year's Summer Game Fest, legendary rap group the Wu-Tang Clan unveiled their latest cultural venture: Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver, an action-packed cooperative RPG developed by Brass Lion Entertainment. The game promises a blend of hip-hop, mythology, and immersive gameplay, soundtracked by both classic Wu-Tang tracks and original music composed by renowned producer and video game enthusiast, Just Blaze. Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver was originally envisioned as a companion piece to Angel of Dust, an upcoming supernatural horror film produced by Ghostface Killah and directed by RZA under AOD Films. The game will allow up to four players to battle through a fictional version of Shaolin, squaring off against The Deceiver, a menacing antagonist who serves as the game's final boss. Through its gameplay and narrative, Rise of the Deceiver aims to further expand the themes and dark mystique of the film. 'Creating Angel of Dust has been an incredible journey,' Ghostface Killah said in a statement. 'Bringing the story to life through film was just the beginning. Now, with the development of the video game, we are immersing fans even deeper into this supernatural thriller universe.' He continued, adding, 'It's about blending music, storytelling, and interactive experience. I can't wait for fans to step into the darkness and discover what lies beneath.' This marks the Wu-Tang Clan's first major video game project in over two decades, following the cult-classic 1999 release Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style. That game, featuring all nine original members as playable fighters, broke new ground by integrating hip-hop culture directly into the gaming world. It's since become a nostalgic gem for fans of both rap and retro gaming. While Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver will initially debut on PC, console versions are slated for release at a later date. No official launch window has been revealed, but excitement is already building within both the gaming and music communities. Ghostface previously shared his excitement for the film and gaming collaboration: 'It's a blessing to partner with Oscar-nominated producer Shaun Redick and Impossible Dream Entertainment, and to be doing business with my brother RZA directing is a dream come true. Putting all these great minds to work together will be legendary.' RZA echoed the sentiment: 'The creative collaboration of RZA and Ghostface has stood the test of time through our music. Now the opportunity to put our creative energies together onto the silver screen has arisen and I'm turbo charged. Bong Bong!' With its unique fusion of music, storytelling, and action, Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver stands poised to become another defining moment for the Clan in gaming history.
