The £19 high street push-up bikini which made my 32Cs go up a cup size – and was better than tops DOUBLE the price

The Sun22-07-2025
I DO love my smaller boobs, I really do.
My 32C girls is what's spared me from endless back pain, wearing a bra and they also don't get in the way of weightlifting.
8
But while I've grown to accept, embrace and love my flatter chest - which has been pretty much the same size since they started developing - there are days when I wished they were a tad bit bigger.
And I am not the only one. A recent study found that a whopping 47.5 % of women wanted larger breasts than they currently had.
Just a mere 29.3 % were satisfied with their current breast size, while 23.2% wanted smaller breasts, the data showed.
In the UK, breast augmentation is the most common cosmetic surgery, with an estimated 10,000 women having breast implant surgery each year.
However, like all surgeries, going under the knife for larger chest does involve high risks, such as scarring, numbness and blood clots - and many women have since shared how their implants ''nearly killed'' them.
For those who don't want to take the risk, or fork out the eye-watering sum for a surgery, the fashion industry offers a solution - push-up bikinis.
I, Fabulous ' writer, Kate Kulniece, tested out a variety of bikini tops suited for every budget to see - and here's how it went...
Super Push-Up Bikini Top Indonesia, £30
8
This is the first bikini top I tried on - and all I could say was ''Wow''.
In all my 29 years of life, I've never my girls looking so lifted and full - I felt like a whole new person.
Watch hilarious moment Halle Berry's bikini bottoms fall OFF as star, 58, dances to boyfriend Van Hunt's new song
Another huge bonus of this Super Push-Up Bikini Top Indonesia is the buttery soft material - it's slinky to touch and felt luxe.
The straps are also adjustable - which means you can give your boobs and extra oomph and bounce when adjusted correctly.
Although I didn't go for a cooling swim in this £30 bikini top, it felt extra secure - and there will be no unfortunate nip slips, despite my breasts looking one size larger.
My only issue was the back clasp fastening - not sitting right in the middle, it felt a little fiddly to put the two together.
Simply the breast rating: 4/5
Push-Up Bikini Top Shiny Satin, £45
8
On paper, this Push-Up Bikini Top was everything I wanted - a flattering design, shiny satin that screams elegance and a somewhat retro feel to it.
But in reality, I was quite disappointed and underwhelmed after trying it on - yes, the champagne-pink colour was lovely, but I found the underwire digging into my ribcage.
Perhaps the suffering may have been worth it if my boobs got a lift - but they looked just as flat as they usually do (which I have no problem with).
For the hefty £45 price tag, I was expecting something more - and sadly, this wasn't it.
Simply the breast rating: 2/5
Tie Front Bikini Crop Top, £16.99
8
Online, this New Look Cream Wave Texture Tie Front Tie Bikini Top, £16.99, boasts an impressive five-star rating - so I did have certain expectations.
Although it's not advertised as a push-up bikini top, this wallet-friendly option does feature padding and the model looked sensational.
On me, however, the cream top looked a bit sad and the overall quality felt a bit flimsy - so poor that I feel like the pads would keep moving up and down with every wave you battle in the sea.
While New Look has become one of my go-to stores for summer staples, I'm going to give this one a swerve - and advise you do the same.
Simply the breast rating: 2/5
Khaki Monogram Padded Halterneck Plunge Bikini Top, £19.99
8
Priced at just £19.99, this New Look number if one of the cheapest options I spotted on the high street - yet it still looks posh, in my eyes.
The print resembles a high-end brand that sells for hundreds of pounds - Fendi - but for a fraction of the eye-watering price.
While the bikini is advertised as padded, it didn't really have that mega push-up effect I was after - but I still found the look quite flattering.
As someone whose wardrobe consists of mainly halterneck tops, I appreciated the design and the gorgeous khaki colour, with the golden elements.
Yes, it may not have done much for my girls - but out of the seven options I tried on, this was my favourite.
Simply the breast rating: 5/5
Super Push-Up Bikini Top, £30
If you're looking for a mega cleavage, Calzedonia is your best bet - the lingerie retailer offers a huge variety of sexy bikini tops, including this Super Push-Up Bikini Top for £30.
Flawless style, flattering ruching detailing at the front and a plunging neckline - this is the perfect pick for those after a classic design to wear for summers to come.
This gorgeous piece - which comes in five stunning colours - feels light against the skin and while my breasts were lifted, it was in a subtle way.
Another bonus are the adjustable and detachable straps - beach goers can wear them crossed over at the back or tied around your neck.
How to find a flattering bikini for any body type
According to Boux Avenue the best swimwear for pear body shapes is a high-cut swimsuit to add length to your legs.
For those with a straight body type, the underwear brand suggests a ruched swimwear option to create shape and emphasise your legs.
For hourglass curves, the brand suggests a strappy swimwear style, or triangle bikini.
For apple body shapes, an underwired bikini is best to work with your natural volume with a crinkle high-waist bikini brief.
For round body shapes, supportive cups are a must and a high-cut leg will add poise to your swimwear body pose.
Push Up Triangle Bikini Top, £13
Currently slashed to just £13, this Boohoo deal is perfect if you're tight on money... or don't mind flashing everyone - because that is exactly what will happen.
Yes, the price is amongst the lowest in the market - but that is also reflected in the quality.
Despite tying the straps as tight as possible, it offered virtually no support - think going for a swim, getting hit by a wave and realising you've given everyone a full show.
This is a personal preference, of course, but I also didn't appreciate the bright white colour - it was giving hospital vibes and removing sunscreen stains would also be a nightmare.
Simply the breast rating: 1/5
Padded Push-Up Bikini Top Indonesia, £30
8
I rarely shop at Calzedonia - however, it's safe to say their bikinis have become a firm favourite.
While at £30 this Padded Push-Up Bikini Top was on the more high-end side, it's a worthwhile investment, in my opinion.
The soft padding and the clever placement of the underwiring added volume to my boobs in a second - not to mention the vibrant red colour which made me feel like a goddess.
Teamed with golden jewellery - or perhaps a statement necklace - this fiery red bikini is bound to made heads turn on the beach.

BBC Radio 2 loses nearly half a million listeners since weekday relaunch

Radio 2 has lost nearly half a million listeners since the launch of its new weekday schedule earlier this year, new figures show. The BBC station had an estimated weekly audience of 12.62 million across April to June of this year, down from 13.11 million in the previous three months. It is the lowest total for Radio 2 since the current method of measuring listeners was introduced by research body Rajar in autumn 2021, following a break during the Covid-19 pandemic. The figures are the first full set of quarterly data since Radio 2 overhauled its weekday schedule at the end of January 2025. The new schedule included Scott Mills replacing Zoe Ball as host of the flagship breakfast show. New additions also saw Trevor Nelson begin a new afternoon show and DJ Spoony present a late evening slot on Mondays to Thursdays. Zoe Ball bowed out as presenter on December 20 2024, after nearly six years in the role, with Gaby Roslin and Mark Goodier filling in during January until Mills began. The Radio 2 breakfast show had an average weekly audience of 6.22 million in the three months to June, down from 6.45 million in January to March – again, the lowest figure since the pandemic. Despite the dip in listeners, the slot continues to enjoy the largest audience on national radio at that time of the day, ahead of Radio 4 's Today programme, which had an average audience of 5.64 million in the latest period, as well as the breakfast shows on Radio 1 (3.86 million) and commercial broadcaster Greatest Hits (3.24 million). The audience for the Today programme is down very slightly from 5.70 million in the previous three months, but up from 5.47 million in the equivalent period a year ago. The latest Rajar figures also show that: Radio 3's breakfast programme has lost a fifth of its listeners, down from 798,000 in January-March to 639,000 in April-June: a period that coincided with the departure of long-term host Petroc Trelawny and his replacement from April 7 by Tom McKinney. Radio 4 had an average weekly audience of 9.23 million in the latest quarter, down slightly from 9.33 million in the previous three months but up from 8.98 million a year earlier. Radio 5 Live saw a jump in listeners both on the previous quarter (up 3%) and year on year (also up 3%), with an average audience of 5.51 million in April-June. Radio 1's average weekly audience of 7.48 million is up slightly on the quarter by 1%, but down 8% year on year. Radio 2's weekly audience has now fallen by nearly two million in three years, down from an average of 14.53 million listeners in April-June 2022 to the latest figure of 12.62 million, though it remains comfortably the UK's most popular radio station. This period has seen a number of veteran DJs disappear from the Radio 2 airwaves, such as Ken Bruce, who left to join Greatest Hits in March 2023; Steve Wright, who died in February 2024; and Johnnie Walker, who died in December 2024. Helen Thomas, head of Radio 2, said: 'I'm hugely proud that in a quarter where Radio 2 shone a light on Eurovision, celebrated Elaine Paige's 60 years in showbusiness, launched the RHS Radio 2 Dog Garden at the Chelsea Flower Show, and presented a VE Day 80 concert, Radio 2 firmly remains the UK's most listened to single radio station. 'Congratulations to Scott Mills, whose Breakfast Show remains the number one breakfast show in the country, and Vernon Kay, whose weekday mid-morning show continues to be the most listened to programme on UK radio, with a weekly audience of 6.6 million.' Mohit Bakaya, director of speech and controller of Radio 4, said: 'I'm delighted to see Radio 4 and 5 Live continue to deliver for audiences with increased listening figures year on year. 'BBC Radio remains the number one UK radio brand and listeners continue to turn to us for trusted news and analysis, as well as the big sporting moments in the national calendar.' BBC stations accounted for 42.1% of all the time people spent listening to the radio in the UK in the latest quarter, a bigger percentage share than any other brand, although the figure is down from 43.1% in the previous three months. Three years ago the BBC's share stood at 48.1%. Elsewhere, the commercial network Greatest Hits saw a drop in listeners for the fifth quarter in a row, though its average audience of 6.66 million is still higher than two years ago, when it stood at 5.79 million. Among the smaller news-based stations, Times Radio had an average of 616,000 listeners across the three months to June, its second highest numbers since launching in 2020, down 1% on the previous quarter but a jump of 29% on the year. GB News averaged 547,000 listeners in the latest quarter, down 2% on the previous three months but up 6% year on year, while Talk – formerly Talk Radio – had an average of 487,000 listeners, up very slightly by 0.4% on the quarter but down 29% on the year.

My heart ached to see Ozzy Osbourne's children standing shoulder to shoulder in the city he made so proud

TO the sound of the fantastic Bostin Brass Band, Ozzy's cortege passed slowly along Broad Street in Birmingham. Along with the bursts of applause from the thousands of devoted fans who had lined up to say goodbye, the procession was everything Ozzy would have wanted. 3 3 This day was, as he had hoped, a celebration of his life and his legacy. His heart however, I know, would have broken to see his wife Sharon, held up by her son Jack, breaking down in tears in front of the sea of flowers that had been laid for him at the Black Sabbath bridge. Those close enough to Sharon shouted out to her and applauded in a small gesture of support. Yesterday was no doubt one of the most difficult days of Sharon's life. My heart ached as I saw Jack, Aimee, Kelly, and Louis standing shoulder to shoulder in the city their father made so proud. Losing your husband, your father, is difficult enough. Sharing that grief, although they wanted to, would have been incredibly hard. Wednesday's procession was the first of two fitting farewells to the Prince of Darkness who would have no doubt made a joke about all the fuss. As Ozzy himself said, there was no such thing as death for him. 'I will retire when I hear the nail go in the box and then I will do an encore,' he joked last year. 'I am the Prince of Darkness.' Today Sharon, their children, and Ozzy's closest friends will gather at a church in Gerrards Cross to say their final goodbyes to the pioneer of heavy metal music. Ozzy, I have been told, will then be laid to rest in the family's Buckinghamshire home where he made so many happy memories. The pain of his loss will never go away for those closest to him and for the fans who held him up as an icon. But with his music, Ozzy's legacy will continue to inspire and delight generations to come. 3
