PM declares 'Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq' on May 10 to mark operation victory

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday declared that May 10 will be observed annually as 'Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq' to commemorate the 'magnificent success' of 'Operation Bunyanum Marsoos' and to express national solidarity, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
In a national address, the PM said the day would be marked each year across the country with fervour and passion, paying tribute to the exceptional bravery and professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces. 'The professional capabilities of our brave forces kept our head high with pride,' he remarked.
He announced that Friday, will be observed as a special day of tribute and gratitude. On this day, the nation will honour the Armed Forces' success on the defence front and bow before Allah in thanks. Special prayers will be offered nationwide in continuation of Youm-e-Tashakur, seeking progress for the country and the well-being of its people, he added.
Premier Sharif also unveiled a comprehensive support and compensation package for the victims of Indian aggression. He said families of Pakistani civilians martyred during Marka-e-Haq will be provided Rs10 million in compensation, while civilians who were injured will receive amounts ranging from Rs1 million to Rs2 million.
For the families of martyred personnel of the Pakistan Armed Forces, the government will disburse compensation ranging from Rs10 million to Rs18 million, depending on the rank of the martyr.
Additionally, Rs19 million to Rs42 million will be allocated to facilitate the provision of a house for the heirs of the martyrs. The government has also committed to continuing the full salary, including allowances, of martyred soldiers up to their scheduled retirement date, he added.
The PM further announced that children of martyred soldiers would be entitled to free education up to the graduation level. Moreover, one daughter of every martyred serviceman will receive a marriage grant of Rs1 million. Injured military personnel will be compensated between Rs2 million and Rs5 million based on the severity of their injuries.
The federal government, he said, will also reconstruct homes and mosques damaged in the Indian attacks. All medical treatment expenses for the injured will be fully covered by the government, he added.
'It is the responsibility of the government to take care of the children of martyrs, and we will fulfil this obligation,' the PM stated.
He emphasised that all individuals who rendered services for the protection of Pakistan's honour and defence would be acknowledged at the national level and honoured with awards.

The PM extended heartfelt Eid-ul-Azha greetings to the federal minister. He also conveyed special Eid wishes for Pakistan Muslim League-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain. He inquired about Chaudhry Shujaat's health and prayed for his swift recovery, expressing his sincere well wishes. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to fast track implementation on the key decisions taken in recent meetings between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during this year. The understanding to this effect reached during telephonic conversation between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday. The Prime Minister said this would help accelerate bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and investment. During the conversation, the Prime Minister conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the Turkish President, as well as to the brotherly people of Turkiye, on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. While recalling their recent meetings in Istanbul and Lachin, the Prime Minister thanked President Erdogan once again for Turkiye's strong and unwavering support to Pakistan during the recent Pakistan-India crisis.

RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Asim Munir visited forward positions along the Line of Control (LoC) to celebrate Eidul Azha with frontline troops. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the visit commenced with Eid prayers, during which special supplications were made for Pakistan's enduring peace, stability, and prosperity as well as for martyrs who made supreme sacrifice for the defence of their motherland. Extending warm Eid greetings to the officers and soldiers, the Field Marshal commended their unwavering commitment, professional excellence, and steadfast service in the face of persistent challenges. The COAS expressed that celebrating Eid on the frontline away from their families serves the superior national purpose of defending the motherland at all costs throughout the year. Field Marshal Asim Munir lauded the formation's exemplary performance during Marka-e-Haq, Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos and paid solemn tribute to the martyrs and Ghazis whose sacrifices continue to fortify the nation's security and resolve. COAS said, 'You have befittingly avenged the loss of lives of innocent Pakistani civilians including children, women and elderly through your bold and effective response.' While interacting with troops, COAS expressed deep appreciation for their high morale, exceptional operational readiness, and resolute vigilance in responding effectively to Indian ceasefire violations. He reiterated complete confidence in the battle preparedness of the armed forces to decisively deter and defeat any act of aggression. Underscoring Pakistan's principled stance, the Field Marshal affirmed that the just and valiant struggle of the Kashmiri people against Indian occupation will never be forgotten. He emphasized the need for the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in line with the aspirations of its people and the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. Upon arrival at the LoC, the COAS was received by the Commander, Rawalpindi Corps.
