Jennifer Aniston Opens Up On Her Divorce From Brad Pitt: ‘It Was Such A Vulnerable Time'
Jennifer Aniston has opened up about her divorce from Brad Pitt. In a recent interview, the FRIENDS star recalled the time when she parted ways with Pitt and revealed how she coped with being under the spotlight during that difficult time. Jennifer was speaking to Vanity Fair when she recalled a feature interview she had given to the same publication just after her divorce. The actress called it a 'jarring experience" and admitted that it was a 'vulnerable time" for her.
'I haven't looked at that article in forever. I just remember the experience of doing it, which was kind of jarring. It was also such a vulnerable time. But yeah, that was one for the memoirs," she said.
The actress further mentioned that during her divorce, she was offered the role of Brooke Meyers in the movie The Break-Up. However, the makers were not sure if they should cast her because of a turmoil in her personal life.
'It was kind of cathartic to go right from that. So when they came to me, they were a little nervous about making the offer because they thought, 'Oh, is that insensitive? Is it inappropriate?' But I actually thought, 'What a great opportunity.' I knew it would actually kind of benefit me emotionally, just as a human being, and also serve the script and the character pretty well," she admitted.
Jennifer Aniston further expressed disappointment with the media coverage of her divorce and added, 'It was such juicy reading for people. If they didn't have their soap operas, they had their tabloids. It's a shame that it had to happen, but it happened. And boy did I take it personally. We're human beings, even though some people don't want to believe we are. They think, 'You signed up for it, so you take it.' But we really didn't sign up for that."
A Look At Jennifer Aniston And Brad Pitt's Love Story
Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt reportedly met in 1994 via their managers. However, the two started to date in 1998. Their romance blossomed, and they tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in July 2000. At the time, they were Hollywood's golden couple. But they parted ways in 2004. Rumours suggested that it was Pitt's on-set chemistry with Angelina Jolie in Mr. & Mrs. Smith that ultimately led to his separation.

Nandotsav rituals mark Lord Krishnas birth at temples in Mathura, Vrindavan
Mathura (UP), Aug 17 (PTI) Temples in Mathura and Vrindavan on Sunday reverberated with festivities as they celebrated Nandotsav, a celebration marking the joy on Lord Krishna's birth held a day after Janmashtami. Gyanendra Kishor Goswami, a priest at the Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan, said expressions of joy form an integral part of devotion in the Brijbhoomi. 'A mixture of curd and turmeric is used to symbolise infant Krishna's mischief. In a ritual known as 'dadhikandha', this mixture is playfully thrown on the devotees," Goswami said. During the celebrations, toys, clothes, jewellery and money were flung from the sanctum sanctorum for the devotees to collect as 'prasad', a tradition commemorating Nand Baba's delight at Lord Krishna's birth, he added. Earlier in the day, a 'Mangl Aarti' was performed at the Banke Bihari temple after the ceremonial 'Mahaabhishek'. At the Shri Krishna Janmasthan in Mathura, the Bhagwat Bhavan was decorated as Nand Bhawan, which echoed with chants of 'Nand ghar anand bhayo, jai Kanhaiya Lal ki' along with devotional songs. Kapil Sharma, secretary of the Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan, said toys, clothes, sweets and utensils were distributed among the devotees as prasad. Similar rituals were held at Vrindavan's Sapt Devalaya. At the Dwarkadhish temple, the deities were adorned as Nand Baba and Ma Yashoda. 'The festival reflects the joy of Krishna's parents at his birth. Items are distributed to the devotees on this occasion to share the happiness," Rakesh Tiwari, the temple's media and legal advisor, said. The King and Queen are in Scotland for their yearly holiday. The trip usually starts in August, but Charles's holiday was delayed because he was leading the Victory over Japan Day commemorations. VJ Day, observed on August 15, marks the end of World War Two worldwide. On Friday, the King and Queen attended a ceremony at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to mark the day. They were joined by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, members of VJ associations, military personnel, and senior politicians for the national remembrance service. The King laid a wreath in honour of those who died and held a two-minute silence. While at the event, Camilla was moved to tears when a 105-year-old war veteran paid tribute to Charles in his speech. Yavar Abbas saluted 'my brave king" as he added a personal message. He spoke directly to King Charles and praised him for attending despite his ongoing cancer treatment. The veteran also said that the King's late grandfather, King George VI, would have been proud of him. King George VI, who was Queen Elizabeth II's father, struggled with lung cancer for years before passing away in 1952. view comments First Published: August 17, 2025, 22:57 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
