There's drama out there that quietly unsettles you from the very first scene. It doesn't yell for attention. Instead, it draws you into a sense of unease, as if a hidden puzzle is just beneath the surface. By the time the credits roll, after about 2 hours and 20 minutes, you realize it's not just another thriller. The ending stays with you, a twist so unexpected that it reframes everything you thought you'd seen. Which film is this?
Here we are talking about DNA, a 2025 Tamil-language investigative drama‑thriller directed by Nelson Venkatesan. The story centers on a couple who believe their newborn child has been swapped shortly after birth. As the wife grows increasingly certain something is wrong, the husband starts pursuing the truth, search that becomes the spine of the film, revealing a grim conspiracy far larger than a mere hospital error. What is the storyline?
The central conflict plays out with Atharvaa Murali as Anand, man haunted by his past, and Nimisha Sajayan as Divya, a woman living with borderline personality disorder who insists her child isn't theirs. Their marriage and the emotional rabbit hole they fall into add weight to the mystery unfolding around them. Supportive performances by Ramesh Thilak, Balaji Sakthivel, Viji Chandrasekar, Chetan, Riythvika KP, and others bring dimension to the investigation. How was the reception of DNA?
When it reached theaters on June 20, 2025, DNA drew praise for its tightly-woven narrative, technical polish, and the way it balanced emotional urgency with suspenseful pacing. Critics gave it between 3 to 3.5 out of 5 stars, noting that although it faced some clichés and unnecessary detours (like fabricated songs or melodramatic moments), it remained gripping enough to sit through its length without losing momentum. More about DNA
Now, for streaming: DNA is available to watch on JioHotstar (also known as Disney+ Hotstar), beginning July 19, 2025, in five languages—Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, complete with subtitles. It's also accessible through OTTplay Premium, widening its reach across the country. Overall, DNA offers more than just thrills. It thoughtfully explores parenthood, mental health, and corruption behind medical institutions.

'He is such a champ': Hrithik Roshan praises Jr NTR's ahead of War 2 release

Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan heaped praise on Jr NTR during a recent public appearance in Sri Lanka, calling him 'such a champ' for his unmatched dancing prowess. The two actors are set to appear as rivals in the much-anticipated action thriller 'War 2', releasing on August 14. Taking to the stage, Hrithik was visibly in awe of the 'RRR' star's skillset. 'Give it up for Jr NTR, guys. He is incredible; I mean, that man is such a champ,' he told the audience. Roshan, long admired for his own dancing ability, revealed he was stunned by Jr NTR's natural rhythm. 'He is the first co-actor that I have worked with that does not need rehearsals when he dances. It is absolutely incredible (that) he has every step inside him already,' he added. Hrithik also teased an exciting musical showdown in the film. 'Yeah, we have this song where, I would say it is kind of a dance-off. But yeah, working with him has been an extraordinary experience for me. It has taught me a lot of things that I will now incorporate in my life,' he said. Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra, 'War 2' serves as a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster 'War'. Jr NTR plays the antagonist in the high-stakes action flick, which will be released in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. The film is slated for a box office clash with Rajinikanth's upcoming film 'Coolie', setting the stage for one of the biggest cinematic face-offs of the year. With a dance battle and star power to match, 'War 2' is shaping up to be a visual spectacle.

Netflix cancels Arnold Schwarzenegger's Fubar following underwhelming Season 2 viewership despite star power

Arnold Schwarzenegger's spy action series 'Fubar' will not be returning for a third season on Netflix, the streamer confirmed, a little over a month after Season 2 debuted on June 12. The decision comes after what was described as a surprisingly soft return for the show. Though the first season launched with significant buzz in May 2023—buoyed by Schwarzenegger's global popularity—its second season failed to capture similar momentum. Monica Barbaro, who co-stars as Schwarzenegger's on-screen daughter Emma and became an Oscar nominee in between seasons for 'A Complete Unknown', also returned for Season 2. Season 2, released more than two years after Season 1, managed only a brief appearance in Netflix's English-language Top 10. During its launch weekend, the show earned 2.2 million views, a steep drop from the 11 million views that greeted its premiere season. It peaked at #7 in its first full week with 3.3 million views and barely held onto the #10 spot in Week 3 with 1.8 million, before vanishing from the rankings. The story of 'Fubar' centres on CIA operative Luke Brunner (Schwarzenegger) and his daughter Emma (Barbaro), who each lead double lives while unknowingly working for the same agency. Luke Brunner and his daughter Emma have lied to each other for years, with neither of them knowing that the other is a CIA operative.' The cancellation places 'Fubar' among a short list of Netflix originals dropped in 2025, including 'The Recruit', 'Pulse', and 'The Residence'. Nevertheless, the platform has renewed around 20 scripted series this year alone, with recent greenlights for 'Untamed' Season 2, 'Tires' Season 3, 'Ransom Canyon' Season 2, and 'Virgin River' Season 8.

Ajith Kumar Marks 33 Years in Cinema, Racing With Heartfelt Tribute And Big Motorsport Feat

Chennai: Tamil cinema icon and motorsport enthusiast S Ajith Kumar has penned an emotional letter marking 33 years of his extraordinary journey in films and racing, describing it as a story of perseverance, gratitude, and purpose. Ajith, who debuted in 1990 with En Veedu En Kanavar, shot to fame with Aasai (1995) and became a household name with the romantic blockbuster Kadhal Kottai (1996). His portrayal of twin brothers, including one hearing and speech impaired, in Vaali won him his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor. His 50th film, Mankatha, directed by Venkat Prabhu, was also a box-office success. After a break to focus on motorsport, Ajith returned to films with Thunivu in 2023 and Good Bad Ugly this year. But 2025 also saw Ajith making global headlines for his racing achievements. On January 7, Ajith showcased remarkable grit by finishing third in the 991 category at the prestigious Dubai 24H Race, despite a major crash during practice earlier in the week that had almost forced him to withdraw. His performance under pressure has been widely praised by fans and racing professionals alike. Reflecting on his journey, Ajith wrote, "I did not come from legacy or influence. I started from the outside, with nothing more than a will to try. Life tested me over and over, but I never stopped. I endured, got back up, and kept moving forward." Ajith described his return to motorsport in 2025 under Ajith Kumar Racing as "a statement to myself and anyone who ever doubted that age, fear, and obstacles are real, but so is willpower." The actor also expressed deep appreciation for his fans, saying, "I am not what I am without you. I will never take your love for granted, and never will I trade your love for my benefit." He thanked filmmakers, technicians, political leaders, and the media for their support, and acknowledged critics for sharpening him. Ajith paid tribute to his wife Shalini - "the pillar of my life" - and their children Anoushka and Advik for providing balance and purpose. Ajith signed off with his characteristic humility: "I may not always be visible. I may not always speak. But I am always grateful. And I will always give everything I have-on screen, on the track, and in life."
