Banbury woman charged over suspected XL bully dog attack

A woman has been charged after a suspected XL bully attacked and killed another dog.Eliza Roberts, 36, from Banbury, Oxfordshire, faces two counts of possession of a fighting dog, allowing it to be in public place without a muzzle or lead, being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.The charges are in connection with an incident at the fields near St Peter's Church in Church Lane, Hanwell, on 26 March.Thames Valley Police previously said it involved a suspected XL bully attacking a small white schnauzer and poodle mixed breed.
Ms Roberts is due to appear at Oxford Magistrates' Court on 5 June.

A man has been charged with arson after three shops and several homes were damaged by fire. Emergency services were called to West Avenue, in Clacton, Essex, on Monday at 00:35 BST to reports of a 40 firefighters were sent to the scene, and 70 residents were evacuated from their homes and taken to a refuge centre set up in a nearby hotel, before later moving to a leisure centre. There were no reports of any injuries. Christian Capes, 42, of Beach Road, Clacton, was charged with arson with intent to endanger life. A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man was found dead inside a home in Mansfield Police officers were called to Newhaven Avenue at about 18:20 BST on Sunday after paramedics discovered the body of a man in his 50s.A murder investigation was launched and the force said it believed the victim was injured following a disturbance in the street the night have also arrested a 19-year-old woman and 76-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender, and the three suspects remain in custody as the investigation continues.
