Death Valley (2025-)
Although he might be best known to American audiences for playing Wormtail in the Harry Potter films, Timothy Spall's career is filled with proof that he is one of the best actors of his generation. In Death Valley, he plays a retired TV actor who once played a TV detective and has now been recruited to help a real-life detective solve a series of crimes.
It's a goofy premise, but intentionally so, and Death Valley proves to be the kind of British cop show that lands on the lighter side of the genre. It may be about murders, but that doesn't mean that Death Valley has to be dour.
You can watch Death Valley on BritBox.
Towards Zero (2025)
Adapting Agatha Christie is a tried and true well for the Brits to turn to, and Towards Zero is just the latest example. This adaptation follows two detectives who are called to investigate the death of a wealthy widow, only to discover the various tendrils that connect to the case and ultimately unveil a grander murder plot.
Like all of Christie's stories, Towards Zero is plotted to perfection and features an excellent cast of young British actors who are all doing wonderful work in period garb. Matthew Rhys and Anjelica Huston are among the standouts, but truly, the entire cast is terrific.
You can watch Towards Zero on BritBox.
Death in Paradise (2011-)
If you're sick of watching people hook up on the beach, Death in Paradise might be the show for you. The series follows a British detective who feels and acts like a fish out of water as he investigates crimes on the Caribbean island of Saint-Marie.
Like any long-running procedural, the joy of Death in Paradise is its regular rhythm, which follows a particularly satisfying formula. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the show doubles as a travel showcase, offering up some of the most beautiful locations in the world on a regular basis.
You can watch Death in Paradise on BritBox.

Welcome to the orange era. Taylor Swift announced her 12th studio album and revealed the cover art and more details on the New Heights podcast on Wednesday evening. On Aug. 13, Swift made her podcasting debut on Travis and Jason Kelce's podcast, New Heights. She talked about her relationship with Travis, reclaiming her masters, her experience on the Eras Tour, and, finally, her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. Here's everything to know so far about TS12, including the release date, tracklist, cover art, the singer's inspiration behind the record and more. What Is The Name Of TS12? Swift's 12th studio album is called The Life of a Showgirl. On New Heights, Swift revealed that she worked on the album while touring in Sweden on the Eras Tour. When Jason asked why she chose orange as the theme of the album, Swift responded, 'It feels kind of energetically how my life has felt, and this album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant, electric, and vibrant." Swift later added that the album matches how her life feels in the current moment and reflects 'everything that was going on behind the curtain' during the Eras Tour. 'I wanted to do an album that was focused on quality, on the theme, and on everything fitting together like a perfect puzzle. With these 12 songs from my 12th album, I feel like we've achieved that.' What Is The Life Of A Showgirl Release Date? The Life of a Showgirl will be available everywhere on Oct. 3. What Does The Life of a Showgirl Album Art Look Like? Hours before Swift's New Heights episode, the singer's website featured another countdown. At the top of every hour, a new lock appeared, and the colors matched the four T.S. books placed behind the artist during the New Heights interview. At 7 p.m., the site unveiled the album cover art for The Life of a Showgirl vinyl, cassette, and CD with a poster. Fans can also purchase four limited-release deluxe CD variants: the 'Sweat and Vanilla Perfume' edition, the 'It's Frightening' edition, the 'It's Rapturous' edition, and the 'It's Beautiful' edition. Each version features different artwork and photo cards, as well as a jewelry box with a unique collectible charm bracelet. Check out the official album cover below. What Is The Life Of A Showgirl Tracklist? The Life of a Showgirl will feature 12 tracks in total. Swift clarified during her podcast interview that 'there are no other songs coming,' adding that there isn't a 13th track or any others on the way. She teased that the songs on the album will feature melodies that are so 'infectious you're almost angry at them,' and lyrics that are just as 'vivid, but crisp, focused, and completely intentional.' Check out all the song titles, below. Who Are The Producers On The Life Of A Showgirl? Max Martin, Shellback and Taylor Swift are all credited as producers on The Life of a Showgirl. Swift shared on New Heights that this is the first album where she's working solely with both of them. 'These guys they're just geniuses in different avenues and different ways,' she said. 'Working with them again was absolutely incredible.' Before the news was confirmed, Swift released a playlist, And, baby, that's show business for you ❤️🔥, with 22 tracks from various albums. Swifties were quick to point out that all the songs were produced by the songwriting and production duo, Max Martin and Shellback, with whom the singer collaborated on Red, 1989 and Reputation. Will The Life Of A Showgirl Feature Any Collabs? Yes! Sabrina Carpenter will appear on The Life of a Showgirl. She's listed as a collaborator on the titled track, 'The Life of a Showgirl (Feat. Sabrina Carpenter).'

The 1 Netflix Idea Harry & Meghan Are Refusing to Do Amid Reports Their New Deal Is a Massive ‘Downgrade'
The drama surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix deal has taken center stage over the past few weeks. The pair's Netflix deal was set to expire in September, and reports indicated it would not be renewed. However, other reports indicated that this wasn't an indictment of the couple and didn't demonstrate a desire on Netflix's part to stop working with them. Instead, it all had to do with the streamer's changing strategy, which had them pushing away from the type of long-term deals signed with Harry and Meghan, and more towards deals that were of the 'first look' type. Former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama had exactly the same thing happen to them, and like Meghan and Harry, they signed another deal soon afterwards. More from StyleCaster Where Diana Would Have Stood in Harry & William's 'Profound' Feud After Reports the Heir 'F-ing Hates' His Brother The 1 Meghan-Related Ultimatum Charles Gave Harry Before Agreeing to Reconcile-'This Is About Father & Son' Related: Here's what each royal inherited from Queen Elizabeth 'We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As Ever brand,' Meghan said in a statement when the new Netflix deal was announced. 'My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.' The streamer's involvement in the As Ever means the brand 'will continue expanding into new product categories with new items continuing to be released throughout the remainder of the year.' According to the Sun, the deal does not include the possibility of another documentary like the one Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made for their first Netflix project, titled Harry & Meghan. Instead, the deal is geared toward funding projects the couple wants to bring to the screen. The deal also means Netflix will continue to back Archewell Productions, with funding reportedly covering staffing and office costs. Season 2 of Markle's lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, will premiere later this month, with a holiday special, With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, set to premiere in December. In addition, Archewell is set to produce two upcoming projects: Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within, a documentary about children in the Masaka region of Uganda, and Meet Me at the Lake, a romance adaptation of the novel of the same name by Carley Fortune. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Fox News Digital that the new deal was 'a clear sign that the Sussexes are not A-listers and that, despite the appeal of their brand, they have taken a bad hit.' 'There clearly is no repeat of the reported $100 million Netflix offered before. This first-look deal is certain to be less, probably a good deal less. It is true that Netflix continues to link with As Ever, Meghan's lifestyle brand, and that may be the most commercially successful part of this new arrangement.' However, others claim the deal isn't actually all that uncommon these days. Branding expert Doug Eldridge told Fox News Digital, 'While it appears like a negative downgrade on first pass, that's akin to reading only headlines versus the fine print,' Eldridge said. 'In other words, Harry and Meghan still have several other creative projects with Netflix, as well as an expanded relationship around the As Ever lifestyle brand. The latter will be a revenue generator for both sides, which is difficult to create (much less sustain) around traditional reality television.' 'This might not be a home run for Markle, but it's certainly not the strikeout critics might have been hoping for,' he added. Netflix's own statement made it clear they're happy to be working with the couple. 'Harry and Meghan are influential voices whose stories resonate with audiences everywhere,' Bela Bajaria, Netflix's chief content officer, said in a statement. 'The response to their work speaks for itself — Harry & Meghan gave viewers an intimate look into their lives and quickly became one of our most-watched documentary series.' 'More recently, fans have been inspired by With Love, Meghan, with products from the new As Ever line consistently selling out in record time. We're excited to continue our partnership with Archewell Productions and to entertain our members together.' So, they might not be doing another documentary series, but we'll be seeing plenty of other projects from Archewell on Netflix.
