Miss United States accuses GOP Rep. Cory Mills of threatening to release explicit videos of her

The Hill7 hours ago
A Florida Republican official and beauty pageant title-holder has accused Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.) of threatening to release explicit videos of her after their romantic relationship ended earlier this year, according to a police incident report.
Lindsey Langston, who was crowned Miss United States 2024 and was elected as a Republican state committeewoman last year, made the allegations in an interview with the Columbia County, Fla., Sheriff's Office on July 14.
Mills told The Hill in a statement that the claims 'are false and misrepresent the nature of my interactions.' He has not been charged with a crime.
According to the police incident report, Langston, 25, began a romantic relationship with Mills, 45, in November 2021 and moved into his house in Florida after he told her his divorce was finalized in May 2024.
In February 2025, Langston ended the relationship after she saw news reports that police were investigating a physical altercation between Mills and another woman in his Washington, D.C. residence. Both Mills and the alleged victim later denied that a physical altercation took place.
'Lindsey confronted Cory about the woman, to which Cory told her he was not in a romantic relationship with her and the press fabricated the story,' the police incident report said. 'Lindsey then found a social media account for the other woman and saw posted photos of her with Cory.'
After the break-up, 'Cory has contacted Lindsey numerous times on numerous different accounts threatening to release nude images and videos of her, to include recorded videos of her and Cory engaging in sexual acts,' the incident report said.
Mills also sent messages threatening to harm men that Langston dated in the future, she told police.
The last message Mills sent Langston — who was crowned Miss United States on Oct. 8, 2024 — before the report on June 12 was: 'I hope you hold your crown until the end.'
The allegations and incident report were first reported by Drop Site News and Blaze News.
Columbia County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Steven Khachigan told The Hill that the report was forwarded to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for further review. The FDLE did not immediately return The Hill's request for comment.
Before speaking to police, Langston consulted Anthony Sabatini, a former Florida state representative who ran in the Republican primary against Mills for his congressional seat in 2022, for legal advice, Sabatini told The Hill.
In a statement to The Hill, Mills took aim at Sabatini.
'Anthony Sabatini is weaponizing the legal system to launch a political attack against the man who beat him in the primary, using his corporate legal office to push a narrative built on lies and flawed legal arguments – all to score political headlines,' Mills said.
'We have not been made aware of any report or allegations from law enforcement or the alleged complainant,' Mills continued. 'These claims are false and misrepresent the nature of my interactions. I have always conducted myself with integrity, both personally and in service to Florida's 7th District.
'Out of respect for the legal process, I won't comment further at this time. My team and I will fully cooperate to ensure the truth is made clear. I remain focused on serving my constituents and advancing America First policies. I appreciate your understanding as we deal with this private matter and your support during time,' Mills said.
Sabatini in response pointed to screenshots of messages allegedly sent by Mills to Langston, which have been posted on social media.
'Get me his number and I can send him videos. Take care,' Mills allegedly said in one message.
'Let him put his actions behind his mouth. I can send him a few videos of you as well. Oh, I still have them,' Mills allegedly said in other messages.
Sabatini told The Hill that a restraining order for Langston against Mills is pending.

MAGA's Obsession With Sydney Sweeney Takes Cringe Turn

MAGA's newfound obsession with Sydney Sweeney took a turn for the deeply cringe in the form of a fawning tweet from the Department of Defense's Rapid Response team. On Monday afternoon, the @DODResponse account on X posted a photo of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth disembarking from a plane in a sunglasses, a blue blazer, and blue jeans, with the caption, '@secdef has great jeans'. The post comes after days of discourse surrounding a controversial American Eagle ad starring Sydney Sweeney that touted the actress's 'good genes,' and which critics interpreted as endorsing eugenics. Criticism from the left led MAGA to defend Sydney Sweeney—whose filmography includes programs like Euphoria and The Handmaid's Tale that many conservatives would likely dismiss as 'woke'—particularly when it was revealed that she was a registered Republican. President Donald Trump weighed in on Sunday, telling reporters, 'If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic!' In a later Truth Social post, Trump misspelled her name, but told his followers that she had the 'HOTTEST ad out there,' adding that the jeans she was advertising are 'flying off the shelves.' 'Go get 'em Sidney,' he declared. Trump's son, Don Jr., showed his support last week by sharing an AI-generated image of Trump in Sweeney's place in the ad with the caption, 'That Hanse…. Um, Donald is so hot right now!!!,' being a reference to Zoolander. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), meanwhile, wrote in a post on X, 'Wow. Now the crazy Left has come out against beautiful women. I'm sure that will poll well….' In the same vein, Vice President JD Vance criticized the left's response to the ad during his appearance on the Ruthless podcast, telling the hosts, 'My political advice to the Democrats is continue to tell everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive is a Nazi.' He continued, 'That appears to be their actual strategy. I mean, it actually reveals something pretty interesting about the Dems though, which is that you have a normal all-American beautiful girl doing like a normal jeans ad. They're trying to sell jeans to kids in America and they have managed to so unhinge themselves over this thing. And it's like, you guys, did you learn nothing from the November 2024 election?' While Sydney Sweeney has not responded publicly to the backlash, American Eagle released a statement that stressed that the ad 'is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story.' 'We'll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone,' the statement read.

Now Trump Is Gushing Over ‘Republican' Sydney Sweeney's Ad

President Donald Trump has joined a chorus of MAGA fans praising Sydney Sydney over her provocative jeans advert. While speaking to reporters before departing Allentown, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, Trump was asked about reporting over the weekend that the Euphoria actress is a registered Republican. After learning her political leanings, the president said the 27-year-old's ad for American Eagle jeans is 'fantastic.' 'She's a registered Republican? Now I love her ad,' Trump said. 'You'd be surprised at how many people are Republicans. That's what I wouldn't have known, but I'm glad you told me that.' Sweeney listed her party affiliation as Republican in publicly available records reviewed by The Guardian on Sunday. She registered to vote in Florida in June 2024. 'If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic!' Trump added. Sweeney recently drew widespread attention—and backlash—for starring in an American Eagle campaign that played on the words 'jeans' and 'genes.' In one spot, Sweeney says, 'Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color. My jeans are blue.' The optics of that messaging featuring a blonde-haired, blue-eyed movie star did not land well with many viewers, drawing accusations that it promoted eugenics and racial superiority. Many figures on the right, meanwhile, have celebrated the ad, cast the backlash as ridiculous, and defended Sweeney. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas was accused of being 'thirsty' after he shared a revealing picture from Sweeney's ad last week and wrote that, 'Now the crazy Left has come out against beautiful women.' Vice President JD Vance also commented on her appearance, describing her as an 'all-American beautiful girl.' 'My political advice to the Democrats is continue to tell everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive is a Nazi,' Vance said on a podcast on Friday. 'That appears to be their actual strategy. I mean, it actually reveals something pretty interesting about the Dems though, which is that you have a normal all-American beautiful girl doing like a normal jeans ad. They're trying to sell jeans to kids in America and they have managed to so unhinge themselves over this thing. And it's like, you guys, did you learn nothing from the November 2024 election?' Sweeney has not responded to the backlash, but American Eagle did on Friday in a brief statement. ''Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans' is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story,' the company said of the campaign. 'Great jeans look good on everyone,' it added. A representative of Sweeney has been contacted for comment.

Trump Misspells Name of His ‘HOTTEST' Crush Sydney Sweeney

Donald Trump has dialed the distraction up to 11, misspelling the name of his new crush in an unhinged stream of consciousness rant where he also said he 'hates' Taylor Swift. A wild Truth Social post, shared on Monday morning, reads like part love letter, part anti-woke manifesto and part hate mail all at once. It also started with an embarrassing gaffe. Luddite Trump, who is known to have his minions type out his infamous tweets and Truth Social messages, called MAGA's new poster girl 'Sidney,' before the message was deleted and re-uploaded. 'Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the 'HOTTEST' ad out there. It's for American Eagle, and the jeans are 'flying of the shelves.' Go get 'em Sydney!' the revised post about his new favorite actress said. Trump, who is very friendly with the American Eagle ruling family, the Schottensteins, caused the company's stock price to soar with the message. At the time of writing, American Eagle Outfitters Inc stock had jumped a huge 17.67 percent in value, right after the love letter to the blonde bombshell and her 'great genes.' 'She's a registered Republican? Now I love her ad,' Trump previously told reporters on Sunday after news of Sweeney's political leanings emerged. 'You'd be surprised at how many people are Republicans. That's what I wouldn't have known, but I'm glad you told me that.' His praise follows similar fawning from Sen. Ted Cruz and Vice President JD Vance, who said, 'My political advice to the Democrats is continue to tell everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive is a Nazi.' His Truth Social message, however, wasn't done. He also aimed shots at Jaguar, Bud Light and pop superstar Taylor Swift. Trump tried to connect the fortunes of the automaker, Jaguar, to the recent saga around Sweeney, saying: 'On the other side of the ledger, Jaguar did a stupid, and seriously WOKE advertisement, THAT IS A TOTAL DISASTER!' 'The CEO just resigned in disgrace, and the company is in absolute turmoil. Who wants to buy a Jaguar after looking at that disgraceful ad,' he continued. Last year, the company caused a social media firestorm when it underwent a rebrand under the slogan 'Copy Nothing.' It released a colorful 30-second ad featuring a host of androgynous-looking models in brightly colored outfits. Images of the models, including one man wearing a dress, accompanied slogans such as 'create exuberant,' 'live vivid,' 'delete ordinary', and 'break moulds.' It was announced last week that Jaguar Land Rover CEO Adrian Mardell will step down after spearheading the doomed revamp. After dragging Mardell and Jaguar, Trump then switched his attention to Budweiser and then eventually the 'no longer hot' Swift. Jaguar should have 'learned a lesson from Bud Lite, which went Woke and essentially destroyed, in a short campaign, the Company,' he said, appearing to mix up Bud Light with Miller Lite. He was attempting to reference Budweiser partnering with transgender model Dylan Mulvaney in 2023, a saga that Mulvaney later labeled 'beer-gate.' The backlash against Budweiser, led by MAGA heavyweights, was intense. Kid Rock, for example, posted a video of himself shooting Bud Light cans with an assault rifle at the height of the furor. 'The market cap destruction has been unprecedented, with BILLIONS OF DOLLARS SO FOOLISHLY LOST,' Trump's Monday diatribe continued. This is somehow connected, in Trump's mind at least, to Taylor Swift's political leaning. 'Or just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can't stand her (HATE!),' he ranted on, recalling the time he declared his hatred for the left-leaning pop star. 'She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT,' he added, concluding, 'The tide has seriously turned — Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" Solve the daily Crossword
