Shock footage emerges of Pittsburgh Steelers players fighting each other in practice as training camp turns ugly

The Pittsburgh Steelers training camp descended into chaos on Thursday afternoon after two of their stars fought each other - on multiple occasions. As preparations for the new season continue to get underway, most fans would hope to see their teams learning the styles of one another and building team chemistry. However, for the Steelers, it appears that the opposite has occurred after tight end Jonnu Smith and safety Juan Thornhill were seen brawling - twice - at training. Ugly footage of the scuffles made their way onto social media shortly afterwards, however it remains unclear what order the events happened in. In one clip, Smith was seen beating Thornhill during a 1-vs-1 at the training camp, before throwing the ball at his teammate - which he clearly didn't appreciate. Thornhill quickly got back to his feet and charged at Smith before the two players grabbed hold of one another. Teammates and staff rushed on pitch to break it up. Later in the evening, another video from the camp emerged which showed Thornhill getting the better of Smith - before pushing the ball into the tight end's chest. As the pair walked back, a few words were exchanged before the duo began lightly shoving each other. Eventually, Smith lunged at Thornhill and appeared to throw a punch. Once again, the two Steelers stars were locked in a scuffle but, this time, there were a number of teammates stood close by who were able to break it up. Both players only recently joined the Steelers - with Thornhill landing a one-year deal with the franchise back in March and Smith joining in June as part of a trade. Along with the aforementioned duo, the Steelers also brought in veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who will be hoping to make an impact with the side. #Steelers S Juan Thornhill and TE Jonnu Smith get into a heated fight after going back and forth in 1v1s at training camp! 😳🍿 — Steelers Update (@SteelersUpdate1) August 1, 2025 Rodgers, 41, is gearing up for his first season with the Steelers after signing a one-year, $13.65million deal in Pittsburgh on the back of his New York Jets release. This campaign may well mark Rodgers' last in the NFL after more than two decades, meaning he will want to go out with a bang. However, his opening practice with Pittsburgh did not get off to the best start after he threw an interception with his very first pass.

‘We're actively discussing it' – Jake Paul's team CONFIRM Anthony Joshua fight talks and reveal potential date and venue

JAKE PAUL'S team have CONFIRMED talks are ongoing for a fight with Anthony Joshua. YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul audaciously called out two-time heavyweight champ AJ earlier in the year. 4 It sparked a back-and-forth exchange between the two behind-the-scenes - paving the way for genuine talks between the two camps. Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed they are interested with Paul's promotional partner Nakisa Bidarian also open for talks. And with Saudi boxing supremo Turki Alalshikh also on board - the shock fight could become a reality. Bidarian told Sky Sports: "I think the fight can absolutely happen. "I'm looking at it as Jake versus Joshua, which is quite biblical, and it's quite impactful in many ways. "I think size wise, we can get comfortable with it, and I think experience wise, Jake is learning very fast and growing, and Joshua is a little long in the tooth. "So it could be a very interesting matchup, and we're actively discussing it with Matchroom." Paul, 28, is coming off a ten-round points victory in June against former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, 39. 4 CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS Meanwhile Joshua, 35, is yet to return since being knocked out by Daniel Dubois, 27, in September. He has since undergone elbow surgery - with the plan to return before 2025 is over as Paul's camp eye the mega-bout next year. Bidarian said: "I think we're looking at it happening at the start of 2026. "It's public that AJ was taking a little time away, I think he had a little surgery. "So once he's ready, and once Jake is ready, we're going to squarely focus on that. "It's a fight that Jake wants to do, and that's a discussion we've had at length, and he feels very confident about where he is in his career and his chances of upsetting Anthony Joshua." Paul wants the fight at Wembley Stadium - but America and Saudi Arabia are also other potential hosts. Bidarian revealed: "We're looking at multiple options. Wembley's definitely a possibility. Jake said he'd like to do it there. "He likes the idea of going in and hearing 90,000 people booing him! He kind of feeds off that. "But we're looking at the US, obviously Saudi Arabia is an option, the Middle East is an option as a whole. "We want to do it in the most impactful way possible." Paul made his heavyweight debut last November - when Mike Tyson returned aged 58 after 20 YEARS away from the ring. He put on two stone to 16st 2lb (227lb) but admitted he struggled to even run before dropping back down to the 14st 4lb cruiserweight limit. But Joshua was 18 stone against Dubois - which is a whopping FOUR STONE heavier than Paul. AJ brutally knocked out MMA star Francis Ngannou, 38, in 2024 in what was only the ex-UFC champ's second boxing bout. Bidarian said: "Power is obviously the last thing to go. "So obviously, AJ has a ton of power, and he's still fairly young. Mike Tyson - much more vicious of a knockout artist than Anthony Joshua - that was a risk Jake was willing to take. "Francis Ngannou, amazing MMA fighter, very powerful man, but not an experienced boxer, right? He is a lot less experienced than Jake Paul. "So if people were comfortable with Francis getting in there with AJ, Jake, who is now 13 fights in, plus one amateur fight, then we are comfortable with this." 4 4

Chris Woakes RULED OUT of the Ashes in major blow to England after dislocating his shoulder in fifth Test against India

Chris Woakes has been ruled out of this winter's Ashes after dislocating his left shoulder while fielding in the fifth Rothesay Test between England and India on Thursday. The 36-year-old was hurt after chasing a Karun Nair drive to the long-off boundary, flicking the ball away from the rope to stop the four, but jarring the joint as he broke his fall with his left hand. Mail Sport understands medics struggled to pop the shoulder back into place as they assessed the injury post play and the damage is more extensive than first feared. In a cruel blow, it is estimated he will be sidelined for up to six months, ruling out his selection in the five-Test series in Australia, starting on November 21 in Perth. The selection of Woakes in England's squad has been a long-standing debate, given his underwhelming record in overseas Tests, but he appeared to have won over the management on that front and has been an ever present in this ongoing series against the Indians. An ECB statement said that the Warwickshire seamer 'will continue to be monitored throughout the remainder' of this match, but with his chances of one final swansong down under against the Australians now scuppered, he will not return to the field until 2026. Woakes' injury was a blow to an already-depleted England's chances of transforming a 2-1 lead over Shubman Gill's side into a series win. He immediately clutched his shoulder in agony and received treatment from physio Ben Davies, who he left the field alongside. 'It doesn't look great,' admitted England's other opening bowler, Gus Atkinson, whose five wickets wrapped up India's innings for 224 on the second morning.
