The Boston Red Sox are taking center stage in the baseball world, as fans and media alike wait for the call-up of top prospect Roman Anthony. The Red Sox, however, have been playing a waiting game in making that decision.

During a segment on Foul Territory, MLB insider Ken Rosenthal described the Red Sox's decision regarding Anthony's call-up in one word: disjointed.
"They're disjointed," Rosenthal said. "They're not in a cohesive state right now. Disjointed in the way the roster has been put together."
Red Sox manager Alex Cora has been playing coy about how the Red Sox plan to promote Anthony. Between the current state of the roster and the Red Sox's indecision when it comes to Anthony, Rosenthal called it disjointed.
The Red Sox had been in the middle of a tough stretch, losing nine of their last 12 games. But, after winning back-to-back games against the New York Yankees in New York, the Red Sox's outlook looks a lot better.

Anthony, amid all of the drama surrounding his call-up, has been raking in Triple-A. In 212 at-bats, Anthony has a .288 batting average with 10 home runs, 29 RBIs, and an impressive .914 OPS.

He has 61 hits, 45 runs scored, nine doubles, two triples, three stolen bases, 51 walks, and 56 strikeouts. Not only is Anthony hitting for power, but he's also showing how disciplined he is at the plate.
Anthony isn't the top prospect in baseball just for his hitting either. He has incredible fielding numbers. Across time in left field, center field, and right field, Anthony doesn't have a single error, and has a 1.000 fielding percentage.

With the Red Sox roster already strong in the outfield, the question regarding Anthony is where he'll be placed once he's called up. Rosenthal suggested shuffling things around, which included a ridiculous suggestion to move Kristian Campbell down to Triple-A and Ceddane Rafaela to second base.
Regardless of what the Red Sox do in the field, with the Red Sox in win-now mode, Anthony should be on the MLB roster. The sentiment from Rosenthal is that the Red Sox are disjointed in their decision-making with Anthony.

If the plan is to keep him around, that could have implications for the future of Jrue Holiday, Sam Hauser, and maybe even Payton Pritchard in Boston.
