What Does Your 10th House Reveal About Your Career and Legacy?
A person's birth chart is divided into twelve houses, each governing a different area of life. The
10th House
, positioned at the very top of the chart, is one of the most important, as it represents your career, public reputation, and social standing.
It is often referred to as the Midheaven (MC) and signifies your life's greatest ambitions and your legacy in the world.
The 10th House is not just about your job; it is about your calling. It governs your professional path, your public image, and the reputation you build over time. It shows what you are destined to achieve in the eyes of the world and how you are seen by society. The sign on the cusp of this house, along with any planets placed within it, provides crucial insight into the kind of career that will bring you the most fulfillment and success.
For example, a person with an
Aries
placement here might be a natural-born leader or entrepreneur, while a
Libra
placement could indicate a career in law or diplomacy.
Planets in the 10th House can have a powerful influence on your professional life. A planet like
Saturn
here may indicate a career that requires discipline and hard work, but promises long-term success and authority. In contrast,
Jupiter
in the 10th House can point to a career with great opportunity and expansion, often leading to public recognition and good fortune. This house also reveals how you handle authority and how you lead others. Ultimately, the 10th House is a guide to your most visible achievements and your lasting impact on the world.

‘Urdu never confined to any religion'
Lucknow: Urdu was never confined to any religion, but served as a common language for the people in Lucknow, said Nawab Masood Abdullah at a programme for the awareness of the city's linguistic and cultural heritage titled 'Tehzeeb aur Zubaan'. The event — organised by the social awareness group Adaab Arz Lucknow at the Press Club on Thursday — featured noted speakers, including Nawab Masood Abdullah, Urdu scholar Mohsin Khan, and Sajida Saba. The programme was conducted by Dr Sabra Habib. Warning that the tradition of reading and writing in Urdu was fading with the increasing dominance of English and Hindi, Abdullah said: "It is the need of the hour to preserve our language. " Iffat Khan, founder of Adaab Arz Lucknow, said, "Zubaan (language) and tehzeeb (mannerism) is a medium that moulds the past, present and future." She stressed how languages evolved with the needs of society. Mohsin Khan read excerpts from his books, while Poet Sajida Saba sang her self-composed Urdu ghazals, which won appreciation from the audience. tnn Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI). Anchored catamaran sinks in Mandovi, raises safety concerns
Panaji: A fibreglass catamaran left unattended in the Mandovi river sank on Thursday morning. The vessel, valued at around Rs 2 crore, was listing for several days due to the heavy showers and defunct bilge pumps. This is the third incident this year involving an anchored vessel, raising questions about the monitoring and competency of the Captain of Ports (CoP) department, which certifies and monitors vessels operating in Goa's inland waterways. A person in the know said the owners of the catamaran failed to keep a skeletal crew aboard the vessel. 'The presence of a crew would have ensured that the bilge pumps were working. This incident could have been prevented,' the person said. Barge owners expressed concern over the lax monitoring of vessels moored or anchored along the main river canal. 'Due to inclement weather, such vessels can break away from their anchor and drift towards the middle of the channel. We saw this happen when a similar boat caught fire and drifted across the river, finally colliding into another vessel on the other side of the bridge. The CoP department allowed it to happen due to a lack of proper supervision and monitoring of inland vessels. The authorities need to wake up and take these risks into account. This vessel was not seaworthy and was not surveyed or inspected even when it was listing,' said a barge operator. The sunken catamaran, which the current owner recently purchased from another boat operator, had no navigation lights even though it was parked very close to the main channel used by iron ore-laden barges, yachts, river cruise vessels, fishing trawlers, and coastal security patrol boats. Salvaging the vessel will be complex, and the owner will have to wait till low tide to survey the damage and decide on the salvage process, said sources.
