Suria KLCC's signature picnic goes festival mode
ICONIC shopping destination – Suria KLCC – recently wrapped up the highly anticipated return of its award-winning 'Picnic in the Park' event, which this year debuted in an exciting new format; a vibrant, full-fledged festival set against the iconic backdrop of KLCC Park and the Esplanade KLCC.
Held from July 4 to 6, the three-day outdoor event brought together the joy of al-fresco dining and curated lifestyle experiences in a lively, experiential setting.
Now in its third year, this signature campaign reached new heights with modern rustic décor, a Glam Bar for festival-ready looks, and a retro combi van turned snack hub and Insta-worthy photo spot.
Guests were treated to curated picnic baskets, perfect for enjoying beneath their charming tipi tents.
Access to the festival was reserved exclusively for Suria KLCC shoppers who spent RM3,000 and above in two receipts between June 13 and 29.
Each qualifying shopper received a picnic admission for four, along with RM80 in F&B e-vouchers to enjoy at the festival.
From 4pm to 9pm daily, 75 groups per day were treated to a money-can't-buy experience in the park, framed by the Petronas Twin Towers and the Lake Symphony, from golden hour through twilight.
The Esplanade KLCC was transformed into a whimsical festival ground, draped in sheer canopies and lush greenery.
Upon registration, guests received a curated picnic basket and roadmap card to guide their festival journey – starting with whimsical face painting and handcrafted beaded accessories at the Glam Bar Station, and continuing through the DIY drinks bar, coffee-tasting booth, photobooth with unlimited printouts, and more.
At KLCC Park, guests enjoyed earth-toned picnic setups beneath tipi tents, along with engaging workshops such as tote bag customisation and bubble play.
The event featured live musical performances at the Park Hill stage.
Delectable bites and sips were served by Imperial Chakri Palace, TGI Fridays, Sakana, All About Chew, Eight Ounce Coffee Co, and Gong Cha.
Guests also received goodies from Toys 'R' Us, Remax, Kiehl's, MAC, and HOKA. A highlight of the event was the 10-foot macramé centrepiece and performance stage on KLCC Park Hill, where guests were entertained by live performances from the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, buskers, and drum circles.
The evenings concluded with a spectacular view of the Lake Symphony Fountain Show, providing a fitting end to a magical evening.
Picturesque photo ops including a vintage combi van, rattan swing chair, and the stunning macramé installation, ensured guests had plenty of content-worthy moments to capture and share.

Record turnout for Seremban half marathon
A RECORD 12,000 runners participated in a sporting event in Seremban 2, Negri Sembilan, marking the run's 11th edition and the township's 30th anniversary. Held at Dataran Centrio in Seremban 2, the IJM Land Half Marathon's festive atmosphere marked the township's transformation over the years. The sporting event championed healthy living, community bonding and charity. In recognition of outstanding school participation, RM3,000 was awarded to Chung Hua High School for registering the highest number of runners totalling 560 students. This year's total contributions exceeded RM45,000, bringing the cumulative amount contributed since the run's inception in 2012 to more than RM350,000. Attractions that day included an electric vehicle showcase, a petting zoo, carnival games, car race simulation, face painting, balloon clown activity and an appearance by popular fictional character Labubu. Families enjoyed a variety of fun activities, with themed airbrush tattoos, and caricature art. There were also free health screenings, massages, sports recovery services and adolescent health awareness programmes. Participants enjoyed refreshments, coffee and frozen yoghurt at a discounted rate, along with giveaways through sponsor activations and interactive booths. More than 300 lucky draw prizes worth over RM35,000 were won, including smartphone, tablet, watch, apparel gift cards, hypermarket gift vouchers, and health screening packages. Sustainability was also a highlight of the event, with an educational booth by SWM Environment promoting environmental awareness and recycling efforts with on-site waste segregation support. 'The IJM Land Half Marathon not only promotes physical fitness but also supports charitable causes and environmental sustainability, reflecting our values as a responsible corporate citizen,' said Chai.

Man spends RM26,000 to restore wife's smile

RM100,000 boost for RXZ Members 7.0 activities in Terengganu
KUALA LUMPUR: The initial allocation of RM100,000 to support the organisation of RXZ Members 7.0 2025 Programme will be fully utilised to ensure that the event runs smoothly, safely, and has a high impact. Programme director Mohd Lukhman Nooralazhar expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the allocation. He said they will also ensure that the programme brings significant benefits to the people while uplifting the nation's image. 'This also serves as a motivational boost to the organisers, participants, and motorcycle enthusiasts to make this event a success, which is expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors nationwide. 'We believe the government's support not only elevates RXZ Members 7.0 as a national iconic event, but also provides economic benefit to the local community through the tourism, hospitality, food, and retail sectors,' he said when contacted by Bernama today. Yesterday, Anwar announced the funding for the RXZ Members 7.0 2025 Programme, set to take place on Aug 23 at the Gong Badak Motorsport Circuit in Terengganu.
