The incident happened as Pakistan resorted to heavy shelling along India's bordering districts in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan. Over 25 locations in these states were attacked by a swarm of drones, most of which were intercepted by India's air defence systems.Tensions escalated between the two countries after Pakistan violated the ceasefire along the International Border and Line of Control (LoC) on Thursday, following India's Operation Sindoor launched against Pakistani terrorist camps in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack, in which 26 civilians were gunned down by Pakistan-backed terrorists.

This is a stand-off weapon, meaning it can be launched from a distance and still hit its target accurately just like the weapons used in India's Balakot airstrike in 2019.
